Anyway corny jokes aside this bar can seem mysterious from the outside but it's a great local bar with a great food menu and a pretty solid cocktail list. Being as this is my local bar it's a great place to unwind after a long day of work, or even just to stop by and say hello. What an amazing surprise! Boyfriend and I kept walking by the place and seeing happy people inside. We kept promising to go, and finally ended up eating there last night. It was great! So from the street this just looks like a fun bar: they have pinball machines, board games, and an outdoor area. Never would've guessed they were selling red and white checkered tablecloth Italian in there. They have chicken parm, meatball sandwiches, fried lasagna, and some other awesome Italian American treasures. Boyfriend and I had a chicken parm and a meatball sandwich. Came in on a Saturday afternoon with some friends and chose to sit outside. There was plenty of seating. Ordered up at the bar, the bartender was very nice. We got a bottle of Chianti wine which was delicious. The fries were tasty, the rigatoni carbone was super flavorful and my friend really liked her chicken sandwich. The chop salad had tons of toppings but unfortunately the cucumber in it was sour. I got the fettuccine Alfredo but wasn't really a fan of their sauce. I did ask the kitchen for a side of the vodka sauce and put it on top and was able to enjoy my pasta. That sauce is very good. I really liked the cannolis, you could really taste the orange and the pistachios were candied! They were playing really good music. Definitely gotta check out the Photo Booth while you're there. Have this spent-grain roll, locally sourced cheese, farm raised ham, and lettuce, tomato, and onion that we grew on the roof topped with hand-pressed olive oil and spent-Pinot Noir vinegar. That'll be $25. Want to play some pinball? Pay this $3 cover and bring a bunch of quarters, load up a card that only works here, or pay a one-time fee of $23 to play as much as you want. I love Sit Tite because it's just fucking easy. It's open all week, it keeps the pinball up front and just takes quarters and bills, it gives me chicken parm when I want it, it has a good coffee cocktail when I have the money for it and $3 Rainier when I don't, and it basically has a giant dining room out back. Sit-Tite's menu could've warranted a full dining room, wait staff... the whole nine. But I'm glad there's one fucking place in this town where I can just put an order in, play some pinball, have above-bar-quality food waiting for me when I get back, and just enjoy a night outside. Hot Italian was the first thing I've tried so far at this joint that serves just Italian food. I've been to a pub that serves German, but this is a fun place. They have a good selection to choose from for food and what not and it all smells good in there and it's a cozy little place with dim light ambience and the Christmas lighting that's currently going on for December is grade 2, which really sets the mood for a warm evening. They have a nice selection of drinks too that are delicious and I tried the espresso one which was a little sweet, but a good kick and dangerous as I couldn't taste the alcohol... service is very friendly. The marinara sauce, for once, is well-balanced and refreshing. The Chop Salad was also good with tasty chickpeas and citrusy vinegrette. We also tried the Proscuitto & Burrata Sandwich with a side of Fries. Sandwich was great. The combo of burrata, balsamic, and proscuitto doesn't miss! Fresh Dos Hermanos bread as well. The Fries were well-seasoned, hot, and crispy. Went perfectly with the Calabrian Chilli Aioli. These are some of the most highend bar food we've had. Definitely will be back for more. The atmosphere when walking in is that this would be your average bar; However, the menu says otherwise. There are noticeably more seating spaces available outside than inside, but the overall space is quite cozy, and I noticed a pool table inside. The food options provide light finger food items suitable if you are drinking and are looking for some grazing dishes, as well as great sandwiches and pasta dishes. I appreciated that the menu wasn't so extensive to the point of being overwhelming. We ordered the fried lasagna, chopped salad, and hot Italian sandwich between the two of us. This was my first time visiting, but the person I was with was now here for the second time. Last time, he had the chicken parm sandwich--he mentioned that the hot Italian was not bad at all, but because he had the chicken parm last time, the standard was set high. When I tried a bite of the hot Italian myself, I personally would have enjoyed some more acidity and spiciness, though this is completely a personal preference. The chopped salad added a nice freshness and crunch to our meal, but was not quite what I had expected. We were choosing between this salad or the Caesar salad, and ended up with this one because it seemed that it would provide more variation in texture and flavor. The salad was not bad at all, but nothing too memorable. I would try the Caesar salad the next time I stop by. For the lasagna, this thing looks small when it comes out, but is quite dense. The presentation was beautiful, and I feel