I've had excellent experiences renting from this location! The staff is always friendly, the prices are competitive, and the drop-off process is seamless. They also have an impressive selection of new BMW models. I wasn't really into BMW before, but after renting here, I'm even considering buying one. Unlike Enterprise, which often gives you a car with less than half a tank of gas (wasting time filling up both during and at the end of the rental), this location has both times provided cars ready to go with a full tank. The only minor downside is that their cars tend to have a very strong perfume or deodorant smell, which might not be everyone's preference. Overall, highly recommended! read more

Had a confirmed 4:00pm reservation at Sixt Venice, CA on Jan 20, 2026 and arrived by taxi at 3:59pm. The employee (Patrick B) immediately said I "should not have been able to make the reservation," then told me the car I reserved was unavailable. I was offered a different vehicle but told I'd have to pay an extra $20+ per day because it was an "upgrade," even though Sixt could not honor the original reservation. When I calmly explained that I should not be charged more for Sixt's error and said I would take the car and contact customer service afterward, the employee refused to help me, said the location was closed, and told me to leave--at approximately 4:04pm. I was left without a car during rush hour and was late picking up my two kids from school. I was never rude or disrespectful at any point. Shocking lack of customer service. WARNING: Document everything if you rent here. They are attempting to charge me for pre-existing damage and that appears to be a common occurrence at this location based on online reviews. Do not rent from this location unless you take a meticulous video of the entire car before leaving the lot. The car provided was 3 years old with high mileage, worn-out windshield wipers and had at least 8 locations of pre-existing damage. This was a vehicle condition that most other agencies would have sold off by now. The counter staff were actually really nice, so I had hopes of a good experience. After returning the car, I received a claim for new damage for conditions that were pre-existing. Because I had read numerous online reviews mentioning this specific issue at this location, I was prepared. I had time-stamped video proof showing the damage was present at the time of pickup. If this happens to you, since this seems to be a pattern at this location, do what I did: use your video evidence to file a formal complaint with the Los Angeles County Department of Consumer & Business Affairs. Honestly, giving them two stars is generous. We recently rented a vehicle from the SIXT location on Venice/Lincoln and were extremely disappointed. We chose this location based on a previously great experience with the SIXT near the airport, but unfortunately, this visit was the complete opposite; it did not feel like a "luxury" rental experience at all. The customer service from the associate who handed us the car was rude and borderline offensive. To make matters worse, the vehicle itself was filthy. It clearly hadn't been cleaned, there were potato chip crumbs all over the passenger-side console and used floss picks left in the back seat. The exterior was also covered in dents. I've had better experiences renting from Budget. It was honestly so bad that we felt like we had to clean the car ourselves just to feel comfortable driving it. To their credit, the associate who accepted the vehicle upon return did ask about our experience and genuinely tried to make things right, which I appreciated. But unfortunately, it didn't erase the poor first impression or the unpleasant overall experience. I heard a customer being rude to one of your workers because of the lack of parking, what I wanted to ask was how is that the employees fault???? And how is that fair? It isn't! I hope you are aware of how rude, disrespectful and downright insensitive people are these days and the employees to stand there and endure that while maintaining their dignity. The parking is challenging and I had to circle around the area to find a spot so I could turn the car in. There's NO convenient place to park. I'd really like to know why that location is on a piece of a corner? It's a very tight space. It would be advisable to relocate to a much larger location that has ample parking space. So please put that into consideration! Us customers would be happy to have more elbow space. Lincoln is highly saturated with traffic. I'll try to make this as short as possible but how short can you really make a 6 month battle to get back $4000 you were wrongfully charged! So, brother in law and husband rented car end of February-2 week rental. Returned car after 2 weeks and everything is good (so we thought) 2 months later (in May!) I get a charge for over $5000. After a month of run around and refusal to provide any documentation, they say we didn't return the car for 2 months and left it in Salt Lake City?! Whaaaat??? It was returned to the studio city location we got it from exactly 2 weeks after picking it up!!! They did research and recognized it was an error and said they would refund-couple weeks later-no refund. I dispute with cc company and they respond to dispute that we had the car for 2 months (AFTER ALREADY ADMITTING WE DIDNT AND IT WAS AN ERROR ON THEIR END!) so cc company won't refund now! Go into branch and they also claim it was an error on their