Was a little confused with making appointment on website so I called on a Friday. Explained my girls hair texture their age etc. Kelly was able to give me an 11 am the next day. Which was great . We got there a few minutes early was greeted nicely. She did explain that someone from another location squeezed in another client in between my daughter's appointments. I was totally fine with it I was not in a rush and I didn't want her to feel overwhelmed. She did my 7 year old first she was kind, gently and understanding. She did mini layers and she looked so beautiful. The other client came in she did the little girl pretty fast. Then one of the other young ladies washed my daughter's hair as we were waiting. She explained what products to use for my daughter's hair and what to do and what not to do. And we got about 10 inches. Which in the website it says we can donate it but she didn't know too much about it. So she gave it to me in a ziplock and I will look for somewhere that we can . We always though my daughters hair was just long and straight but she made my daughters dream come true and found some waves after she cut it she diffused it and styles it . My 11 year old was so happy. And so was I. We will definitely continue to come back. Kelly was amazing . There is also a cute kids area and they sell toys -and other cute items. They have little car seats for the younger kids and also an iPad on hand lol. Super cute!

She came in and played with other kids in their play area. She picked out a toy to buy and she stood still in the chair surprisingly. They had her pick out a hair clip and a little toy. They gave her a balloon and they even give you a certificate and a piece of her hair to save. Overall, I'm thankful to the owner for squeezing us in and her haircut came out so cute right in time for her first day ever in school on Thursday!

We have had only good interactions until today. Today, I witnessed Estelle take a bite of her breakfast sandwich and then come over to begin her work. Before she started I mentioned that my daughter has severe food allergies. I asked that she didn't use any products and asked if she wouldn't mind washing her hands before she began since my daughter has severe food allergies. She said she did just wash her hands. I mentioned how I saw her toucher her food before walking over. She was visibly annoyed and made a comment to her coworker. When she returned from washing her hands she came back with hands dripping wet and in a rude tone asked if she was allowed to dry her hands. She said she wanted to follow my rules. We left without a scene. I wanted to take this time to educate those who may not be familiar with severe food allergies. Even a touch of an allergen can cause severe life threatening reactions. A simple ask of washing hands to keep my daughter safe shouldn't have been a big deal. To be mocked and disrespected was completely uncalled for.

She was incredibly kind, took the time to understand exactly what I wanted, and guided me toward the best option for my hair. Even though highlighting is a detailed and time-intensive process, Ava's attention to detail was exceptional! When it came time to choose the right shade, she brought out a color swatch book and walked me through the different tones, helping me find the one that would complement me best. I really appreciated how personalized the experience felt, and I loved being able to look through all the color options myself. Ava is a talented stylist who genuinely cares about her clients and their results. I left feeling refreshed, confident, and like a whole new person. I couldn't be happier with my highlights and would highly recommend her!

I then ended up waiting longer, so my appointment didn't start until 45 minutes after my original time. Due to this, it seemed like my service was very rushed and I was unhappy with how the cut came out. I had to go back in the following week to have it touched up. Also, the salon bathroom smelled awful and the salon gets incredibly smoky and hazy. While this place wasn't for me, it seems a lot of people like it, so maybe it's all dependent on the stylist

I came to this salon as a first time customer, and was super excited to get my hair cut after covid…read moreand try this place out. I was called the morning of my appointment and rushed to view an email "unless my appointment would be cancelled." Driving from 1.5 hours away, and being given this email *2 hours before my appointment received the email at 10:30 am with a 12:45 appointment and was told that they had my incorrect email prior, have zero missed calls and zero voicemails* , I rushed out the door. With it raining heavily on the highway, there was a lot of traffic and I got delayed for my appointment. I pulled up to the salon, and they not only refused to see me, but turned their backs away from me in the window, and I was told over the phone that I would be charged a full 120.00 service fee for arriving behind *due to a situation which was out of my control. And now I'm being called entitled by the owner. Would understand if it was fees applied to a future booking, as nothing in their website COVID policy states that this is not an option.* Let me also note that I tried to call multiple times *at least 3x* before my appointment time started to notify them but their phone was off the hook, so I had to email. I told them I only needed a light trim, could skip the blowout, etc. but they said no, and refused my business. They then proceeded to book me for another appointment and I asked if they could help apply some credit to the next appointment. Again was refused. *Even though there's no a policy in place that says this is not an option. I had my lawyer look over it as well to confirm.* *I had pulled up to the salon to enter and they called my phone as I was outside to cancel. I was in my car and waved politely, and am being told that made the staff "uncomfortable" by even showing up? I had an appointment! I wasn't even allowed to walk in and discuss a rebooking with them. I was super polite about it and gave multiple opportunities to amend the situation. Still waiting for this to be amended, but not holding out any hope here.* Now I just got a notification about my next appointment being cancelled (without me asking to cancel it). *The salon assumed, and is now stating they don't want my business because I'm not 100% happy with how things went down. I wouldn't want them to cut my hair now anyhow, I'm very particular with who touches my head, and wouldn't trust them after this event.* *I asked to speak to the owner to resolve this peacefully and was denied. Courtney I know you are seeing this.. would love to hear from you - please call me to resolve this peacefully.* This place is rude, unprofessional, and I would never recommend going here *if you value good business ethics, this place is not for you.* Worst customer service ever. *I tried to do a good thing in supporting a small business in a difficult time, and I'm being called entitled by the owner multiple times. I'm a very fair person and just upset about this situation.* I'm highly offended.

I have unique hair-- curly, fine but thick, so it is prone to breakage and getting tangled. Finding a decent curly hair expert who also does dry cuts in NYC was a nightmare when I moved to the city. But this place? Game-changer. They even do amazing hair extensions, blonde specialist work, and hand-painting, and I can confirm that these are top-notch. Keep in mind that I have been seeing Martha for over five years now, so the growth and change I have seen in this business is wild. Their website and online booking system is super easy, and now they have this cute app with membership and loyalty points. Y'all, I love an app. I. love. an app. It makes me feel like a VIP when a membership program is legit and actually treats its members. From the moment I booked my first appointment (super easy btw), everything was smooth. Her assistant Anais (who is a stylist-in-training), manages the phones, and she makes booking seamless if you don't have time to go on their site. Their whole vibe is so chill but professional. The studio itself is boutique and has an elevated feel, without being stuffy. During your appointment, they actually educate you on your hair health and craft a custom treatment plan with products that are uniquely tailored to you and your needs. The team at Headchop and Lil Chop is legit. They're not just about trends or pushing the latest fad; they actually care about your hair health. No pushy sales, just honest advice and personalized hair care recommendations, with products that actually work for my curls. My hair is radically transformed since I first became a client, and in a way that made sense for me. My hair has never looked or felt better. Seriously. If you're in NYC and struggling with your hair, do yourself a favor and check out Headchop and Lil Chop in Williamsburg. Dolls, trust me!! It's worth it!! I will never see anyone else.
