    Chicken liver pate with crostini's
    Mandy R.

Little Italian spot that is cute inside with a bar, regular seating areas, and outside seating. The dishes were excellent!!! We started with chicken liver pate' and garlic bread. Oh my, did I try the liver pate...yes, and loved it. Our dishes were a pea pasta and a cavatelli with pork and whipped ricotta. The flavors were amazing. Everything was delicious and perfectly cooked. Our waitress was awesome too! Extremely knowledgeable and helpful in all aspects. Wonderful!!!

Service was rough both times we visited, i do enjoy their caio e pepe. However i don't think we'll be back.

We went in for the Portland Dining Month special menu. We were given the regular menu and the Dining Month menus to choose from when we were seated. We both ordered from that menu. We expected portion sizes to be smaller due to the Dining Month menus. Nope. Portions were full sized which means they were very generous!!!

Came here for dinner a random weekend night without a reservation and was able to grab a table pretty quickly. If you're not pressed for time with a group I would actually recommend getting a bar seat as they have the happy hour menu there all night vs. just the set times for the other tables. You can then get a set of pastas for $18 each which is solid as it's on the pricier side on the regular menu for $29 (mind you they are not the same items though) The happy hour menu seems where it's at as you can also get apps and drinks at a discounted price. We ended up getting a table just as a couple left the bar but were already seated so we just stayed at the table and ordered the meatballs, Linguine 'alle Vongole'. Rapini and Cavatelli. I was excited to try campana based on seeing some reels around the place and it is a quaint spot that was pretty busy. However, I will say the timing of the meal was quite slow and even for just the couple items we got we spent over 2 hours here. As for the items, they tasted fresh and glad to have tried the fresh pasta. I enjoyed the linguine out of the two and would pass the rapini next time (if you want something more on the bitter side to cut richness you can try it). Considering the wait time and pricing I would probably check out some other restaurants before coming back unless I was able to come back for HH.

I've been meaning to try this place for a while and decided today is the day. And I'm so glad I did! I love everything about this place: the space, lighting, music, food, drinks. I especially appreciated the interesting artwork throughout the place as well as the Campana Manhattan that blends vermouth with my favorite amaro, Meletti. Of course, I started with the bread and olive oil. It was amazing. I swear that bread could feed an army! The arugula salad was delightful. And I greatly enjoyed the pasta puttanesca. The simple scoop of blackberry sorbet was a perfect end to a delightful meal. Service from everyone was terrific. I'm looking forward to returning. It's well worth the trek up here!

Portland Dining month is what brought us in... the food and service are what will keep us coming back. Yum!!!! Pictured are the panelle (chickpea fritters), rigatoni, sausage and peppers, ricotta gnocchi, chicken scarpriella and cannolis... Everything was delicious and tasty!!! I was just talking to my sis about already planning a return and we just ate here last night.

Why haven't we tried this sooner!! Love they take reservations as it is a bit of a drive for us. I got the shrimp risotto which was special as I never see risotto anywhere. It was amazing but heavy butter of course, so I should share in the future to be nice to my tummy. I could only eat half anyway as the portion was huge. Tasted great leftover. Husband had the ricotta ravioli and really enjoyed it. They had a nice Italian white wine with a generous pour. The owner is around helping and was very nice. So many other good looking items on the menu to come back and try. We should have tried the gelato for dessert but were stuffed. Very nice atmosphere and good service.

I travel for work so I came here very randomly with no reservation or any real idea of the popularity of this place and I'm lucky I got a seat at the bar! If you're making a plan to come out here definitely get a reservation. But I will say, I think sitting at the bar was definitely a lucky break. They have happy hour food and drinks at the bar all day long and, while I didn't drink, the deals on food were great. Definitely the best prices for portions on the happy hour menu. Honestly not sure if I'd be happy to pay full price for the quality and portions, so it's a good thing I sat at the bar I guess! I got the garlic bread and rigatoni with guanciale. Pasta was perfectly al dente and the guanciale was delicious (as usual) but other than that nothing really to write home about. The bread was PHENOMENAL, so thick and soft... but very lacking in the garlic of it all?! Had to take off an extra star for that unfortunately bc I am a garlic girl fr. One warning, if you do sit by the bar, you sit very close to the open kitchen... I walked out smelling very strongly of all the food they'd cooked in the time I'd been sitting there and those clothes are rotting somewhere in my suitcase making everything smell a little charred

After living in Chicago for so long, we've been spoiled with wonderful Italian food and we were in search of a new place with delicious house made pasta. We came across Campana and it did not disappoint! Great authentic flavors and love that they use local ingredients from the PNW. The cavatelli with pork ragu and whipped ricotta is a must. Atmosphere here is inviting and warm, they also have happy hour!