end and the employee we returned it to even remembers us and confirmed!! Got an email from manager stating the car was returned after 2 weeks and he would remediate the problem and after another month of texts and saying he had to escalate this to a dept in Germany, finally a refund was approved, that was over 3 weeks and NO REFUND STILL. This is $4000 that we don't owe (total was over $5000 and I have no problem aging what's owed for the actual rental but the exact refund is $3906.07!!!!!!!) no one can help. No one has answers. Don't call back when they say. I literally have documentation that they admitted fault and still can't get $4000 back!!!!!!!!! I own various auto repair, auto maintenance and business management companies so I usually need a car or three for my clients. Recently I suffered a divorce which caused me to lose all my vehicles. I have five kids, a poodle and a treacherous commute so being without transportation wasn't an option. I was renting from Avis paying 250+ a week for a mid at best car. I was scrolling through Instagram and came across a SIXT rental car ad. I decided to cruise their site and discovered their cars were better than the competition and much nicer. I realized with my Founders Card membership, I was able to secure Platinum Tier status so I decided to go down and see if I could secure a much affordable rental to get me through this rough patch. I explain the above situation and she patiently listen, asked my budget, and helped me get into a car that suited me and my family. I cannot begin to tell you how this seemingly small transaction has impacted my life. A weight was immediately lifted off my shoulders. This is long. DO NOT BOOK WITH SIXT. We recently rented a Toyota Four Runner for a cross country trip from Santa Monica, CA to Lexington, KY and return. We experienced a rock strike to the windshield on June 9, 2022 that resulted in a crack that is currently about a foot long. We immediately called Sixt national # to inquire about a replacement vehicle or to get the windshield fixed. The customer service person @ Sixt directed us to go to the Sixt location in Cincinnati, OH for a replacement vehicle, so we took a whole day out of our vacation to drive from Lexington, KY to Cincinnati, OH (~ 175 miles round trip) for that replacement. Although the employee there was pleasant enough, she could not/would not give us a replacement - nor could she get the windshield replaced. Failure #1: the customer service employee didn't coordinate ahead of time to ensure the Cincinnati location could give us a replacement so we drove that ~ 175 miles and wasted an entire day of our vacation on a worthless trip to Ohio. Upon our return, we called the Sixt national number (888-749-8227) easily a dozen times. Despite repeated tries, we could not get the automated response system to transfer us to a human. A couple of the menu selections do not work. The automated response teller will simply direct us to call back and then hang up. There seems to be no ability to press zero to "jump directly" to a human being. We couldn't leave a call back number. We then called the Sixt customer service number in Indianapolis, IN (317 688-6121). They were unable/unwilling to help. According to that person, she didn't even have the ability to call across locations to get some help for us. Zero help. Frustrated, I resorted to trying to alert Sixt to our issue via email. First email to Sixt customer service (customerservice-usa@sixt.com) at 9:46am Eastern time on Friday, June 10, 2022. That email included a request for a call back as well as our confirmation number. We received a response from Octavia (Sixt Customer Service Department) four days later on 14 June 2022 @ 1:46pm. In that email, she asked for our confirmation number - the number that we included in our first email. I replied on 14 June 2022 @ 1:53pm with a detailed explanation of what we need. Malcom (from Sixt Customer Service) replied on 17 June 2022 @ 2:26pm with a detailed apology - that appears to be simply a form letter. That reply addresses nothing about my issue and offers zero solutions. I replied back to Malcom on 17 June 2022 @ 4:11pm and asked for a Sixt employee to call me so that we can discuss the obvious safety issues of driving around with a cracked windshield. Danica replied on 21 June 2022 @ 4:57 with an email that included an apology and yet another request for the ten digit confirmation number that was included in my first email on 10 June 2022. If you're keeping track, that's the second time a Sixt customer service employee asked me for the confirmation number that I gave them in my first email on 10 June 2022 - the same email that is included at the bottom of this new email thread. Either the Sixt customer service personnel are not reading the emails or their training is to simply wait three or four days before replying to emails, never call despite requests for a phone call, and never address our issues and never offer any true solutions or answers. My wife replied to the Customer Service email on 21 June 2022 @ 10:05pm with a screenshot that included our confirmation number and the vehicle license plate number. I replied - again - on 21 June 2022 @ 8:03pm, 22 June 2022 @ 10:33pm, and 23 June 2022 @ 12:05pm - each time voicing our increasing frustration at why no one from Sixt will simply call me back. I tried calling their help line again on 23 June 2022. No human picked up. We are returning the vehicle on 24 June 2022 and will