She said I needed a printed translation of my international license, even though I had a photo and a valid U.S. driver's license -- just like in all my past rentals. Worst car rental company! First they didn't have the care that we chose weeks in ahead, they made us wait for 2 hours because "no cars were available " despite us arriving on time to pick up the car that we reserved. Employees were telling us different things about availability. Linette was very unhelpful, and tried to pressure us into getting a car that she had chosen for us, which is very unprofessional. We also got charged for insurance that we verbally declined, just for us to get yelled at by another employee upon drop off, and were told that we can't read. First and last time dealing with this company. One more thing, the shuttle service is a joke, all other rentals had consistant multiple shuttles but budget, that made us wait for about 40min and by that time there always already over 50 people waiting. I have rented many cars throughout my life ( Enterprise & Hertz ) and I have to say that this BUDGET rental location has been the best experience ever!!! The manager ( I didnt catch his name ) was awesome! Very friendly and helpful! Getting the car I reserved was easy and quick! Once I was done at the counter, I walked out to the area where the cars were and the attendant showed me the car. We did our regular walk-around check to make sure all was okay! The attendant was really chill and friendly. When I returned the car a few days later, the same attendant was there. He checked my rental back in and I was done. Recently rented from this location for a trip up to Big Bear. My brother was visiting from out of town, and realized another rental company/flight aggregate service duped him on a reservation he had placed weeks ago. It was crazy day, with mercury retrograde in full effect, and we just needed a car and needed to get on the road. We were already late AF, and going to be late AF for our event. We raced over to this location after speaking with an agent over the phone, hoping they still had vehicles left. Oh, the Holidaze. Never thought I'd say it, but they had a pretty dope brand new ford focus with heated seats left in the lot, and we were on it. The agent that helped us, TES, was very pleasant and agreed to help us though they were close to closing time. We got our car and were on the road within 15 minutes. Thank you, TES for your professionalism, willingness to help and great attitude. I will definitely be returning to this location in the future. read more

I rent quite frequently for work, and personally, since my car was stolen, and I decided not to bother replacing it. I often need a vehicle that will readily accommodate a wheelchair for my dad, and these guys always try to work with me if there are options available. I certainly have no expectations from them beyond what I specifically reserved, but they do seem to make me feel like an appreciated customer, with an occasional upgrade, and like my business is important, every time. I usually pick up a vehicle on Friday, at lunch, and keep it 2 days, returning on Sunday around the same time, or Saturday mornings returning on Monday mornings, if I need the car all day on Sunday, since they close on Sundays at 2pm. There are only 2 guys working the counter here, and a couple guys who work out in the lot wiht the cars. They (Ryan and Tes) are informative, helping me clearly understand the various options, and most importantly the insurance coverages. I always buy the liability coverage, since I do not have a car, and hence my own liability insurance. My visa card extends coverage to the rental car, thankfully, so I do not need to purchase the damage to the car insurance. The cars tend to be clean, and in good repair too. All in all, this is the kind of vendor I want in my life....one that makes the process simple, painless, and pleasant every time. Keep up the good work guys! As for the review complaining of arriving after closing time, and not being served, I think that's a little unfair to give them a 1 star review for that. They were closed. Do other businesses typically re-open, after closing, to handle your business? Perhaps try to plan so you are not arriving right at closing time? read more

Very disappointed with their process to take a car. First of all they did not have a car which I wanted. They suggested me to rent a van instead of a small car which I want( why I should drive a van???). Secondly, at the website it did not shown that I should pay required insurance which cost 25 bucks for one day. I rented before in enterprise and paid 4$. So i was told by 2 of my coworkers that i could rent a car from here with out having a Credit Card, but i see that's not the case. Its close to my house. Waited in line for Budget rental shuttle to take me from LAX to the rental car location and we waited for 30 minutes and only 3 budget shuttles drove past. Each of the shuttles were full and didn't stop at the United Airlines terminal. While waiting we saw at least 10 Enterprise shuttles, 10 Hertz shuttles, 10 Avis shuttles, and 5 Dollar shuttles. We were forced to take a taxi which cost us $20. I will never be purchasing a Budget rental car because that is simply unacceptable. This shows that they are either inept at running a business or they don't care enough about their customers to pay for more shuttles and employees. Even if another option is slightly more expensive, I will be taking that over Budget. For those deciding to use Budget, be prepared to be disappointed. read more

Their policy is if the card is rejected because your bank put a stop to the payment due to out of state transaction, they require 24 hours to use the card again. Their payment shows transaction from Virginia Beach instead of Los Angeles. Well, there is a reason I always used enterprise of hertz! Call your banks before processing payments with them! read more

