Let's start off by saying, my mezcal margarita was delicious. My chips and salsa were great. Our server was also very friendly and kept checking in with us. I ordered chile relleno with rice and beans, my wife got the trio of enchiladas. My rice was bland, didnt have any flavor, beans were literally just warm and sprinkled with cheese. No flavor whatsoever. My chile was acceptable, but the cheese was not melted at all. My wife didnt care for her food either, it looked great, but zero flavor. Definitely pass. All im gonna say is, how can you mess up pinto beans at a Mexican restauran?

MX21 is a new spot at the corner of Division and 21st. The building is recently renovated and very beautiful. It also has a "rooftop" which, being on the second floor, is maybe more just like a patio with good views. I went with my partner's work team so we got a variety of dishes and drinks. The food was hit or miss. Chips and salsa for the table were great. It was hard to get a sense of how big each entrée would be based on the menu. I think they could refine things as they move out of their soft opening, especially for a biz aiming to be a little higher end. Service for our large group was friendly and quick. The drinks were all good, so I would keep this place in mind for a happy hour or pregame in particular!

Landed from CA and came straight here as a meeting point for all our gals as we were here to celebrate a Bachelorette. I got here an hour early as they were still flying in and it was empty on a friday afternoon. Parking was easy and the place was so pretty. The interior was so nice to look at and I fell in love with the upstairs patio area. the music was loud but bearable and the place was clean. Service was great and our waitress was really nice and attentive! Once everyone arrived we were all raving over the chips and salsa it was 10/10. It wasn't until we ordered our food that things went a little sideways. I learned this day that TikTok can be a trap. I ordered the Green Chilaquiles and another girl did too but red, another ordered birria tacos and asada nachos. The chilaquiles are made from cheap chips and the salsa on both was nasty. The girl that ordered the birria tacos got an instant stomach ache and the only thing that was decent was the Asada Nachos. We were all so underwhelmed and the only good thing we had to say was that the place was nice but the food was a NO. Ill finish this off by saying that a few hours later I came down with food poisining and it was the only food I had that day :(

Great music and vibe! I enjoyed a spicy margarita and vegan fajitas. The server was attentive and when I was unsure of what to ordered he let me taste the mole sauce to see if would like it. I did not because i don't like my mole sauce sweet I prefer Michuacan style mole. It's sexy vibe

SO DELICIOUS! Delightful people working there as a great team! It felt like everyone was writing together. The property is beautiful and has garage doors to open during the summer and a rooftop bar! Complimentary chips and salsa, the chips were warm and fresh! About an hour from where we live on the south side of Tigard but absolutely worth the trip!

Slow service, food lacks flavor. Ordered the camarones zarandeados and it was not what I was expecting :( The shrimp tasted old and were not the standard style for this dish, they were not butterflied, not grilled in sauce, and the whole shell was still on. It looked like they just threw the whole shrimp into a pan and cooked it with Lawry's seasoned salt. Very disappointed, will not be coming back sadly. probably a cool bar tho and they reimbursed me so I would say service was definitely nice!!

Found while driving by last night while in town. Decided to take family here today. They took reservations for our party of 8 which was great and allow kids. Service was awesome, very friendly and quick and accommodating. The salsa was amazing. Cocktail drinks were great and beer was ice cold on a meat 100 degree day. Sat up top inside with garage door up by roof top, even in the near 100 degree weather, still felt cool inside with a slight breeze coming in. Restaurant is super nice downstairs and upstairs. Upstairs has its own bar as well. Tons of seating. Food was great too. I am picky, I wouldn't say the best, but I would for sure be back to eat again. We all liked it.

Fantastic addition to the neighborhood, great place to watch a game, delicious food, good cocktails! I don't know a better and more festive place to watch a sports game on Division than here. Very kind staff. We will be back!

The food 10/10 Service 10/10 Ambiance was 10/10 I stopped by with friends as we're visiting Oregon and let's just say the food was amazing! Everything tasted so authentic and very fresh. I'll definitely be coming back again when revisiting Oregon-- this might just be my new go-to spot to eat.

Perfect spot for a few drinks and a great meal! The views are beautiful, and the food was delicious. I really appreciated the vegetarian options, and my meat-eating friends were equally satisfied with their dishes. Highly recommend if you're looking for good food, good drinks, and a nice atmospher

Loved this place. I'm in from out of town and found this great place. Both our dishes were delicious! And they have a full bar. I had the cantarito. Highly recommend. Great for large groups and families.