never use Sixt again. This issue - one that could have easily been resolved on day one by Sixt has simply festered and has been left unresolved by at least five Sixt customer service reps (Danica, Octavia, and Malcom via email - along with the Sixt employee in Cincinnati (in person) and the Sixt employee in Indianapolis, IN (via phone). Their emails feel simply like they're following a script or templated replies, so when their notes begin with an "apology for any inconvenience" and then do nothing to address or even discuss my basic issue - really rings a little hollow - especially when we repeatedly asked someone to call us. Their approach seems to be (a) do a really good job of reserving and handing the vehicle off to the customer at the start of the agreement, (b) ignore the customer's phone calls and emails when issues arise, and (c) when they do respond to emails, wait three or four days before doing so, repeatedly ask for the same information that they have already been given, and then do nothing to address the issue. Nice work, Sixt. You lost us as a customer. read more

3.5 stars, as we had an overall good experience renting a car over Thanksgiving weekend. We made an online reservation with Sixt for a compact car and picked it up as scheduled. We could have picked it up as early as 7AM on Thanksgiving Day but ended up arriving around 11AM. By then they were out of compact cars so they gave us a free upgrade to mid-size, which was a brand new Toyota Camry...score! Loved the car, but I have to knock my review down half a star because unfortunately the Bluetooth wasn't working and the USB port also didn't output our phone audio through the car stereo, which was a bummer. We wanted to be able to stream music off our phones into the car stereo but instead we had to drive with it playing out of the phone's tiny speaker. I would give this location another star if they had an additional staff member at the rental counter. We were lucky to be only second in line because otherwise, there was only one employee manning the front, which I could see could result in some long waits. We ended up leaving house keys in the car, so it was a good experience that the staff removed them and kept them in the lost and found where we could pick it up the Monday after the holiday weekend. read more

$659 charge for mileage from a company who claims all vehicles have unlimited mileage. On 3/29/20 I rented a rental car from Sixt car rental. The reason for the rental was to spend the next 3 weeks on a road trip delivering personnel throughout the US during the Covid outbreak. Prior to choosing Sixt car rental I went online and shopped all options. I chose Sixt rental because the price was reasonable the mileage on all of their vehicles was unlimited. They also had a rental facility near me where I started the trip in Los Angeles. I called the rental facility and asked if I should rent a vehicle online or just walk in. They instructed me just to come in. Once at the Venice Beach facility we discussed the rental. My big concern for the rental was that the vehicle would have unlimited mileage and that the rental date could be extended In case I where to get stuck at a border crossing of something else unexpected happened due to Covid. During the initial rental I was informed that All Sixt car rentals had unlimited mileage, and that if I were to need to extend my rental, all I would have to do is contact the corporate office. I was told the rental could be extended indefinitely at the same daily rental rate without issue. I rented the car and started on the trip. As it turned out the trip needed to be extended another week. I contacted corporate office who transferred the contract to a long term rental. I was informed that everything under the initial agreement would be the same and that I would continue to be charge the same daily rate. On 4/4/2020 I made it back to Los Angeles and drop car off at the Venice Beach rental office. My total charge for the 36 days of rental was an expected charge of $582. However, I was then informed that I have exceeded my mileage allotment and was being charged an additional $659 for mileage. I was confused in that I was specifically told the car had unlimited mileage and disputed the charge. I was told that I would have to take up any dispute with the corporate office. On 4/4/2020 contacted corporate office and told them the issue. I was informed by the corporate manager that the err had been in the transfer from the short term lease to the long-term lease. He reiterated that all rentals were unlimited mileage and that the problem could easily be fixed by the local office manager. I was told that the problem would be fixed the charge removed and that the office manager would contact me within 24 hours. Non of that happened. In the following week I have contacted the corporate office 6 times. Every time I have called I have asked to speak to a manager. Every time I have been told a manager was unavailable or on the other line but that he would contact me within the business day. I have never received a return call from any manager local or corporate. On the last call I asked to speak to a manager and told the staff member I would hold until one was available. After approximately one hour of waiting on hold I was hung up on. In conclusion I'm very disappointed in Sixt rental. It appears that the company culture is one that that lies and deceives. Prior to this rental I told the office agent exactly what I