First time trying this place. I was in town and took my son and his new bride of 3 months to dinner here. They had been wanting to try it. Everything was delicious. The salad was one of the best I have ever had. We all loved it. The bread was divine too. Risotto had Gorgonzola and pear in it and was magnificent. Pork was very tender. Good meatballs. My son is a pastry chef and wanted to try their tiramisu. He thought it was very good. I like his better personally it has a different texture but this one is worth getting and so is the cannoli. I would definitely come back and would love to try their Happy Hour specials. 2 thumbs up. Service was excellent too!

This is a nice little place for a tasty bite. The menu wasn't huge, but there were several different options, including vegetarian ones to choose from. We ordered only a few items, including a glass of the house wine for that evening, which was delicious! We started with the meatballs that came with a hunk of garlic bread (that was my favorite part of the dish). The red sauce had good flavor, with the right amount of spice/herbs. However, the meatballs fell incredibly short. You could tell they were frozen at one point, but they were barely warm. One was even cold in the middle. The one I did have had reasonable flavor and overall the dish was good, minus the temp. The cavatelli dish was nice with the whipped ricotta. The ragu sauce was similar to that served with the meatballs and meshed well with the pork. Based on the few dishes we ordered, this place offers simple, yet appetizing dishes.

Loved the tiramisu, fine balance of cream and coffee with chocolate. Light and fluffy. The meatballs are personal 2nd favorite. The sourdough bread that came with the meatballs warm and crispy on the edges. Nice place for friends gathering and dinner night out. Timely service with offering of water or sparkling at the beginning of seating.

Campana kept popping up on lists of the best places to eat dinner in Portland, so we decided to give it a try. Though there were no reservations available online, I called, and the host was kind enough to accommodate us. The restaurant is spread across several levels and rooms, which makes for a somewhat unusual layout. We were seated next to a ramp on our level, and while the host was gracious, the service could use a little improvement. The staff repeatedly served us over the railing from the ramp instead of walking around to our table, which felt a bit lazy. That said, the bread was the highlight of the meal--absolutely to die for, and I don't usually rave about bread! We ordered the meatballs, and the bread that came with it was phenomenal. We also ordered from the happy hour menu (available until 6 p.m.), and when the bill came, we were pleasantly surprised at how affordable everything was. We tried the Amatriciana, Risotto, Penne Alla Vodka, and a glass of white wine. The noodles were cooked perfectly al dente, and while I enjoyed the pasta, it wasn't something I'd rush back for. Still, the overall experience was good, and for the price, it's definitely worth the visit.

Do you serve Gluten free pasta?

They did offer this when we frequented the restaurant, however you should check with them before arrival.

What is your corkage fee? We are coming to Portland to take a friend to dinner who married us several years ago. We would like to bring the bottle of wine he gave us as a present when he married us.?

I don't know what it is. But I'm sure it's reasonable. I wouldn't let that stop me from going to any restaurant.

Anyway, we get to tour upstairs, for larger groups, and the youngest one specially who is into firemen, and fire engines, got to see what an old 'firehouse' used to look like upstairs. For 13 years, my expat Northern New Jersey family has chased the promise of great Italian-American food in the Portland metro area and--since the pandemic--watched countless establishments and fellow travelers rise to meet the challenge. We've had Hunterdon County Ken's Artisan alum Elise Gold make us the city's best St. Joseph's pastries out of Sebbastiano's. We've taken home the pork rigatoni and penne vodka from Bergen County's own Adam Berger's Montelupo for holiday dinners with the extended Jersey family. Most surprisingly, we've had our Oregon neighbors at Sit-Tite, Gabbiano's and Picone's Quality Deli use Oregon ingredients to make their best representation of Italian-American dishes. The words "red sauce" still get thrown around on occasion, but less frequently and with decreasing pejorative connotations than when we first moved to the city and any establishment not aping Tuscan or Napoletan cuisine and aesthetic was viewed as producing children's strip-mall food. But with an interior designed by the Gabbiano's folks and with personal touches from an owner just up Route 17 (nobody--nobody--from outside of North Jersey who hasn't driven the narrow, crumbling lanes of the Pulaski Skyway over the oft-burning weeds and industrial sites below would ever consider decorating a restaurant with it), Sunday Sauce aims right for the heartstrings. You know that Rusty Nail on the cocktail menu: It's a better version of one the waiter at Cha Cha's in Little Italy made you and your friends try when you big shots decided to take your limo over after the prom. You know that fried mutz on the appetizer list: It's a slightly more presentable interpretation of what you had at the stands during the Feast of the Madonna Dei Martiri in Hoboken. You know that chicken parm: It's not the hubcap-sized portion from Gabbiano's or the sloppy pinball sangwiche from Sit-Tite, but the one the pizza place around the corner would serve in its restaurant section--but with a nicer cut of chicken, slightly better mutz, and more care with the sauce. You definitely know the Sunday Sauce, even if you know it as Sunday Gravy: You've had it your entire life. The old ladies at Shop-Rite stopped you in the aisles to correct you on your use of produce and tomato paste. The first person you brought home for a big dinner asked what that big bowl of meat on the table was for and what was in it. You've moved to strange, far off places and received curious looks when you've asked grocery staff where to find neckbones for the stock. You helped your family make it every weekend and ladle the overstock into old Polly-O containers to put in the freezer. You've sent it to college campuses in Pennsylvania and Ohio. You think you still have some of it that you made during the pandemic when you hoarded San Marzano tomatoes. Sunday Sauce takes its place in the pantheon of Portland's Italian-American greats because the team behind Normandie was going to sweat the basics, but also because someone who grew up in that state's loud, crowded, NYC- and Philly-adjacent, table-leaf using, shore vacationing, "should I get the spumoni"-arguing, extended Italian-American family is going to pour as much love into the cuisine and culture they're 3,000 miles away from as possible. With no offense meant to the other establishments on this list, which have been alluding to the Jersey Italian connection in their own ways (Montelupo's original market setup, Picone's Shop-Rite inspired merch), Sunday Sauce gets bonus points for wearing its background directly on its sleeve and using all its learned during its time here in Portland to translate the experience for this market as uniquely and lovingly as possible. With nary a Soprano or Springsteen in sight, but patron saint Danny DeVito overlooking the dining room, Sunday Sauce has done everything it can to avoid novelty and make its establishment and cuisine the staples they're meant to be. P.S. When the spumoni came in my grandma's jello goblets, that locked up the last star.