Food was amazing, rooftop had a great vibe, and the staff were super nice. Good spot to hang out and grab a drink & delicious mexican food! My boyfriend had the birria burrito which he said is one of the best burritos he's had in Portland. I had the enchiladas which were also great!

You'll thank me later because we had 5:00pm reservations and arrived to a line standing out the door that was at least 20-30ppl deep at 4:45pm. No worries though as our reservation allowed us to avoid the line and come right in. Once settled in we were greeted by 3 staff members, all with different roles. One to check in for food/drinks, one delivering drinks and one bringing food to the table. All very knowledgable about what they were presenting. The happy hour (5-6pm) is amazing here for the value. $1/each oysters specifically. And these are amazing oysters, probably best I've ever had. The balance of the menu is a mixture of small plates. We had the squash, halibut and lobster roll dishes and they were all professionally plated and crafted with a unique spin on traditional dishes. Highly recommend this place for any seafood lover in Portland!

If you are coming on a weekend you probably want to try to grab a reservation, but both times I've popped up, I've had no trouble getting seated. The server was very friendly and had plenty of recommendations. They have both cocktails and NA drinks. The cocktails are fancy and not your average, though they lean toward mainly tequila and mezcal. They also have classic cocktails available if you aren't feeling adventurous. The desserts are really fun - full of different flavors and textures. We wanted to try everything, but settled on the Toxica and Para Mi Papa. The Toxica was basically guava passion fruit sorbet, but the smear of house made strawberry chamoy gave it a fun kick and the cornflake crunch was the texture it needed. We both really enjoyed it. My favorite was the Para Mi Papa, a delicious take on carrot cake. The orange cream cheese frosting had me questioning why all carrot cake doesn't come with orange cream cheese frosting. The miso spiced ice cream gave it a little salty note that just made the whole thing sing. I was sad to be sharing this one. Definitely a great spot to stop in with some friends or after dinner.

For two people we paid $150 with tip, and that was without desserts and coffee. Things of note from a Friday night summer visit to this place that's been there four years now: High-end presentation. The plating is top level and each thing they place in front of you is like a sculpture or work of art. Nice energy, not at all too loud. They have acoustic tiles on the ceiling and on the concrete floor added a runner that echos the curve of the large bar, which helps. Portion size looked nice and generous from examples of things we saw being brought to tables, such as the salad and focaccia. Best appetizers were fried cauliflower and the asparagus dish w/ the eggs (which would be even better if warm). The one fish entree is the sablefish (ours was underseasoned) that's brought out on thin piece of cedar with edges still slightly charred. It comes with nothing else on the plate so plan accordingly. Just inside the door they have a little snack/pantry curated market of sorts, where you can linger while waiting for seating and can buy things like a cute little bottle of honey for $20 or a colorful crocheted wall hanging basket for $70. Lots of good natural light because of the walls of floor to ceiling windows. Option of ample seating indoors and outdoors because it's a corner location. Cautionary note: We saw and heard a lunatic in hoodie who, at 6pm on a Friday night, walked up to one of the unoccupied outdoor tables and flipped it over, causing the plates and glasses to fly in the air and shattered, landing in shards next to the elderly couple at the next table who jumped up, her understandably in shock and tears. Staff did nice job moving them inside to a twotop, cleaning up the mess, and removing all the seating on that side of the building for the night.

You walk in, and they have a small shelf with ingredients that they use in their food. Everything is so clean and spacious. You know you're going to walk into an amazing meal. We were seated right away, and the wait staff is incredibly friendly and professional. They are so knowledgeable about the menu and gave great direction and advice. Now on to the food: I was simply blown away! They have a happy hour from 4-6 with $2 oysters! The fish was so clean and cooked to perfection! The leek salad was beautifully dressed and came with the most perfect gooey eggs. But the star of the show was the beans; incredibly tender and in the most amazing southern-style collard greens sauce. Everything was so fresh and different! The meal was simply spectacular! I truly cannot wait to go back and try everything. Chef Tim is simply a GENIUS who clearly cares deeply about his food. Not to mention how kind and generous he is as a human being. Thank you so much for one of the most memorable meals I have had in a VERY long time!!