that attention was put into ensuring the lasagna remained the right form throughout the frying process. The flavor is really amazing for anyone who loves cheese the way I do. It is a bit on the heavier side because it's basically a log of lasagna, meaning the pasta and cheese are quite tightly packed. I enjoyed the dish, but could not finish it in one sitting due to the richness. Still love it though! With all of the heavier savory flavors, I ended up getting a dessert--the cannoli. This was the first time I've had a cannoli in my life, but I loved the texture and the fact that it's not too sweet. Throughout our experience, everyone who assisted us was so friendly and helpful. To me, this location highly exceeds the standards for bar food, while meeting/exceeding the standard for the typical casual pasta place. I love myself some chicken parm sandwich so when I read about this place knew I had to try it. We got there on a Friday night right before 6 pm and just beat the rush. You order and pay at the bar then take your number to a table. It gets a bit crowded if there is a line. They have inside seating with TVs, pinball and a pool table. It's a bit loud. Outside the have music from speakers but easier to talk. Maybe 12 tables or so in a very large area. We asked about the sandwich size and with the charcuterie plate he thought sharing a chicken parm should be fine. The plate had some Italian ham which had some heat and another type of meat, generous cheese and some olives and pickled stuff. Okay now the sandwich. First I wish I had a whole one to myself. I would have skipped sharing the other plate. It's messy but the sauce has flavor, lots of basil and the bread was crunchy (but did fall apart as noted got messy) it didn't matter. The sandwich was great with the right balance of cheese, sauce, chicken and basil. I saw a plate of fries and it was HUGE. I would want a large group to order that. All reasonably priced just wish they had opened in the summer as I think it will be too crowded and small when it rainy and cold. Oh and fun drinks. I had a watermelon fresca that didn't have alcohol but the other real cocktails looked good too. I will be back when my chicken parm craving hits again. Super-casual, kinda hip but also downbeat in that melancholy Portland kinda way, with a better than average house cocktail list and an Italian-flavored menu. It's an oddly tight layout on the main floor (as you walk in) where the bar is, but go down to the next level - a few steps - and things open up. More room and light in here, and as this is the game room, you get a full size pool table and a row of retro pinball machines lined up on the other wall. It's a cool setup. Drinks are solid, food is not bad and ambiance is nightlife-y, but low key. I had the Chicken Parm sandwich - a mouthful of good flavors, what with the fonduta cheese sauce and nice spices - but word on the street is that the pasta is also really legit. Service is good, and there's also a big-ass back patio that will no doubt be awesome on summer nights. Beware Boomers: younger crowd here. I've reviewed hundreds of establishments, from fine dining to dive bars. From the minute we walked in the door and cozied up to the bar, we were immediately approached by the bartender, Harvey. He was engaging and informative. We couldn't believe it was so polished as at that time it had only been open 4 months. (Late review add 6 months or so). The layout was ideal for a quiet dinner or a lively game of pool or pinball or hanging to watch a game on the big screen. It was even equipped with a Photo Booth to capture the moment. Thats all fun and all BUT WHAT ABSOLUTELY KILLED IT WAS the FOOD! This is NOT YOUR AVERAGE MEATBALL OR CHICKEN PARM SANDWICH and Let us not forget the FRIED lasagna! This SHIT IS THE SHIT! Picked up ravioli takeout from here & really liked the red sauce raviolis were cooked in. Clearly a "from scratch" recipe-- it had sliced carrots in it. A welcome addition to the restaurant desert that is North Interstate but it could use some fine-tuning. I ordered an Italian meatball sandwich and (this will sound fussy but it's actually practical) they cut the entire bun in half so all of the filling fell out bite after bite. If they had sliced the bun 3/4 of the way through and made a pocket for the filling it would have been a much better "sandwich experience" instead of a big sloppy mess. A pickle or a couple of pepperoncini on the side would be a nice touch, too, considering it's a $14 sandwich. I'm sure the dressing came from a bulk carton. Chicken on the Caeser seemed like a frozen patty of chicken like substance with glued on bread crumbs, pre made by Cisco and deep fried too long. Garlic cheese bread was terrible. Lots of some kind of goop squirted on top and the cheese was added afterwards and not melted. It's pretty hard to screw up garlic bread. Low key neighborhood bar/restaurant, vibe was chill, R&B music, big screen TV, pinball, pool table. Walked inside and only 3-4 people. We walked up to the bar, ordered drinks and then the food... baked ziti with chunks of Italian sausage and tons of cheese, Caesar salad, regular fries sprinkled with chili flakes and aioli sauce, fried mozzarella sticks and marinara sauce.
