I came here recently with some friends who recommended the rink, and while it looked a bit sketchy on the outside, the inside wasn't that bad. The pricing was a bit high, but I at least had a really good time. Staff seemed nice, even slowed down some fast skaters that almost bowled us over. So overall, good experience! I think it is just unbelievable that you have to pay five dollars just to spectate your children. I have seen plenty of people just dropping off their kids which is ridiculous and then it's almost $20 a person just to skate. Where are the days when it was only five bucks to skate. When we first walked up we had to do a waiver....we all did ours but my moms had messed up or something. So we had to do hers over.... the security m came out the door and yelled "if yall Would get out the way and let her do her job she can do her job"... we was like she's doing her job she's helping us with the waiver.... I simply asked him why he was yelling at us... he said yall Holding the line up and he was yelling at his worker.... He went back inside and started screaming at her.... Then we were still trying to do my mom waiver.... I have taken my kids to this place three separate times in an attempt to let them skate. Each time we have been turned away for some reason or another. I live in OP and would love to support local but I will never attempt to give this place another cent of money! It's an awesome time riding away from there explaining to 4 and 5 year olds that we have to leave and they cannot play or skate at a place for playing and skating... Hot garbage and dumpster juice is the rating I give this crap hole!! I hope these people go bankrupt and something useful takes their place. I feel like a hobo proctologist would be more useful than a place that advertises skating and playing but turns away kids trying to do those things. They allowed me to be attacked by a woman and called names and then the woman freaked out on me, the manager Kevin called the police on me, I was just skating and did nothing wrong. No one even asked me or asked me to leave. I had no idea what was even going on and they called the police because a woman "said" I said something to her and I did not. They trespassed me over someone's word. It was awful and police cars just because someone said I did something that I didn't. I was simply skating. It was insane. Big skating floor. Staff are very nice once you get to know them. The food is ok, but not terrible at all. Alot of good skaters to learn from, and most of the non-hockey skaters would teach you a thing or two. The line into it can be long; but if you really are that impatient, go to mandarin. This place was absolutely amazing except for the fact I got kicked out of the play place for my age. Like hoe I wanna have fun too Fr. Other than that I got rizzed up by some dude with a 3000 dollar necklace and it was fire, we kissed approximately 7 times while I was here. Sadly his mom blocked my number so no boyfriend for me. Anyways to the point it's hard to practice on their carpet and the skating rink doesn't have any bars surrounding so if you're new you have to wing it. After skating for hours we were lied to and told we were not able to get drinks after paying to get in and then we were going to pay for a drink/food. Not even 10 minutes later we seen another employee handing out food and drinks. When I confronted them, they were very stand offish and shrugged their shoulders. It is really unfortunate that in this day and age nobody wants to work and even the two managers standing there did not care. This was my first time here as I came here for a birthday party this past weekend. After reading some of the prior reviews, I did avoid going to the restroom. First thing I noticed after walking in is that they could shoot an episode of Stranger Things here, definitely brings back the nostalgia. The carpets were totally 90's, arcade machines still took tokens, the speakers sounded terrible, 2/3 of the ceiling lights were actually working and the skating area needing some additional up-keeping. I actually enjoyed that kind of stuff. However, it is 2017 and the speakers needs some updating/replacing since it was difficult to understand the person on the mic when they were speaking and the music was muffled big time. The carpets, I get that you probably can't "deep clean" the carpets every night but I think vacuuming it should be a priority. We were the first to enter on a Sunday morning and there were so many bits of trash on the ground. There was not a staff member in the skating area and in my opinion there should be, you know in case someone gets hurt, or maybe not. They did a pretty good job with the birthday party, a little disorganized but the effort was there. The place does get pretty busy to my surprise. No beer. I was not skating and was a little bummed by that. I won't be back unless there's another birthday party, but that's also a maybe. read more

