    After having rented several times with SIXT the last year and a half and having great experiences then, this current time has solidified I will never be a customer again. I was given a small SauV with a major crack in the windshield. When picking up I thought maybe it was a water drip because the car was wet from the wash and a service rep had pulled it forward so I could get my copious amounts of luggage in since I was flying coast to coast and staying a while. He had moved the car away from a lost - very nice. However once out of the garage it was very clear it was a massive crack! I immediately called customer service to report and get the car exchanged. I could not turn around and go back that moment as 1) exhausted from cross continental trip 2) had waited in a very long line (unusual for SIXT) to check in 3) said long line had eaten up my time and I had to be somewhere. So the customer service rep says "you're driving it, so it's fine"!!? I can pay to have it towed and switched out or go back. Ummmm ? So I call back and speak w a manager who at least understood the car needed to be switched out. She said she would be connecting w the local team and stay by my phone for 24 HOURS (yes ... stay by the phone for 24 hours lol) awaiting a call. Next day I received two random number calls, picked up waited said hello .... No one ever came on. Next thing I get an email saying "we tried to call you. Come switch out the car or pay for it to be towed" Ummm what? I'm working long days have just paid $750 for the week and now I'm supposed to find the time to come deal w a problem I never shoukd have had because I was given a car that shouldn't be on the road?! I emailed I never received a call nor was there a voicemail left (basic customer service / professionalism one would think - documentation). I responded to the email (four times now - with photos) ... we are four days in now and I still have the undriveabke car no one has called or emailed. DO NOT RENT HERE. Thankfully I took photos and video of the car before leaving ... two men were doing this and I thought maybe I should too. One told me he was hassled for $3500 one time for damage he did not do. He wouldn't use SIXT except his company makes them. Another guy had similar story.

    They had what we needed. Large family vehicle, no travel restrictions and the customer service was wonderful.

When I ordered the car online, I first saw a price that looked very reasonable. I was about to click the button but I saw a message suggesting I sign up for membership to get an even better price. So I went to do that, and when I came back to order a car the price had doubled. I was afraid it would keep going up, so I just went ahead with it. Then the next day I was still bugged by this so I called customer service. The guy told me I should be able to get the original price, but he couldn't do it -- I'd have to bring it up when I returned the car after my rental. He promised me that he made a note about it and gave me a case #. 2. Went to pick up the car. The "intermediate" class car I'd reserved was no available. The woman at the counter offered me a mini-van. I did not want that because a) I wanted a trunk b) fuel cost c) Don't want to navigate around with a mini-van. Only when I suggested I could wait did she investigate and say a car would be available in half an hour. It ended up being an hour, but I was given a compact. This is smaller than the Intermediate I'd reserved, but she refused to lower my rate and insisted I had ordered "economy." I have the email to prove she's wrong. 3. The trunk button on the remote did not work, but I could open trunk from inside the car. Not that big of a deal, but, just another detail. 4. I had reserved/pre-paid the car for 3 days and indicated a time I expected to return it. On that day, I realized I'd need to keep it a few more hours. The rental price is per day, not per hour. But I called just to be helpful to let them know I'd be a little late in case that impacted another customer. I was told by Avis Customer Service that I'd have to pay for an additional day. I had little choice, so I accepted this. 5. When I returned the car, this woman was very nice and professional, but told me she could not handle issue #1. That I should call customer service. But she said my problem happened to customers all the time and I should get a reduction in price. ALSO: she told me #4 was a lie and indeed I was not getting charged extra. So, good news, but the call-center customer service sucks. 6. When I finally got home I called customer service about Issue #1. I was told that there was no note promising a price reduction, so he could not help me. He told me he could escalate it, and a supervisor would reach out to me within a few days. Nobody reached out to me. In short: The car was fine, but you can't trust their customer service. Never use Avis.