was doing where I was going and what I needed out of the vehicle. The fact that this company will behave in this way during this time is despicable. The customer service department lies and makes empty promises. Despite being specifically told the vehicle was free of mileage charges I have even suggested we come up with a reduced compromise price so that we could end the disputed. I was told that decision would have to be made by a manager who refuses to answer a phone call. I will never recommend nor rent from Sixt car rental cars again. I have been a longtime AVIS customer for decades and have used many of their off airport sites on the Westside that included Marina del Rey, Santa Monica, Westwood and West Los Angeles. I tried SIXT about two years ago and have stucked with them since! I don't travel as much as I have in the past, but SIXT is a new kind of rental service that has a far better selection of vehicle and their customer service agents truly excel! I used to work with Iman at the Venice location and she couldn't be more helpful, cheerful and professional. I was sad to hear she had moved on. The ease of reservation and processing of the car is fast and simple which I truly like. I know this is a European firm and they bring a different perspective to this industry. They don't clean and prep a vehicle when it is returned, but wait until it is re-rented, so even though I have a reservation, my vehicle is only being cleaned now that i have shown up. What's up with that? I may be misunderstanding what's going on here, but it seems like to turn a car in, you have to get in line behind the crowd waiting to rent. The whole point of us renting with Sixt was because they claimed they had at least one, and had we known that we wouldn't have rented with Sixt and would have instead rented a less expensive Economy car from whomever offered the best price. They pulled a Bait-and-switch on us and we realize we were never going to get a Smart Car. Second, after finding out we would be receiving our "free upgrade" (we had no choice to take, as we were leaving for our trip immediately after picking the car up) as we waiting outside the employee pulled up the Yaris and we couldn't believe our eyes. The car had a giant dent in the front bumper with a hole in it, the front bumper was also still completely covered in dead bugs. The entire exterior of the car was filthy, covered in smudges and streaks like it was wiped down with a dirty rag, the windshield was so smudged you could barely see out of it and there was also a large half cleaned off sticker on the drivers side passenger window. The interior was filthy as well, it also looked like it was barely wiped down and whatever was wiped down was done with the same dirty rag as the exterior. We spoke with the nice employee at the front desk and the only options we were given were to either keep the car or drive all the way over to the LAX location to exchange it for another one. When we arrived at the LAX location the 3 employees at the Return area were shocked to hear that we were given the car less than an hour prior to that time in the condition it was currently in. So we had to drive all the way to the LAX location were we received a new Yaris, which we then were told by the employee we were to return the car to them (the LAX location) - Which we did and when we received the bill, we were charged a $49 fee for returning it to the wrong location (which is in the middle of being disputed). I do like the company, but I have to say this location sold me on it. The customer service went above and beyond. I was running late and the employees at this location went out of their way to help me get my car and rental agreement fast. One employees especially Peng at this location was probably the most pleasant and professional individual I have delt with at a car rental company in five years. When I went to pick up my car, I was told that the reservation was cancelled (without my doing) and was SOL. After picking up the vehicle a warning light for the tire pressure came on indicating it was low. The tire had a slow leak and every time I stopped for gas I had to put air in the tire. Upon return, I informed the employee handling my return that it was a safety concern and should not be rented out again until it's fixed. They told me they would credit my account for the safety trouble but I did not receive anything on my invoice. I was also charged an additional $100 for a cleaning fee / pet hair fee. My husband and I rented a car while visiting California. I called the location a few weeks prior to our arrival in California and spoke to Korra. She was professional, answered all my questions and even helped me make a reservation. To my surprise, when we picked up our rental on March 30, Korra was there and rented us the car. She was very friendly & made the experience a fun and memorable one. The reason I gave 4 stars is because the office location is small and very confusing for picking up a car rental and dropping a car back off. There isn't a parking lot or numbered spots of any kind. On a positive note, upon returning the car Vanessa made the transaction smooth and painless. She was also very helpful. Our overall experience was AWESOME and we would DEFINITELY rent again! read more