The rink floor is maintained for the most part, big snack bar seating area, outdoor golf course you can actually do, working arcade games, and a nice and attentive staff. Sunday's are Adult (17+) Skate Night 8pm -11:30 Music By Dj Dr Doom. Will cost you about $10 and includes skates. Just go! Within 30 minutes you'll want to be another Ring Rat. You won't be on Facebook - (if you're on your phone at all) instead you'll be searching out skates because you are positive that you want to start taking lessons and do all the tricks you will see that night. 90% of the people that attend are bringing their own skates and this is the perfect atmosphere to show off what you know. But if you are a numbie (like me) stay close to the wall long enough and someone will urge you to get on the floor. (Leads you by the hand and has you skating in circles.) After a few spins around the ring, the tightness in your butt, thighs, and calves will remind you that this is also a great workout. Concession stands are open but no one seems to use them. You will just vibe to the great music provide by the dj. First entering I was a little worried that a police car was parked out in front. I was told that there is rarely ever an issue. But if one occurs that it's handled quickly. The rental skates aren't the best. Most should actually be trashed at this point. Warning this ring has no walls to hold on to - just be willing to push off and go. read more

After 2 bad trips to Kori rd Mandarin location this was a breath of fresh air. I've been coming to this location since I was a teenager and I always really enjoyed myself. The staff takes ownership and initiative to correct any issues. Even when it's crowded everything is still under control. My family and I had a really nice time. I'll be honest the music can be a little ratchet but I liked it it was way better than the foolishness at the Mandarin location. Like any skating rink it is a little old and out dated. But that is the beauty of the skating rink, it sparks up nostalgia. From the cosmic inspired carpeting to the roller skates they still use from their grand opening in '88. They do have some newer skates available for use but they haven't replaced their old inventory 100% yet. Just like when I was a kid the skill level o the skaters runs the gambit. The reason I can only give them the 3 stars is because of the old skates and their PA system. The DJ is announcing that this segment is a fast skate and that all novice skaters should sit this one out and all you hear is Charlie Brown's old teacher. If it had been clearer some of those less experienced skaters would have been on the sideline like they should have been. read more

Just my thoughts The good: Skating can bring back the nostalgia of any person who enjoys this pastime of fun and excitement of speeding, group skating or even jam skating. The artistic thing about this is what amazing things you can do while balancing on eight little wheels and two toe stoppers. lol -Prices are good and include skates -Ample space for parties -Bar food -Great selection of songs from the DJ Booth -Plenty of Roller Skates and inline skates along with lockers -Video games and games As always there is some room for improvement -Carpet is so old and stained that you could smell how bad it is. smells like bad feet fungus -The floor rink itself could use a good smooth buffing out since while you can skate you can feel the grooves -Employees need to be more attentive -Skate guard was nowhere to be found at times especially when someone had fallen to the floor -Equipment could use a good wiping down with some wet wipes -bathrooms need attending Overall it's a great place to bring back the days of old but please pay attention to details. Coming on a Saturday night. BIG MISTAKE with a seven year old. Let me start off with how long it takes to get in. Geeze. Then how there are NOT enough people monitoring the skate floor let alone the one who'd come and go. Some kid plowed into my daughter and I and I was livid. These kids are so reckless and uncaring of others around them. Never coming back a Saturday again. Skate station from a business perspective let me help you here. You need two or more attendees addressing and picking up any garbage around. I've seen dozens and dozens of cups littering the sitting areas and sitting areas near games etc and no one taking care of it. Looks trashy. Literally. Also someone to monitor people leaving their skates all over the floor. I can't tell you how much I did or would have tripped. Also poor girls behind the counter at the snack bar having to multi task between that , prizes and golf. You guys need more staff. Also someone monitoring the play ground. It was a mad house. My daughter got to play and didn't have a wrist band but because were honest we did go pay for one. So more attendants for the rink because it's such a safety thing and I don't care what you have posted someone will sue you. Attendants for all areas to keep clean and clear of hazards. More staff for checking in and more staff for snack bar. More monitoring period. This was my home as a kid. What the heck happened. read more

