Solid place to get a satisfying cheap eat. My girlfriend thought the pepperoni pizza was too greasy so maybe not the best place for ppl with sensitive tummies. We came in for the smell of pizza and we're not disappointed. We were greeted by a window with 6-8 different pizza types and two vegan options. I really liked how they had slice options for about $6 and half slice options for about $3. Really accessible for ppl with less than $5 and great to try something you're unsure of. I got a slice and salad combo for $11 that I really enjoyed. There was a lot salad that took up half the plate and I enjoyed the balsamic. The quality of the produce was 10/10. I got a piece with pesto cheese and balsamic. It was 4/5. My other friend really enjoyed the pepperoni. They have a soda fountain of all the jones sodas if that's ur thing. The great thing about this place is that it's right next to Powell's books so you can grab a slice and walk around. I was hoping they would have a vegetarian option, but I didn't really see one yesterday I think the space is cute and fun and super Portland vibes. I got a slice of cheese and it was delicious. My test for a slice of cheese is usually when the crust holds up straight. This one didn't do that. I think the soda machine was broken, but the customer service wasn't too bad and the prices were about five dollars for a cheese slice I think I would go back. Whenever we travel, we make it a point to try some of the top pizza spots in the city. As two people who are always on the hunt for a great slice, Sizzle Pie was high on our Portland list and came highly recommended. Overall, I thought it was a really solid New York-style slice. Thin, foldable crust, a nice crunch on the bottom, and a chewy interior--exactly what I look for in a classic slice. The cheese and toppings tasted fresh, and I especially appreciated that they offer half slices, which made it easy for my husband and me to try a few different varieties without committing to full slices. That said, I think my expectations may have been a little too high going in. The pizza was definitely good, but I wasn't quite blown away the way I expected to be based on all the hype. For me, the cheese were the weakest part--wasn't bad by any means, but it didn't stand out compared to some of the other pizza spots we've visited around the country. Sauce was just okay, I like mine a little more flavorful. The vibe was fun and memorable. They were blasting metal music when we walked in, which definitely gives the place some personality. The employee helping us was incredibly friendly, offered recommendations, and even suggested other places for us to check out while we were in town. If memory serves me correctly, they also seemed to have a lot of vegan and vegetarian options, which is always nice to see. We've been here before in fact at this exact location as it's across the street from Powell's City of books. The pizza is usually good, it's a joint that has pies on display and they reheat slices as they are ordered... so the key is to look at all the pies and pick the freshest looking ones. The pepperoni in the display case looked like the freshest one so I ordered three slices. My friend ordered 1 cheese and 1 pepperoni after me. He received his slices first, in fact not only did he receive his slices first but he was done eating when we finally received ours... and you would think after waiting all that time we would have got some fresh slices; but that wasn't the case. The slices we received tasted like they were three days old and reheated three different times. The crust was so hard and crisp it disintegrated when you bit into it and they threw a few new shreds of mozzarella on top to make it look fresher (look at pictures). There are so many other great pizza joints in Portland, I don't think I'll be coming back here again. read more

Sizzle pie good. It's like a classic corner spot. On a sunny day the light comes in and you can sit down and enjoy the outdoor seating. Right across from Powell's books this location is awesome. It makes for a great Instagram story. The pizza flavors rotate, and you ordered the counter after you look at the menu/pizzas that they have for the day. Pizza comes out hot and fresh oh, and you can also order a whole pizza, If you call ahead, you won't have to wait! It's a good spot. Sizzle Pie still offers my favorite pizza in the city. I miss the Schuyler & East Burnside locations, but I'm very happy we still have the West Burnside & Hollywood locations available in my immediate area. I've been eating Sizzle Pie since I first arrived in Portland in 2012 & I can say their best pizzas are the best pizzas I've had. While the menu has shrunk along with the reduction in locations, I'll choose Sizzle Pie for a pizza before any other establishment. The New Maps Out of Hell is my very favorite pizza but I often customize my own as I've simply eaten so many of their regular menu standards that it's fun to experiment. My new favorite for vegan pizza! They have quite a few vegan options but every time I order the Grazing Arizona - vegan "chicken" and "bakon". Their "bakon" was so good I had to make sure it was really vegan! I had my non vegan friends try it and they were impressed and said they wouldn't have known it was vegan. I also enjoyed the spiral tap for a simple option. The restaurant seems like a cool vibe but I've only ordered to go. I love my pizza at home in pj's HAHA! Ambiance: 5/10 great central location, nice lighting but grungy Service: 6.5/10 they were nice and helpful. No complaints Food: Cinnamon sugar knots: 8/10 had a cinnamon frosting to dip in. Easily the best thing they offered. The dough was spot on. It was soft and buttery and delicious. Must get! Garlic knots 6.5/10 they were good. Again, good bready texture. Chewy. A little fluffy. Could have embedded the garlic in the dough to get more flavor but all in all good. Pepperoni pizza: 6/10 while it was greasy, the portions of pepperoni were solid. The major downfall was the crust. It got pretty hard and chewy after I picked up the pizza and brought it back to the office 30 min later. While a good pizza has a little crunch this had the crust had the texture of a crouton. All in all, this is late night pizza with the friends not a place I'd go to impress someone of the food in portland. I would personally choose quality over convenience but if you are looking for Convenience over quality, this could be a good spot. read more

A quick ride on the NS, A, and B streetcar lines will get you here no problem! Seems like lots of pizza places here in Portland love NYC style. Some people enjoy their Pizza floppy. I am not one of them. I believe that the crust should be thick and crispy enough to support the weight of the Pizza as I pick it up. unfortunately the crust on this pizza was only crispy around the edges and soft in the middle. Pizza also wasn't ready until 10 min after pickup time. Everyone walking in were getting their orders late.