    BE AWARE OF SCAM!! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE…read more I reserved a full size SUV a few days ago. When I first arrived I was told my car is not available. However, there was a woman at the counter who claimed to be the manager said they could swap it with a EV with no additional cost. I was fine with the replacement but confused about the "additional cost" she was referring to. I knew the EV costs less. So I asked for a price difference refund because at the time that I booked my car, EV was $30 cheaper than the SUV. She refused and bluntly lied to me multiple times: 1) she said the EV is more expensive. When I corrected her and showed her the online quote of both cars for a later date since all inventories that day were fully booked so she had no proof, she said whatever price I saw online in the past has "expired" and she will only reference today's price which was not even available. I told her if I wanted to book an EV I could've done it a few days ago on a much cheaper price. I decided not to as I am traveling with my 2 year old so making stops to charge is less ideal. It was not my fault that the car I booked was not available so why would I have to take a financial loss to cover their mistake? She simply blamed the website. She then kept repeating herself asking me to reference to "today's rate" which was nowhere to be found. 2) she walked away and came back and started saying she tried to reach out to me in advance but the phone number on file was invalid. Later that day, when I called the Avis customer service to file a complaint, the service representative explicitly confirmed my cell number on file was correct. On the other side, this location never picked up their phone calls. There were two other groups of people at the same time in the office with me who were having the same issue - ordered an SUV but were offered to swap to an EV. The option was either wait an hour for the SUV (I was not even offered this option) or get the EV right away with "no additional cost" (keep in mind EV costs less). This could be a new way for them to rip off people by having their customers to pay more for a cheaper rental. DO NOT RENT A CAR FROM THAT LOCATION OR BE READY FOR YOUR TRAVEL PLAN TO BE RUINED.

Faith Joseph suggested I get the brakes repaired at their expense. Umm, no thanks! Then she said the system was down but they'd call when the computers were working or I could call to follow up. I called at 1pm and was put on hold. After 30 minutes I headed to Enterprise. No-one clicked back over to say "our system is still down, we'll call you when it's working." I got in line and disconnected the call, 3 agents were at the desk. I explained that I'd been left on hold indefinitely. Tyler said, "That's cause the system had been down." It wasn't much of a greeting and no apology or status update was provided. 15 minutes later I asked if the system was back up. "No." Someone could have mentioned that.. I said I'd written a good review but it's bad service to leave customers on hold indefinitely then ignore them in line. Faith became defensive and argumentative, stating "the system was down when you called, it was down when you got in line and it's down now." She repeatedly called me rude and raised her voice. When I said the conversation was unproductive, Faith said "I can talk as long as I want. I don't have to listen to you." Faith said she should terminate my contract and because she is the branch manager I have no recourse. I have never been treated so rudely. Eventually, I gave up and left. A few hours later after I'd already gassed up and driven home, Ada called to say the system was back up. I returned and switched into a safer car. What could have been remedied with a courteous phone call escalated into a 7 hour ordeal. Ada and Bobby were great. Unfortunately, Faith's unprofessionalism and hostility ruined the entire experience. Returning the car was smooth, a very nice lady checked me out and dropped me off half a mile away. I received my receipt via email. But the damage is done. I will never patronize this Enterprise again. Renter beware!

    Thrifty Rents Electric cars to customers and doesn't tell them. They also tell customers it takes…read moregas when it doesn't. They rented us an Electric car that we didn't reserve or ask for at the Atlanta airport location. They also tried to upswell a car we didn't rent and charge us an additional $500. We were told the car they gave us takes gas and it did not!!!!!!! We nearly broke down at the 2 hour mark on a 8 hour drive to Savannah which should have taken 4 hours!!! This is all because of the personal who is untrained and gives WRONG information. There was no way we could drive it back to Atlanta and risk it breaking down or missing our performance. We were on a time crunch and cannot stop at every charging station making the trip and additional 4 hours. We went to Savannah airport the next day to exchange the electric car for one that took gas. However, they made us pay for a completely new car reservation. They took the Electric car back. They said they would email Thrifty at Atlanta airport to let them know the electric car was returned. However, they refused to CC us on the email. Guess what???!!! The email was never sent. We returned the car that took gas the next day to Atlanta and they said they had NO record of us returning the electric one in Savannah. But get this! When they scanned the car that took gas back as a return they scanned the wrong car as it was the electric one! So now everything is screwed up. And there's no proof of us returning either car and they will not close the accounts. On top for that, we are paying for 2 car rentals. I keep calling 912-966-2277. But no one picks up. I can't get in touch with anyone. AND NO ONE is handling this properly. I want a refund or I'm calling and reporting to the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. Someone could get in a major accident. Thrifty cannot tell a customer a car takes gas when it doesn't!!!!!! Then charge us extra for a new car and never close the account.

They took my info, I stiff-armed the BS about their insurance - which even a moron knows is a total rip off. But wait, there's more. After I waited an hour in line to reach the desk, and then about 15 minutes for the paperwork, I was informed that there would be a further wait to actually receive the car. So here I am sitting own the floor of the office along with 100 other pissed off travelers waiting for cars to be dealt out. 3 1/2 hours of my life that I'll never get back, but I learned a valuable lesson. Don't rent from Dollar/Thrifty in Atlanta Airport ever again!
