A nice little late night snack. Was wondering around Portland, and this was the perfect thing I needed. I got a slice of the police & thieves as well as the Pretty Sweet. Could be larger, but it hit the spot.

We've been here before in fact at this exact location as it's across the street from Powell's City of books. The pizza is usually good, it's a joint that has pies on display and they reheat slices as they are ordered... so the key is to look at all the pies and pick the freshest looking ones. The pepperoni in the display case looked like the freshest one so I ordered three slices. My friend ordered 1 cheese and 1 pepperoni after me. He received his slices first, in fact not only did he receive his slices first but he was done eating when we finally received ours... and you would think after waiting all that time we would have got some fresh slices; but that wasn't the case. The slices we received tasted like they were three days old and reheated three different times. The crust was so hard and crisp it disintegrated when you bit into it and they threw a few new shreds of mozzarella on top to make it look fresher (look at pictures). There are so many other great pizza joints in Portland, I don't think I'll be coming back here again.

I have heard about this place for a long time and my companion was craving pizza. Line moved quickly. The cashier messed up in order, but redeemed herself with a free pizza slice. We had: -Green Gobbler -Pepperoni -Vegetarian slice- that was for free Bathrooms were disgusting according to my companion. Seating is tight and strollers had a hard time maneuvering around. Pricing is very affordable with $5.50 a slice, half "cut" is $2.75.

Sizzle pie good. It's like a classic corner spot. On a sunny day the light comes in and you can sit down and enjoy the outdoor seating. Right across from Powell's books this location is awesome. It makes for a great Instagram story. The pizza flavors rotate, and you ordered the counter after you look at the menu/pizzas that they have for the day. Pizza comes out hot and fresh oh, and you can also order a whole pizza, If you call ahead, you won't have to wait! It's a good spot. I wouldn't say it's like blow your mind amazing but if you're in town and you want a reliable slice, sizzle is a good place to go.

Grungey pizza shop with $5 pizza slices (vegan!) could have been more saucey but got the job done!

$5 for a slice of pizza. It's tasty, it's cheap, and it's fun! I think a full pie would be a five stars. I got one of the two vegan slices. Mord'za: red sauce, vegan sausage, red onion, roasted whole garlic, follow your heart vegan mozzarella, calabrian chili, and basil. A really a delicious slice! I love the nutritional yeast shaker available as a little cheesy addition.

Look, you're not doing me a favor by existing and selling your garbage pizza. A couple Christmases ago I was on my own that day and y'all were running a buy one get one free special for any size. I bought two large to share with the homeless. Even THEY found your pizza too disgusting to eat. And me, who once thought I'd never meet a pizza I didn't like, one bite was all I needed to prove myself wrong. Now, years later and I'm craving pizza. I can't walk due to my fractured ankle, but my best friend, bless her heart, I asked her to go to Sizzle Pie because it's close by and I thought certainly, they can't still be making crummy pizza and serving it up with a haughty attitude. So they didn't have what I wanted, the staple, Margherita. Now it turns out that they stopped adding toppings to the cheese pizza to customize it. I always used to do that. But it has been years since I've set foot in there. My friend left. She got me a delicious slice from PIZZA KAT. No attitude just great Margherita pizza. Sizzle Pie, you're dead to me. 2025 - Review # 14

Eat pizza every day? Only if you promise it's Sizzle Pie! Very punk rock vibe, plenty of seating, and pie available by the slice. Sodas are Jones fountain drinks including apple! and orange cream! Yum! Pizza was crispy in the right places and flavorful slices! Food was out quickly and conversation with the team was great! Sizzle on.

Pretty solid pie. Display pizza looked dry so we opted for a 18" mushroom and sausage pizza. Fed four adults. Limited seating, but cozy spot bc most people were opting for to go orders. The parking situation was not great but to be expected at nighttime in Portland on a weekend.

Just landed & was super hungry so decided to try this place. They had two different vegan options - cheese & some crazy topping which I picked. The pizza was served super hot, too hot for my opinion & I burned the post of my mouth. The pizza had a thin crust and lots of vegan cheese but were some sauce that made it pikante , I was not mad about it. Also the rock music is all good but it's uber loud. CC accepted

Service was amazing in here. Very helpful and friendly. Nice location by Powell's bookstore, which makes it really convenient after spending a few hours looking at books. We ordered a couple slices to dine in. A pepperoni, supreme style pizza, a vegan chicken bacon ranch style, and a vegan slice with tomato sauce and pesto. My husband loved his meat options, and I thought that the vegan ones needed a little more flavor... But still grateful they have the vegan/non-dairy options!! Crust was fantastic.