I've been living in Jax for about 2.5 years now have been to both Skate Stations(also wrote a review for Mandarin State Station). I went to this skate station after first going to the one in Mandarin. I went to this skate station for a little over a year because I liked the floor compared to Mandarin's floor. I'm not a fan of the open-ness of kids being able to jump on and off to the rink. I usually end up crashing into kids. They never look where they are going/ the people around them. I'm 32 and when I take a hit/fall its not as easy to get back up like when you were little. The rink rats at this skate station are very annoying. They throw beanies balls to pick up, play tag, do the whole hockey slide stop that in turns messes up the floor( would rate it as a -2 stars for this sentence alone/ also help pushed me to go back to the mandarin's skate station). It always amazes me that the staff doesn't stop them/ lets it continue on. The music is pretty good for the most part. I normally go when they first open on the weekends/holiday skate days. I'm there to skate, have fun, and work on my moves. I have never gone to any of the evening skates. I remember them always being full of kids/teens when I was younger and now as an adult I just don't want to deal with that. The ac is on and its decent temp in there. I do wish that the referee would actually monitor the kids skating in the wrong directions and skating through the middle area. Last but not least their water spout puts out luke warm water. Suggestion: After every hour can we switch the direction of skating for like 15-20 minutes? I'm great going the one direction but I have no muscle memory going the other way. Plus my unused muscles could get worked out as well. Note* I've never tried their skates, have my own. Have never ever been to an evening skate. Haven't tried the food/drinks so have no info about that. read more

I have been coming here since October 2020. I wanted to learn how to skate and some of the employees are very nice . They have majority of the skates in stock including most accessories. I come on Tuesdays very nice more of an adult night no small kids are seen there . Friday and Saturday are for children of all ages so if you're not comfortable with skating with bunch of kids skating than it's not a night for you . Sunday's they have adult night where they play old school music 17+ to come inside and they check ID at the door . Management management is amazing they have snacks they have food variety of drinks a place everyone can have fun. I recommend this play for any events. read more

My kids that aren't really into skating like to come here to do the other activities that are offered and to hang out with friends. First off I paid $14 per kid for Unlimited access to their attractions. Once inside I noticed that keeping the place cool was not a priority for the owners. After about 2hrs even though I wasn't skating I had soaked my shirt. No outside drinks are allowed so I went to buy a small water out of a machine and they wanted $2.50 for a water. Many of the skates were in ratty condition and the carpeting around the place was worn and tattered looking like it was from the 80's. The arcade was an absolute joke!! They would be better off buying a few flat screens and xbox 360's running dance central and replacing the arcade area. The whole place needs a major update.... I will say one thing good.... It's fun, despite the appearance and poor upkeep. Almost all of the arcades are broken. The room is usually packed, and the skating rink filled. You will fall at least once In here. Safe place for kids of all ages which is wonderful. The younger "rink Rats" at the location on Blanding are a bit out of control. They block the side of the rink,skate to fast and are a bit of a nuisance. I have never been there on a Sunday night, but "adult night" is for people 18+. Still allowing people a bit young to enter, but may be key to a different atmosphere in general. I plan on going to the one in Mandarin soon to see if there is a difference. read more

This place is ok , I was surprised when you pay the admission , you only pay for roller skating , which is $10. Then , you have to pay extra for in line roller blades , pay extra to be able to play mini golf , rock climbing ... dissapointing .... also the staff is only teenagers that do not really have a sense of customer service. Came to Skate Station on a recent trip with my children to celebrate my sons birthday. We arrived on a saturday night to skate as my kids are older (ages 12+). We had a great time doing rockwall and mini golf. Prices were reasonable. Only problem i had was when the coke machine took my money. I had to try and get one of the managers out of the office to help me. Took about 10 minutes to get my soda out. No motivation at all to help a paying customer. All in all we will be back.