The reason they are receiving 3 stars instead of 2 is due to the customer service rep named Ms. Smith. I made my reservation and arrived at exactly the time I scheduled for my pickup this past Saturday May 13th. While walking in I was greeted by Ms. Smith immediately. She was handling the equivalent customers to Stalin and Mussolini during that greeting. So from 845A on, I observed her handle these three Brazilians like a pro. They had entirely screwed up while booking their reservation and proceeded to scream at each other in Portuguese, while being rude to Ms. Smith the entire time. She truly needs to be acknowledged for her superior customer service. Now with all of this being said, where was her backup? There we no additional customer service reps working, therefore this lead me to wait almost 35 minutes to be waited on. Ms. Smith actually tried early on to assist me while they were arguing in Portuguese, however they demanded she finish with them. She was finally able to assist me when they were arguing on the phone with SixT customer service 800 number. Ms. Smith was now operating two computers alone, while even still offering these belligerent guest bottles of water. My disappoint is with the management of this rental car facility. This agent was left out to handle everyone by herself. Hopefully this improves for the future, but please be thankful for having someone handle the insanity that was this day. What I forgot to mention was that a line of 5 more formed behind me. I was satisfied with the car rental, the quality of the car, and the price. These pluses and the service from Ms. Smith will bring me back again in the future. read more

2 stars instead of 1 because the guy who did get us in a car was helpful. I booked a premium class just so that I could get into a Mercedes. I showed up earlier than my reservation and there were 2 left. The worker said I was too early and my car wasn't ready. Came back an hour later and both Benz had been rented out so they give me a Volvo wagon. She told me to call back later because they had some Mercedes being returned. I've called back 4 times and now she's being rude because I don't want to pay premium fees for a station wagon. She referred me to go to LAX to see what they have. I was nervous about getting our rental after reading some of the negative reviews, but we couldn't have had a better experience with them. Our flight arrived early and we had our baggage really quickly so we had arrived at Sixt nearly an hour and a half before our reservation started. Our car wasn't ready, but they stored our luggage for us while we went and grabbed lunch. When we came back the type of vehicle we had requested was not available, so we were upgraded. They had additional options (insurance, gas, etc.) we could purchase, but they weren't pushy about it. Our vehicle was next to brand new, and was very clean. It was a pleasure to drive it and I was a little sad when I had to take it back! Lol If I'm ever back in the area, I will definitely rent a car from Sixt. read more

What a horrible car rental place. I've had terrible experiences but to have this place tops all of them by a mile. First, the "agents" (her name was Vanessa) in the office lie to me about my towed rental car. Then they make up a story about how I was speaking to the 800 number customer service (lie) and not the local branch. She didn't know the procedure about what to do so she made up a story about how it's not the local office job. Another lie. Then I called multiple times to speak to someone in the branch. They didn't answer for 15 min. Then they did answer and lie about how I was speaking to the help desk and not the branch. Another lie. These are not people that should have jobs. She was covering up the fact that her manager was in Austria til Monday and she didn't know how to do her job. Now my towed car stays overnight (another $200 in fines) cause these morons told me at noon that someone was going to take care of it today when in reality I could have gone myself. read more

I rented a car from here, going for the "cheaper" rate. Well, you get what you pay for. The car I reserved was not actually available which is fine.. I truly don't care what kind of car I have. I arrived 10 minutes before they closed, on my way home from work. (It was dark outside) They had no room in their parking lot to pull up the car they would be giving me. They rushed my reservation since the "shift was almost over" and gave me the keys to a car sitting on a side street, next to the building, with no lighting for a proper inspection. Good car, no troubles, drove straight through to my destination. I then went to return my one way rental car, again after dark, where they inspect it with a flash light. Funny as they didn't have a flashlight for my inspection. They notice a brush burn on the driver door and tell me I am responsible. On my mother's eyes, nothing happen while it was in my care. Now they are trying to charge me $1,000 for the repair. I sent a letter in stating my side of the story and they won't budge. I will never be using Sixt again and I encourage anyone reading this to not support this company. I rent from enterprise right up the street very often and I am treated like a customer they actually care about. $1,000 for a repair that should not be my responsibility number one and number two, it probably took them 10 minutes to touch up the mark from someone they have on staff at $20 per hour. I don't care what the policy says... honestly it should have never accepted my reservation since I reserved the SUV with my DEBIT card... now I have to pay $160 extra because I have to go somewhere else day off to pick up a car!!!!!