This area can be a challenge for a spot to park but I have to love the vibe, Smells great walking in and service was pretty fast. It was very meditative to see a guy just kneading the dough in the air - you never see that many places anymore since kitchens are in the back. This is a spot you can hang at for a slice or two or grab yourself a box to go for some TV action too.

Sizzle Pie still offers my favorite pizza in the city. I miss the Schuyler & East Burnside locations, but I'm very happy we still have the West Burnside & Hollywood locations available in my immediate area. I've been eating Sizzle Pie since I first arrived in Portland in 2012 & I can say their best pizzas are the best pizzas I've had. While the menu has shrunk along with the reduction in locations, I'll choose Sizzle Pie for a pizza before any other establishment. The New Maps Out of Hell is my very favorite pizza but I often customize my own as I've simply eaten so many of their regular menu standards that it's fun to experiment. The Rabbits salad is also my favorite salad in the city. Thank you for being badass, Sizzle Pie!

New York and Chicago are still trying to catch up. But we are in the Pacific Northwest, nowhere near Loui's Pizza or Buddy's Pizza (Detroit pizza staples). So many times, what tries to pass off as "Detroit style" falls miles short. Then came "Ranch" where I stood outside and screwed up enough courage to try yet another Detroit style pizza. The interior was small, one wall lined with tomato sauce cans, the menu was bolted to a wall. The smell took me back and that gave me some hope. The pizza arrived at the table, the wife and I have varied tastes so we each ordered a quarter pizza. Mine was pepperoni, the wife had a veggie. The pizzas looked right, square, caramelized crispy edges, heavy toppings... and then on the side of the plate was this cup of ranch dressing. Duh! "Ranch" obviously has to have a good ranch, right? I dipped my pinky finger in the ranch and took a taste. You would not think one ranch can be so far ahead of the others, but ranch is the place for ranch, as well as pizza. My first bite brought a smile to my face, it was just, right in every way that a Detroit pie should be. I have been back to try their #4 pie with sausage and ricotta, and I am looking forward to more trips. If all that was not enough, the service was friendly, the food came out so quick (about 10 minutes) and the place was nice and clean.

If you're in or planning to be in Portland, Oregon, I respectfully and enthusiastically recommend you include Pizza Kat in your considered alternatives. A thin, flexible, and tasty-all-by-itself crust. Tomato sauce that adroitly walks the lines between sweet and acidic, and between supporting the other elements well, fading into obscurity, and overwhelming those other elements. The right amounts of the right cheeses. And fresh, tasty toppings. (Sweet Italian sausage not dominated by garlic and mushrooms worth eating on their own, for two delicious examples.) Even better, prices are reasonable, and delivery is available. We had some delivered to our hotel, and it arrived almost as hot and tasty as we would have expected were we at a table near the ovens. There are other pizzas worth eating -- including the thicker-crust "deep cut" slices available before and after select shows at Revolution Hall. Unfortunately, this was both our first and last visit. I don't think I've ever disliked a pizza before, but this may be the first one I would genuinely call bad. I enjoy wood-fired pizza and don't mind a little char, but somehow this pizza tasted noticeably bitter despite having very little visible charring. Whether it was the lack of sauce, the sauce itself being quite bland, or simply an imbalance of flavors, the end result just wasn't pleasant. The biggest issue is the value. A $25 cheese pizza doesn't need to be life-changing, but it should at least taste better than Costco's. In this case, unfortunately, it didn't. If your goal is to enjoy great pizza, I'd recommend one of the many other pizza spots in the area instead.

Additionally, if you dine-in, there is an entire bottle of oil on the table that you are encouraged to use on your pizza. It is delicious, and really completes the pizza flavor profile! They used to automatically include two small containers of oil per pizza if you ordered to-go. Current policy appears to be to not include any oil with the pizza (unless explicitly asked) and to only provide a maximum of two oils (even if multiple pizzas are ordered). I don't know if there is an oil shortage or what, but this is silly for a place that charges so much for their pizza. Life of Pie is a typical Portland restaurant that expects you to tip before you receive your food (and also expects you to bus your own table). To me, this expectation alongside with the inconsistency of the food for the price, is disappointing, and does not encourage people to go out of their way to return. When the food is good it is a solid place, however I would expect much more consistency for the price they command.
