Took my wife's ring in for repairs and they did an excellent job. We got an estimate from another jeweler and SJS was a lot less expensive.

I needed a gold necklace repaired that chain broke on. I tried several jewelry stores looking for them to repair it, all told me it couldn't be repaired cheaper than it would be just to replace it. SJS was recommended by a family member. When I took the necklace in they never tried to sell me anything. Getting the necklace back from being repaired was a fairly quick and expensive. Their service prices are some of the best in town, and the work is top notch. Not to speak for a friend, but she had her wedding band crafted here and it came out really nice. I don't understand the bad reviews at all. Maybe some people just can't be made happy?? Yes, Scott and Josie are extremely busy even if you don't see people in the store, he has a ton of work stacked up on his bench. Why? Because he is THAT GOOD! He and Josie are the kindest, most professional people in the jewelry business. They make a profit but don't over charge. If they tell you the gems are genuine and not irradiated, then that's what they are. Scott has made me numerous items. Two diamond toe rings, a beautiful pendent, and several rings. They have restrung my pearls on a couple of occasions and have replaced the battery in my watch countless times. I am going in today to have my battery replaced. Not impressed with the customer service "claimed he was busy until after Christmas?" Seriously? You are that busy - NOT ONE PERSON WHEN I WENT IN. I went in to have a diamond put in a bracelet "add a diamond" I didn't want an appraisal of the bracelet just how much to add the diamond. Why was he and the helper/receptionist/assistant scrutinizing the diamonds and the gold? I wasn't selling them I wanted my diamond put into the bracelet. Had 7 other diamonds put in the bracelet before, at a different place, the jeweler took 15 min to add it. He never did tell me how much it would cost or if he could do it - he said he'd have to look it up in the book? read more

This place was highly recommended to us about 5 years ago. My husband had a belt buckle that was passed down to him from his great grandfather, that he was going to wear for his uncles wedding, which had about 40 years worth of tarnish on it. The price was great and the owner said he would have it done in a few hours, which was great for our time frame. He looked at my wedding ring and asked me if I wanted to get it re dipped. I was surprised and excited because when I send my out with my jeweler from back home it takes a week. We got the belt buckle and my ring back and the craftsmen ship was fabulous (my ring looked better then when I send it out with my jeweler) ! Worst experience with a jeweler ever. He ruined my expensive watch- stripped the screw and said "the last person" must have done it. Um, the watch was new and the battery had never been changed. I should have went to a mall kiosk- this guy not only ruined my watch, but he lied about it too-which is what really made me mad. If you harm someone's possession, own up to it and make it right! They custom made my wife's platinum and diamond wedding ring from a photo I took from a competitors ad. They made it fit the size stone I wanted and made it even better than the chain store jewellers. Oh, and it was cheaper. This is a great company. They made my ring many many years ago using most of the stones/gold from my first wedding ring that I destroyed while gardening. This place is awesome. A couple years ago I took my wedding ring and engagement ring into have them soldered. Super fast, and reasonably priced. Better than any big chain jewelry store, hands down, any day. Today, I took my new watch in to have a new battery put in and to have a couple links taken out. Took him no time at all and $10 and I was out the door. Customer service is great, however a little much on the hard sell to buy things, but a great place for jewelry needs, nonetheless.
