Was very disappointed while recording, I was informed I couldn't just set there with my camcorder running recording the action. I was allowed to record with my phone as we're about 15 other people. This is a public venue open to the public and Ohio does not require approval of any second party to record and/or post. Conveniently a month earlier I was ask by staff if I had recorded the events leading up to a major issue of some adult running over a bunch of kids when the adult was skating the song direction at an accelerated pace. The incident had happened right before I got there, seems like if the recording would of helped their case they wanted it, other wise I was infinging on people's privacy. If you are afraid of someone seeing your kids having fun maybe they should be kept at home. You can't very well use your policies to suit your venue at your will, I would recommend you decide ahead of time and post them where everyone can see them. Them to maybe you should require patons turn over phones camera and other recording equipment at the door. While the place has gotten a paint refresh and maybe new carpeting, I'm still not a fan. It's crazy expensive for two kids. I paid over $40 to just get in and then for skate rentals. That's crazy to me. The skate laces really need to be changed out as it's hard to get them laced up. I've been during regular hours and for a private event and the space was a little better during the private event. I just think you can go to so many other places for fun for better pricing and fun. Maybe if I loved skating I'd enjoy it, but I find it so boring. My kids have had fun the handful of times we've went in their lives. Ridiculous service! Paid 40$ (my 7 and 8 year old and myself who was NOT skating). Whatever- paid it. My daughter goes and asks for a skate buddy (walker to assist inexperienced skaters) and she was told it costs. I'm sitting right next to where you get them. 20 min later a parent ask another where she got it- she pointed to where we just asked. Skateworld not only welcomed them with open arms, but they also offered the boy a free pass and are hosting a skating party for him. They charge .80 for ketchup to go with the already over priced fries $5. It's filthy in the building and bathrooms were disgusting years ago and are still. Over priced, filthy shoes and filthy in general. The business owner refuses to hear any negative feedback. Even on the photos section on yelp they post their logo over and over to compensate for photos of filth. Maybe the owner is just trying to keep their head above water but for a mother and 3 boys the cost for skating and food was $80 for the evening. This place is a mess. Instead of updating their rental skates or the carpet, they've recently built what looks like a bunker with concrete cinder blocks- (unsecured to the ceiling I might add) for a tiny laser tag area?? It looks genuinely ominous and horrible. The whole place seems so much smaller and uglier, and now there is very little seating. It's almost like they're letting a child make business decisions. We had a birthday party here and it was a nightmare. There were 3 staff members for the entire place. There was a delay in guests interning because there was a verbal altercation in the front. They forgot to put our pizzas in so they were late. There was no one manning the skates so our guests waited for at least 20 min before anyone even showed up to help. The food was really poor quality. The employees are over worked and are doing the best they can but service is poor. Go elsewhere. read more

Our high schoolers, who used to really like skating with their friends (minus mom and dad) for a few hours are now required to have adult supervision. While they had fun, it was very understaffed and dirty, and the prices were ludicrous. $5 for a small portion of fries and an additional 80 cents for ketchup! $25 for a pizza. $10 for a pitcher of soda. Small children have no chance on the rink with the bullish teens and grown up's reliving their teen years with no regard to how fast they're going or cutting off other skaters. I guess nothing is being done to resolve these concerns because I know other parents have complained. I had to change out my kids skate because they gave us two of the same side and he was like well what one do you need... the other one! It has been 20 years since I last went to Skateworld of Kettering. I will have to say this place still looks the same but definitely less maintained and worn down. The atmosphere was in poor condition and not great. There were a lot of dirty tables that needed to be wiped down.None of of the staff seemed to be maintaining nor wiping the tables down or picking up trash. The music was super loud and they played oldie and top hit music. The carpet in this was place was filthy. I was seriously concerned about the kids walking around in their socks and also falling into this carpet that looked like it had never been steamed cleaned or vacuumed. The bathrooms were in just dire need of a good cleaning and bleaching the toilets and sinks looked like no one had bothered to clean the bathrooms in over 2 decades. Parents be aware of this location. I would recommend your child to not crawl around the floors or carpets of this location. I would also recommend to not touch the sink counters if possible. This place looks like a lot of fun for the kids but definitely not clean. read more

