Shrimp&Crawfish Etouffee
Mariah C.

I had smothered catfish! The crispy flavorful catfish was covered in etouffee also served with white rice and sweet cornbread. It was so good I thought abt going back the next day! We were seated fast! Food served fast. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The only downside were the bathrooms they smell like sewer! I almost lost me appetite.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Otherwise very good place to enjoy Cajun food!

Spicy Shrimp Tacos

Super busy and short staffed so I had to wait a bit before even being acknowledged. I understand being busy will affect service, but a simple We'll be right you would have been appreciated. I finally asked if I could order after getting a menu from another customer. The food, spicy shrimp tacos and drink, Hurricane, were fantastic and worth the wait. Shrimp cooked to perfection, great ratio of toppings and a good portion for 10 buckd. Fresh berries in the Hurricane made it a real treat. The sides were on the pricy side.. 8 dollars for potato salad. Lastly, I had to ask for a napkin while eating my tacos. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Be prepared for a bit of a wild ride if you sit at the bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Beautiful historic old building, but anytime someone walked by, it'd be like I was on horseback with the ground shaking.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'll go back....just not on a Friday.

We stopped in from out of town knowing we'd try some bbq later but some Cajun food sounded good. I googled some restaurants and this came up and off we went! The food was outstanding!!! My husband loves catfish red beans / rice and gumbo. This place may have the best Cajun food we've ever had! And yes we've been to New Orleans! Catfish so tasty and the cornbread oh my! He got catfish topped with gumbo and I had the dirty chick. Also tried beans and rice and for drinks a hurricane. Our servers were lovely and helpful. We were already contemplating going back there one more time if we could make it work this weekend it's that good!

So before we start!! The menu The hostess/waitress I am doing dry January so no drinks..but the food!!! Incredible!! Ok so for starters smoked chicken wings and the curry shrimp and corn chowder!!! Perfect.... I had the smothered fried catfish and I ate all of it!!! All of it!! Gumbo was delicious!! I had to taste it and I was impressed!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Blues and jazz playing in the background. Loud enough to hear without being disruptive - think vibe enhancing!!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Hats off to the chef. The food tasted so good! The portions were reasonable and service was decent.

I came to Sister Cities Cajun to celebrate my birthday with my family and friends. The food was awesome. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I had the catfish basket with fries and a side of jambalya with cornbread. Plus a Hurricane. Shout out to Jay, he provided great customer service. He was very personable. He even played Happy Birthday by Stevie Wonder for me and Last Dance by Donna Summer which made my mother get up and dance! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Everything was clean and decorated nicely.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'm going back again.

Shrimp & Crawfish Etouffee

Oh my god how have I never been here?? Wowza. My etouffee was incredible!!!! I also had to snack on some of my mom's BOMB French fries. I will definitely come back because there were at least 6 other dishes I want to try.

Service was terrible. There's one woman working the bar, host stand and the entire restaurant. Dias expected, food and drink service was slow. The shrimp and grits were not what I expected. crunchy grit cakes with a hot sauce gravy?? I also had a hurricane that was bitter. They definitely need more employees.

Shrimp and Grits

My husband was looking for somewhere to have dinner that we had not been to yet. And this is what he found! We went on a rainy Sunday evening and had to park a little bit away from the building. There is street parking nearby, but it was full. When we entered, there was a hostess stand, with no hostess. Someone came from behind the counter and said we could sit anywhere, gave us menus and said when we made our choices, we were to order at the counter. We chose our meals and ordered. The food was brought to our table when it was ready. My husband had Étouffée and I had Shrimp and Grits. We both enjoyed our meals! The grits were actually little grit cakes topped with shrimp and sauce. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The building is old and has some character.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I believe there is seating outdoors, but due to the weather, we didn't check it out. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We are in the main room and it was pretty full. There was another room that I didn't look into. There was a private party happening in there and I didn't want to intrude.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There is a menu on the wall in addition to the printed ones. It looked like they may have live music sometimes. The employees were friendly and very busy! We'd go back!

Catfish tacos, gumbo and Cioppino
Maria E.

Sister Cities never disappoints! I ordered the Low Country Cioppino and my partner order the Catfish Tacos and Gumbo, and all of it was delicious. Gumbo comes with a side of incredible cornbread. So many different flavors, seasonings and textures. They probably could've used one more server but I feel like they stayed on top of service well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were able to watch the Blues game while dining as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Looking forward to the next time we go.

This is the first 5-star review I've given so far. Let me tell you why: [[HIGHLIGHT]]Unsure about the location of this place, it's kind of stuck in the middle of nowhere. But once you step in...it was like I was taken to a different place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If ONLY I had been here when they were playing live music -- the vibe must be incredible. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Our waitress was super kind, and the entire space was an old-fashioned type of area. Wood, eclectic colors, very personable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Though I am from the South, I have never had grits in my life. The people I dined with recommended the shrimp and grits. And oh my god. I ate it within 10 minutes, probably. Buttery, saucy, cooked with a slight crisp on the grits (in 4 circular grits. like a cake?). The garnish of corn and a few greens was perfect. I would take my friends and family here for sure. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Wasn't too busy when we went, and there was a bachelorette party of sorts going on at the table next to us, so it was a bit loud, but the food came out pretty fast.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'm curious to know what their other dishes are like!

If you're looking for some Cajun inspired food, look no further. A large group came for lunch & they didn't hesitate to seat us. You will want to try about everything on the menu & you won't be disappointed with whatever you choose. It was all so good!