Does not come with anything but a few small pork cutlets, sauce and mushrooms. Chicken Parm ($25): pretty good, needed seasoning (or parm in the breading) but the red sauce is bright and tasty. Did not come with anything except for a double-sized chicken cutlet, sauce, mozz. We ordered a side of spaghetti ($10) because it's wild chicken parm is à la carte - so effectively a $35 chicken parm that's not as good as others. Penne in a House Pesto ($22): best flavor, light on the basil (which is what I like), came with a couple blistered tomatoes - could add shrimp for $9. Banana Pudding Tiramisu ($13): pretty good, an interesting twist on a classic Amanda's Cannoli Birthday Cake ($12): dense, light flavor like a cannoli! We waited 45 minutes for a table for 3, no biggie on a Saturday. Service was fine, meals come out as they're done so apps with entrees is the norm. Music is a couple clicks too much, made it difficult to have a conversation. For the price, was expecting a better meal and ambiance but hey, we tried it! Much prefer Monty's Red Sauce in Sellwood - has the same fast casual Italian cafeteria vibe but better food.

I love padrons, and had never found a restaurant that had a sauce or dip that did anything to highlight the taste or add any culinary value. Until No Saint. Listen to this - there was a pepper aioli, but on top of that was the most beautiful, brilliant green oil. I found out later it was a mint oil. I had never tasted mint oil, and somehow it was perfect with the savory padrons. The confetti cilantro (which I've bought at the Montavilla farmers market but never had the heart to use it instead of regular basil - never again will confetti basil die in vain in my fridge!) was so delicious! The lime was almost imperceptible, but we finally recognized it and talked about how it added the final touch. Next, the endive Caesar salad. I love good food - cooking good food, eating good food, reading about good food! Still, I have never loved endive. I've never bought it for a meal. I would walk past the endives in the market and avoid eye contact. To say the endive was amazing in this salad is to undersell the salad! Often, I think the simplest of dishes show if a place is good, down to the basics. Often there is a "twist" that drives me crazy. Or the dish is just bad! This Caesar was so good my friend and I carefully divided the last of it so there would be no hard feelings. For our entrees, my friend chose the Morel and Asparagus Lasagnette, and Snap Peas and Mortadella pizza. I would have chosen one of the red sauce pizzas - I not a fan of most "white" pizzas. Thank god she didn't let me choose! The lasagnette was the circumference of a lasagna serving, but half as tall (or less). That isn't a criticism! Again, the brilliant green of the arugula pesto made the presentation. The handmade pasta kicked. We separated the lasagnette into two pieces. It's a good thing we did, because I would not have been able to stop at half. I can't describe the flavor, but if they have it on the menu when you go, get it! The pizza arrived. Not only was it a white pizza, but covered in pistachios. I'm not a kvetcher, so I just took a bite. Frigging hell - it was good. Exceptionally good. The flavors of the toppings, the basil puree, nutmeg, and lemon (as well as the aforementioned pistachios) sang in perfect harmony. I was almost stuffed when it came, but could not put it down! I ate two pieces, and then my friend said we should stop, to save room for dessert. This friend of mine is skinny. She's always been skinny, and it isn't something she makes happen. She just has those skinny genes. I am not skinny, and felt like I was going to burst. I have never seen my friend stop because she was full! She ordered the tiramisu, and I asked for a cappuccino on the side. The tiramisu came out, and it was the circumference and height of your regular piece of lasagne! Another example of a common Italian dish that can be really, really done wrong. Not at No Saint. No Saint nailed the landing. I left full, but also feeling lighter. The meal had been a revelation, the restaurant design a welcoming, wonderful place. The pizzaolos are in the center of the room, back-to-back with the bartender. Not literally back to back. I hope you get what I mean. It is wide open and not packed with knickknacks or over-staged art - it made me want to not just clean my house, but toss half of the stuff in it! I never choose to sit at the bar (Except for Lucky Horseshoe - the bar is the best!). My friend chose the bar, and once again (I know, I'm getting repetitive) it was the ideal place for us. The stools are really comfortable. The wide bar is perfect for fitting lots of plates and glasses, and you get to see so much. I left, and the next morning, when I woke up, the food I ate at No Saint was my first thought. Throughout the day, one dish or another would pop into my mind. I love going to all the different restaurants, but now I just want Old Saint. Am I ready to finally commit and stop playing the field? I might not be able to resist.