This is a well maintained rink. The issues I have are as follows. There are no floor monitors. They have the skate trainers and kids who can clearly skate are on the floor playing with them, pushing them into other skaters. There are older kids who are just literally standing or sitting on the rink floor playing on their phones. Skaters of all age ranges have ZERO rink etiquette. Adults included. The rink also doesn't offer an adult night, which I find kind of insulting. There are older rinks that have an lt night they aren't very well maintained. Older skaters are responsible, educated, respectful and truly love to skate. I never have to worry about get knocked down or having to jump over a teenager just sitting there on the floor being goofy at an adult skate. I won't go back to this rink. It's not fun or safe to skate there. read more

I've been an avid Skater for the last 25 years, what I will say is if you have kids 10 and under they will most likely enjoy this experience! However if you have a family of 13 yrs old and older this is most definitely the worst Skating experience you will ever experience. I've given this rink many opportunities to prove me wrong it's clear the staff of two young girls every Wednesday night is just not enough to facilitate the 100+ customers that show up. We got a Groupon and wanted to take the kids tonight. Worst experience we have ever had. Everything was horrible. First they didn't honor the Groupon because of "teen night". We paid anyways and went in. Place smelled awful and dirty. Food was beyond garbage. Pizza looked worse than gas station food. I ordered fried mushrooms for $6 and got 5 small pieces 15 mins later. This place doesn't care about customer service or pleasing the customers. They are just there for your money. Enter at your own risk. When I mentioned the online pricing, she didn't even ask for my coupon and never gave me the discount price. when I mentioned it, we were told it was a gimmick. This place is not friendly! This place is a joke. It's unsanitary. The floors are never cleaned, so it's a skate hazard that will most definitely trip you up. The kids are rude af, and the staff lets them act this way on and off the skate floor. They don't have any intentions of making anything handicap accessible, I've asked on numerous occasions for a friend who is handicapped who brings their daughter there to skate. The food being advertised in pics on their walls, are not even options they have available or know anything about. They make people pay for all you can eat pizza even if you cannot eat the pizza due to dietary restrictions they don't care to meet, and are just there to skate. The kids there are just rude, unruly, BULLIES, unfriendly, utterly disrespectful and has an absolute issue with keeping their hands to themselves! While my son and nephew were there trying to enjoy themselves on Friday night 02.23.2018 keep in mind they're only 8 years old. My son came to me and informed some GIRL has been bullying them on the floor. He also has a big scratch on the side of his head that's dripping blood. He skated back out on the floor to show me who the Girl was, she looked like she was 11 years old. I then see her push him down and then made my nephew fall who was using a skate mate. In retrospect I should have called the police for assault. She somehow chipped my nephews front tooth in which he showed me on the way home once the skate rink was closed. She went to get a manager because I walked on the floor to ask her why she was pushing around my kids. I spoke with a young lady named Lauren that rest assured me she'd be banned from Skate World. Horrible place run by kids! Paid $21.99 for my kid to skate for four hours. Was supposed to have unlimited pizza and drinks however, he was only allowed one slice and couldn't have the drink at the same time. When I called to talk to a manager, she pretty much called me a liar when I told her I was never told kids could only get one slice AT A TIME and I was the one at the front who bought this and put the wristband on my son. It used to be a cool place for kids to hang out at but likely due to a lack of maintenance and general cleaning the carpet has become a matted sticky pad. I must say the job of a yelper must be really easy, just be a cynical ass. Myself, my daughter and mother had a great time. It was perfectly safe, the food was as good as can be expected from a skating rink. Yes most of the employees were teenagers, however they were polite and many of them were working very hard. This place was really fun. I took my kids and they had a blast. The food was great, the food staff could be a bit friendlier, but they weren't nasty. The prize guy was amazing, patient, and very kind. The skates after extremely cheap though. The stoppers were not placed right in my skates. The took seemed to be very dry as well. It is kind of outdated but the skating area is good. Employees are nice and we have never had a problem with being treated is a disrespectful manner. My only complaint, THE MUSIC IS WAY TOO LOUD. I have to scream to communicate with my two kids. My kids even complained to me that it is too loud, and when we left they told me that their ears were ringing.