Etouffee
Baleigh H.

The food was AMAZING. The staff was kind and patient as we decided on what to order. Angie is especially great! We made sure to make a reservation (even for our small party of 3) to ensure we got a seat. Nothing was overly spicy (right level for the type of cuisine) and our drinks stayed filled. Ordered: Étouffée, Cajun pasta, Chicken and Sausage gumbo (off menu special), Hurricane Kennedy.

Their patio is fantastic when the weather is nice and creates a charming, upscale atmosphere. That said, the interior is just as inviting, with a romantic and moody ambiance that makes for a great evening out. The service was exceptional from start to finish. Our server, was friendly, knowledgeable, and offered great recommendations throughout the meal. You can tell the owner and chef take pride in creating a memorable dining experience. We started with the garlic herb fries, which were packed with flavor and absolutely delicious. I also ordered the classic Caesar salad, and it was authentic, fresh, and perfectly executed. For my entrée, I chose the strip steak, and it was outstanding--easily one of the best steaks I've had in a long time. The cook was flawless, the flavor was incredible, and every bite showcased the chef's attention to detail. Overall, this was a 10/10 dining experience, and I can't wait to return.

The parking lot had spaces available. We walked in and there was an event space on the right and a large sofa and chairs against the back wall. Signs indicated where to go for Bellwether so we went around the windows showing the climbing wall to the elevator. Upstairs we were greeted promptly and asked if we wanted to sit inside or out. We opted for inside and she led us down one level to the second floor. I think the building is really cool, and the restaurant is well appointed, exposed brick, cool lantern hanging lamps, bookshelves filled with books and odds and ends, Waitress was friendly, there were only a couple of tables on the floor, but she wasn't intrusive and let us take out time. It filled up more by the time we left. The menu had several things I wanted to order but ended up deciding on the breakfast fried rice. We also ordered the cinnamon roll for the table. Coffee was hot and kept refilled, but it was just ok. The cinnamon roll was tasty. The fried rice was great and the fried egg on top was well cooked and tasty. One of our party ordered a side of sausage, it was four links and they were good, another ordered the pork belly sandwich and that was one of my other choices, I tried it and was impressed! I thought it would be too sweet, but it was perfect. Viewing the pictures of dinner, can't wait to go back for that and sitting outside!

He made some suggestions after I asked a few questions. Ended up with the Denial and Error made with Strawberry Infused Cambio Blanco Tequila, Black Sesame-Miso Syrup, Lime, and Chocolate Walnut Bitters. So different but so good as is always the case! I loved how the miso and sesame came through. My other pick was what my daughter was going to get so I got to try that, too! The So Hip It's Outta Sight made with Blanco Tequila, Green Chile Vodka, Creole Shrubb, Cranberry-Sage Syrup, and Lime. It was sweet and good. I would order either of them again. We arrived late on Sunday, around 9:00 PM and they closed at 10:00 not realizing till we were in and seated that no one else was there, we must have passed the last person that came out as we were coming in. The vibe is classic, elevated, and gives true cocktail lounge energy -- not loud or chaotic, just intentional and well put together. Now let's talk about what we came for: the drinks. We ordered the Old Fashioned flight, and when I say they did not come to play... they did not come to play. Each one was crafted differently, and you can tell there's real skill behind the bar. These are not bartenders -- these are mixologists. Every drink was balanced, strong (in a good way), and thoughtfully made. Quick tip: If you plan on getting the Old Fashioned flight, make this your last stop of the night... because you will feel it. Service was great, drinks came out in a timely manner, and the overall experience felt elevated from start to finish. Highly recommend if you're looking for a true cocktail experience in St. Louis.

One of the coolest touches is the large display of vinyl records, it adds a ton of character and gives the whole place a unique, almost nostalgic energy. They won me over with the tiny dedicated parking lot. At my big age, difficult parking situations are a turn off and I will go home if I can't get reasonable parking. I was able to snag a space in the lot and headed in. The space is a bit dark with rich sage, brass, and terracotta. There are several hanging plants making it an inviting place. The bar has plenty of comfortable seating and cozy tables if you decide to bring some friends. Caleb was our server during our visit. He was an absolute delight. He made excellent cocktail suggestions. He looked after our group without being overly doting. Just a gem of a human. We tried approximately 9 cocktails during our visit. Did I mention we were at brunch! I highly recommend the peach bite and the Side Car. Every cocktail is thoughtfully made and well executed. They offer a small brunch menu along with the regular menu. I usually always get chilaquiles when they are available. But today the ruby trout and grits sounded perfect. This dish was amazing!! The trout was thin with crispy skin. The grits were creamy and delicious. The dish is topped with a house made radish pico and salsa macha. We also ordered a breakfast sandwich that was paired with the crispiest breakfast potatoes I've ever had. The burger and fries are also a good option. The seasoning on the fries is next level. The brunch menu has a sticky toffee roll that is a perfect size for sharing or not. Salty sweet fork tender cinnamon roll. Lastly, the deviled eggs were a group favorite. I am a big fan of Passenger Chili Crisp. If you are unfamiliar please look them up! It's hands down the best chili crisp I've ever had. It's locally made here in STL and can also be found in several dishes at restaurants around town. The eggs were creamy with the right amount of tang from the mustard. The chili crisp made these deviled eggs easily top five best I've ever had! Planning to stop in again soon for happy hour with more friends