This brunch may have just ruined breakfast for me--in the best possible way. The cherry pastry was…read moregenuinely life-changing. Not that fake, overly sweet maraschino cherry flavor, but actual, vibrant cherries with a whipped crème so good I'd start a small war for it, all wrapped in a pastry crust that every bakery should be studying. Then came the frittata, and somehow it stole the show. It's now my aspirational breakfast. I don't just want to eat it every morning--I want to become the kind of person who eats a breakfast like that every morning. Simple, clean, perfectly executed. An easy 11 out of 10. The mortadella sandwich was something I almost didn't order, and I'm so glad I did. It was unlike anything I've had before--about 60% East Coast deli, 40% Portland creativity, and somehow 1,000% delicious. By the second bite I was completely obsessed. Every dish felt thoughtful without trying too hard, and No Saint has officially become one of those places I'll happily go out of my way to visit again and again. I was very late to the picture game but evidence of what remained

Lil' Barbecue has a reputation coming as an offshoot of a Texas BBQ powerhouse. I've never been to…read moretheir Texas location so I have no way to compare the two. On it's own this place is a strong choice for BBQ. It's done a bit differently here than some other places. For example the wings (Wing Wednesday) are heavily smoked. The prices are not cheap but, very reasonable for the portion size and quality you get. Brisket is what you'd expect and is what I usually get. The sandwiches are good. Mac and Cheese has chilis in it that vary the spice level (sometimes more spicy than I'd like). The Tater Tots are like smashed potato bits and not what you'd expect although I actually like this version as well. Drinks at this location are reasonably prices. They offer several promotions like $10 for 10 wings on Wednesday, Taco Tuesdays and Burgers. Overall, it's worth a visit to see if this is the BBQ that matches your preferences.

We got the all meat platter (comes with 2 sides) and opted to sub the chicken for more pulled pork. Pulled pork 2/5 - thick shredded and fatty. Our group did not enjoy this as it was mostly just meat flavor by itself without heavy saucing. Mac and Cheese 1/5 - soupy velveeta style mac and cheese with some bbq spice flavoring. Perhaps just not our preferred style of mac and cheese. Ribs/Brisket 3.5/5 - tender/juicy for both but note that the brisket is a very thick cut style. Smokey flavor with good spice rub but felt like the flavors were missing something to take it to the next level.

Not only is the food good and the portions are generous, but those meatballs (an add on) is where it's at! They really load up the plates, so you're definitely getting your money's worth here. Don't skip the cannolis - they're one of our favorite things on the menu you get three for each order. The drinks are straightforward, well-made and reasonably priced. No need to Sit Tite for too long, as the service here is fast! They recently expanded their outdoor patio area. Between the patio, pool table, arcade games and its relaxed atmosphere - it's an easy spot to spend a few hours with friends.

TL;DR Local bar with a dive feel but surprisingly delicious meals happy hour from 4-6 with some good deals for drafts and cocktails What to say about Sit Tite... well sit tight and find out! Anyway corny jokes aside this bar can seem mysterious from the outside but it's a great local bar with a great food menu and a pretty solid cocktail list. Being as this is my local bar it's a great place to unwind after a long day of work, or even just to stop by and say hello. The bartenders are friendly the vibes are neighborly and the drinks are flowing. They got a pool table, pinball machines, Photo Booth, patio it's one of those great hangout places (I just wish I had more friends to go there with and share a drink ) needless to say this place is great and their fried lasagna is one of the best I've ever had.