I found this Budget Rental location convenient because I work in Koreantown, Los Angeles. I appreciated the friendly service, I was in and out fairly quickly, they didn't try to oversell on additional things (like insurance, other options, upgrades), and they had a good number of selection of cars. I initially made my reservation through Expedia.com and I had to extend my rental agreement for extra days. I was able to easily do this over the phone and for the same rate. Budget has a nasty scam going right now. I picked up a rental car at LAX from Budget - had made a reservation and was quoted a all inclusive price of $119 for a one day, one way rental to Santa Barbara. Upon picking up the vehicle, I made it clear that I did not want any supplementary coverages because I am covered elsewhere - and the agent completely understood this. He said I just needed to initial all the appropriate boxes on the screen - which I did. Little did I know (and he made no effort to make this clear to me) that I was actually initialing to ACCEPT the supplementary coverage. For years, I have been signing these same forms and it has ALWAYS been to indicate that I am declining the supplmenetary coverages so I didn't even bother to read the fine print. Well, this time I got a billedl for all the supplementary charges and after endless attempts to get through to Budget customer service, they now tell me that there is no way they will reverse the charges because I signed a legal contract. I have no doubt that the misdirection I recieved was intentional on their part. Never use Budget again read more

They upgraded me for free into a Mitsubishi Eclipse. $20 a day. Cars were clean and they were friendly and quick at the counter. Cars was filled to the max. However, returning it, i was in a bind if I missed my flight home, so I had to turn in the car without the fillup. $50 surcharge later, I was on the shuttle back to the airport. Personally I've never liked putting the miles in my own vehicle for my road trips therefore I confide with rentals instead.I'm satisfied that I switched from Midway now known as Mcar to budget . I am very pleased to have found this location where the rates are reasonable and the staff is not only great but also it is a very convenient location from home and work. Uber and Lyft is always expensive in that area so the 720 takes me to where I need to be whether is to pick up and after dropping off I can either go home or go to work. It works out perfectly for me. To make matters best this location offers Mexican insurance not all locations offer this . I didn't go deep into Mexico only San Felipe they cover a certain region. They call the fellow Mexican insurance and give a decent insurance price to purchase they print out for you and you are on your way.They have fulfilled my expectations and every time kick off my roadtrip journeys to a great start off. Thanks to them I have been to San Francisco, Arizona, Utah,Colorado,Oregon , Washington, Las Vegas , and ofcourse Baja California.Consider them and give them a try. read more

Absolute nightmare. Originally reserved an SUV for 19/day ($2,358) but when I got to the lot they did not have any. So I was offered a discount to accept another vehicle, $10/day ($1973 after I added insurance). About 1/3 into the rental agreement the company attempts to charge me almost $6000 over 3 charge with one charge of $1700 going through. I called in and they were apologetic and assured me that the only additional fee I would see would be about another $200-$300 dollars when I returned the vehicle (still around the agreed upon $1973). I asked for this in writing and was told they couldn't do that. So I decided to continue dealing with them via email so I'd have records (feel free to reach out and I'll happily share the email chain, which is disturbing in its own right). As soon as things began progressing in writing the $1973 amount vanished, they began insisting it was a $10/day upgrade and not a discount. While bogus, by my calculations that would have brought the bill to $3,062- still nowhere near the $6,000 they tried to take. So after weeks arguing about that they finally ask for 14 business days to "investigate", but then after only 9 business days they randomly charge my account an additional $3200! Best part of that was that the $1973 amount that they argue never existed was somehow one of the charges. When I call in to complain about the now $4918.61 they have taken it gets even better! Now they say they only have records of taking the $1973 and say they never took the $1700 or the $1200 they took the day after the $1973 charge. So, at this point saying they are grossly incompetent is actually giving them the benefit of the doubt because it really seems like they are just lying to and stealing from me. So far, they have no response for my missing money and refuse to even give me a total bill amount. I didn't want to have to write such a negative review but they have gone out of their way to impress upon me that they have no intention of making things right on their own. Again, I will be more than happy to provide all my documentation to anyone whom it might persuade to save themselves the stress and rent from an honest company. The staff seemed more interested in there social lives than helping customers and the one African American lady that works there had a very bad Attitude and constantly told the person I was with that she will help her soon then we would look back to see her on her phone. Yesterday (06-30-15) was my 2nd time renting a car from budget. My first time was great!, i got my car within 10min. It was clean, full gas tank, and just perfect for my vegas trip. I got the hyundai elantra sedan. Now yesterday, the customer service wasnt so efficient this time. My reservation was at 930, i didnt actually get into my rental car until 1020 which is almost a whole hour that i had to wait for the car to get cleaned and washed. I reserved the hyundai elantra sedan again and received the hyundai elantra GT instead. the wait and car mix up is the only reason im taking ONE star off this rating. The staff make the ratings! They are attentive, courteous, and professional. I believe the two i interacted with were named edgar M.(front desk) and carlos(car lot), this was my second time and they make you feel like a valued customer. Keep up the great job guys!
