Think about this place like a thrift store - some items are in great condition, some are passable and ok for a season, but you may have to lower your expectations if you are looking for super low prices. But knowing that some new bats are $100+ or even upwards of $250+ a pop, getting a decent one for 50% off retail is great when you don't have the luxury of waiting for sales. And if you are conservation minded like me, the fact that this stuff isn't just getting thrown out and can be used for others is a plus. They also obviously have softball, football, hockey, soccer, and other sport supplies in stock. And the store did not smell like a nasty locker room, which us a great sign.

Line is brutal and sad. People are dropping things they want to buy. While store features a few good brands, it is useful for trying on if you do not mind undressing in front of others since fitting rooms are locked and finding a willing store associate with keys is not something one can guarantee. If something fits you and you want instant gratification of purchase, you must stay in a line where store associate chats every customer up to demonstrate family like environment while marinating you for an hour waiting. You should consider if you want to wait or better order online. If you decided to buy, then after 20-40 minutes of waiting you are pressured through attack on why you do not want to become a member. REI, I do not want to become a member of this environment exactly because you are not considered about people. I had an appointment today and the place was bustling. They have plenty of staff although I saw signs for help everywhere. So here's my take, there aren't many ski shops anymore or like there was say, 40 years ago. Baltimore Ski Warehouse (BSW) is pretty central and they do offer both used and new equipment. There prices on used equipment are a tad high vs. eBay or liquidation sites. With that said, just like a lot of shopping, ski gear also has gone online and it's equally affordable to BSW. When you buy online, it's a gamble because what important is the fit! Some sales are final sales or a PITA to return. BSW affords you the fit and will work with you until you're happy. That's called connivence and you pay a little extra for convenience just like you do for milk and bread at the big gas stations. Today, I tried of 4 brands of boots and purchased a pair and left happy despite paying a little more. BSW, guaranteed me a good fit or I can return the used boots for another pair of used boots within their huge selection. Folks were nice and again, it was busy so MAKE AN APPOINTMENT online. It's easy and you're guaranteed service. Note: No Veteran or First Responder discounts.

I saw they had a selection of outdoor camping chairs upstairs. Many were available. Most places charge a high cost for these outdoor chairs. Here the price ranged from $9.99 to $90. I like that you can buy it online and have it shipped to their location. One my way out, my friend came across a section with apparel that had "GOAT" on it with phrases like "Be the Greatest" or "Greatness with a side of Butter". I thought they were cute, albeit pricey. Also avoid the elevators if you can because you might run into the elevator troll and get denied access for no reason.
