I have been here numerous times since the store opened. I typically go here for Christmas, birthday…read moreshopping, or when I need something for the house. They have 2 entrances, one in the front and one in the back. It can get overwhelming with the cramped aisles and so many people, especially around the weekends and holidays. To anyone who has anxiety or claustrophobia, do not go here on the holidays. But if you come in on a weekday evening or morning, you'll find that it's calmer. They also tend to stock their shipments around those days so you get first dibs on what's fresh at the store. And if you like hello kitty, Disney or other collectables. My pro-tip is to check the trash bins, baskets, and cabinets because sometimes, you'll find a hidden stash of items. One time, I opened a cabinet to find a hello kitty holiday mixing bowl. I ran to the register, past a group customers who did a double take and said "Where did she get that mixing bowl??" Now unfortunately, the only thing I dislike about this location is one of the shift leads or managers. Idk her name. She talks bad about the customers in front of other customers. The person she was speaking poorly of is, in my case, my mom! This happened around Summer of 2025. Now when my mom and I get in line, we always pay separately. We each buy our own items. So when they call us to a register we take turns on who goes first: sometimes it's me, sometimes it's her. It depends on who has the least items. It just so happens this time it was me and that I picked to go to the register with the manager or shift lead - what ever she was. She says hi and I say hello. She offers the store card. I say no thank you. Then she speaks into her microphone thing - "yah that lady that went to your register. Yah, she doesn't like me, she always lets someone else go in front of her so she doesn't go up to me. Can you believe that? I know." I turned to the register she was speaking of, and lo and behold, it was my mom. I try my best to keep a blank face as she's processing my transaction. Then I smile at her (which was very difficult to do). and say "have a great day." Then I go to my mom's register and say "HI MOM I'm done." Then when she was done we both walk back past her. The shift lead was shocked. And I turned and gave her a wonderful look that say a bunch of colorful things. Moral of the story: don't bad mouth other customers. wait until the break room or when you go home. I spoke to my mom afterwards and she said she has no clue who she even is.

I thought I was asking for a lot, but I found a pair of boots that checked all the boxes. I can wear them with casual pants, dressier pants, and even a skirt with leggings. The owner Laura is such a professional who is all about customer service and understands the issues I have with my hard-to-fit feet. I only wish I discovered this store ten years ago.

There is an unbelievably RUDE manager at this store. I believe she might be racist/prejudiced. I do…read morenot know her name, but she has jet black hair and jet black eyebrows. She made me feel very uncomfortable and I will be contacting Chicos headquarters. Here is what I witnessed: These two middle eastern women were shopping (I think they were speaking Farsi/Persian) and one was trying on clothes in the changing room. As she was trying on each article of clothing, she was placing them over the top of the changing room door. (Keep in mind, these changing rooms are extremely small). The manager frantically approached this customer and said "You can't just throw the clothes over the door! They'll get dusty!" Taken aback, the customer replied: "The store gets cleaned, doesn't it?" And the manager said "Not up there!!!" She then turned around and muttered to herself (very loudly): "NO ONE ELSE DOES THESE TYPES OF THINGS. NO ONE." I could see the two women were very uncomfortable after being scolded by the manager about this and did not linger in the store much longer. They did not they buy any of the many items they had tried on. I don't blame them one bit, because I left quickly after too. My housekeeper always cleans the top of my doors at my house. Does Chicos not have the same standards of cleanliness? The manager basically announced to the whole store that they do not. To embarrass and scold a customer for something so unimportant is NOT OK. If anything, the manager should be contacting the store's CLEANING TEAM and letting them know that the changing rooms are dusty and dirty. Gross! I know this manager is capable of being polite, as another customer came in and she greeted them VERY warmly, as though they were friends. She gave these other two middle eastern woman the cold shoulder, however, and did not attempt to help them in any customer-friendly way. I was extremely disturbed to witness this. I wish I had gone back there and told that saleswoman what a rude person she is. This incident felt xenophobic to me, as they were speaking a foreign language, and this woman never appeared friendly to them at any point during their visit. Very "mean girl" energy. I don't know if she was a salesperson or not, but they were talking and not one of them looked up, greeted me or even acknowledged my presence. I walked around the entire store twice, looking for what I wanted. I was ready to ask someone, but since they were so disinterested in my presence and engaged in their conversation, I decided to shop elsewhere. I will not return to the store. It's a shame because it's the only one in this area and buying online is always sketchy causing possible returns. What has happened to decent customer service?

What kinda mess is that. The young salesgirl behind the counter was even embarrassed to keep referring to the manager for any questions I had about the sizes. I honestly thought this was a sample store like all the shoes were priced as is because it was something was wrong with the shoe, last season styles or they only came in a size 8, all jokes aside. I drove to Del Amo for a pair of sandals and picked up some sneakers from new balance on Hawthorne. I hope business picks up so the manager finds reason to accommodate someone other then a size 8 or possibly 9, 9.5, or 10 in women's shoe.
