Patty Silvester is awesome. She has been impressively responsive throughout our shopping experiences. Sent a customer to pick out pavers... he walked out with an almost brand new outdoor kitchen!!! (Although, his wife's eyes looked like they could shoot lasers ha!) that is... until he told her he got EVERYTHING, the grill, mini fridge, cabinetry etc all for $4k!!! (When retail, was about $11k!!) The pavers were great too. And BYL even delivered them down the narrow south end alleyway between abutting brownstones which was rediculously stressful. I thought my jaw was going to fall off. We couldn't even get pick up trucks down there! They brought a forklift on the back of the delivery truck, zipped right down and dropped the pallet EXACTLY where we needed it!!!! Needless to say, very pleased with our experience. Now, had the 2 previous reviewers had more patience, maybe they wouldn't have spent $20-30k on materials but half that AND SCORED SOME! Oh well, their loss - Our gain! We have since gone on to work with BYL for 4 projects. We have gotten to know the team very well. They are responsive to email, pay attention to detail to make sure that nothing is overlooked and when it comes to renovations-- man, even the smallest detail overlooked can have consequences of EPIC proportions. The location is also very convenient, as it's in a large plaza with several other great stores nearby. My only real criticism is the clearance section. It seems fairly limited at this particular location, especially compared with other HomeSense locations I've visited where the clearance sections are much larger. I also feel that some of the clearance pricing here is still higher than I would expect. For example, I saw a large rug originally priced at $600 that had a significant hole in it--large enough that it looked like two sizable pieces were missing. It was marked down to $400, which, in my personal opinion, still seemed quite high for a rug with that substantial of a defect. Overall, I really like this HomeSense and will continue to shop here. I just wish there were more clearance items and that the markdowns reflected the condition of heavily damaged merchandise a little more.

First, let me state that this is my 3rd time at this store in about four years.  My previous visits went well.   Customer service, employee interactions, product selections, and availability were very good.  My experience, this time, was marred significantly by two employees when I sought to check out. Asset employee Jeffrey Porter-he very belligerently gave me his name--was very hostile and kept interjecting negative comments while I was speaking to another employee who was called over in reference to the 15 item limit policy  There was only one cashier on duty at the time at register 5. She was checking out a large order. Additionally, he stated he was "The Enforcer"of store policy. Stated that there was a lot of theft at this store. With all that that implies, it was obvious he believed i was stealing. Otherwise, why bring up theft when im inquiring about policy? And that the manager was not available. When I asked for a number and Store Mgr name, I was told that didn't matter.  This occurred at approximately 8 am. The second employee was a grey haired grandmotherly type and also was rude.  The 3rd employee i interacted with was trying to explain the 15 item limit policy in between comments and interjections from Jeffrey Porter.  However, she did manage to understand that i understood the time of day and staffing of cashiers in the morning and that my issue was the poor customer service I was experiencing from the two employees.  She also stated I would get the store managers name and phone number i could call from the receipt.  The managers name was, "TBD." So. I am going to call the number and see if I can get a name later this morning. I urge all seniors/veterans to avoid this location until such a time as these employees can receive training/retraining or counseling for the PTSD they are obviously suffering from due to to the "thefts" they told me about  in addition to having a manager named TBD.
