On all of my visits, they require the patient to pay their higher Usual and Customary Fees as opposed to their contractually obligated in-network PPO fees. Refunds are made down the line to square the account but in the interim, the patient has forked over significantly higher dollar amounts. Why should the patients serve as their bank? I pushed back on this practice and was met with arrogance, smugness and general ugliness. The billing personnel clearly did not display any interest in understanding how the in-network PPO reimbursement worked. They even threatened to withhold treatment until I acquiesced to their higher fee payment request. It's a shameful way to treat patients and a black eye for such talented dentists and hygienists.

The office is convenient to Matthews and fairly new with a lot of perks of a modern office... tvs mounted above so you can watch whatever you want to while they are working on your pearly whites. The office is super clean and the staff is super friendly. Going to the dentist is not usually a fun experience for anyone, but I have found an office that makes the traumatic experience "not-so-bad." I always look forward to catching up with my hygienist and also with Dr. Grimes every 6 months. I would highly recommend Dr. Grimes to anyone looking for dental services. However, I didn't have a good experience with the dentist. The dentist was nice but wasn't really listening to what I was saying. I wanted to possibly replace a crown, address any problems they found in the X-rays, and that was it. She told me I had multiple cavities between my teeth but didn't show me a single X-ray. She then said I needed Invisalign. I like my smile, I just have a little crowding in my lower teeth. I told her I've had braces twice and I don't mind the crowding. She pushed for the Invisalign and also teeth whitening. I walked out with a list of work I 'needed' (more than $5,000 worth) and was pushed to make an appointment the next day to have impressions taken for the Invisalign. I didn't go back because I was really intimidated. After talking to a family friend who is a dentist, I felt especially uncomfortable about having work ordered after I hadn't seen a single X-ray.

My boyfriend went in for a consultation and while trying to ask questions in regards to the treatment Mark Petryna was trying to encourage was met with extreme hostility and degrading of the referring dentist. Mark Petryna kept cutting him off every time he tried to speak and trying to convey what his primary dentist had said course of treatment should be. Or to ask a question in general. Mark told my boyfriend the dentist only goes to school for 4 years and he knows more than he does and if he wasn't comfortable he could just leave. This very unprofessional and hostile situation was extremely uncomfortable and this oral surgeon should not be allowed to practice if this is the treatment he provides.

I love Pam sooo much! I have been going to her for a long time. She does a thorough cleaning and always gives me suggestions on ways to improve my dental health. My appointments are always on time and I always leave happy with my service. The receptionist knows me by name which is a nice touch! Dr Forrest is wonderful as well. The office was redone recently. The chairs have light back massagers in them and there is a tv to watch while you get your cleaning. I have never had an Insurance issue and have switched insurance companies a couple of times. I am very thankful to have Barone and Ford to help me with my family's dental needs. I originally…read morewent to a different dental firm, which said that I had a "cavity" that needed to be filled.  I was a bit surprised since I had lived well into my late 30's or early 40's without a cavity.  However, I thought, "Well, I guess it could happen."  So I got the other dental firm to take care of the "cavity".  At a later visit to the other dental firm, they said I had another "cavity".  At that point, red flags went off.  I take care of my teeth, so two "cavities" in such a short time frame was really surprising to me.  My husband had been going to Barone & Ford for quite some time, and he recommended that I go to Barone & Ford. Thankfully, I got a second opinion from Barone and Ford. As it turned out, I didn't have a cavity that required filling.  Needless to say, it made me wonder if the first "cavity" needed to be filled. Regardless, I switched to Barone & Ford and never looked back.  Over a decade has passed, and that "cavity" still has not needed to be filled... They are honest people who do great work. Everyone in my family loves them! P.S. - They do check and charge insurance in a timely manner. I am a bit surprised about the other review, as we have never had a problem with Barone & Ford billing our insurance. They send a bill/notification both pre and post insurance payment, and we have never owed a large amount owed for a regular cleaning after it was processed by insurance. We have been going to them for over a decade without an issue.

Got a few hundred dollar bill for a routine exam and dental cleaning and after calling 7 times about the bill, clearly irritated, the front desk rep told me to stop being combative and to let her get a word in. If I said that to one of my patients questioning a bill for the 7th time I would be fired. Never returning and making sure to let others know not to waste their time.
