The estimate for painting three rooms upstairs in our house was very detailed, seemed fair priced, and he was friendly and easy to work with and was great at answering our follow-up questions before starting our project. We were able to book the project on the timeline we were looking for, but we were disappointed that the pre-project meeting never happened, as the proposal had said it would. This meant that the crew leader had some outstanding questions for us on the day they started the project, and though easily resolved, would have been nice to discuss beforehand. Where we were disappointed was at the very end when the crew had packed everything up and was ready to head out, we were handed a "report card" of their work to score how they did on various aspects of the job. While we were happy to fill out the document, the walls were still wet with paint when we were asked to score and it was a bit awkward to have the crew leader waiting in the house for us to fill out the sheet. I was hoping we could have time to walk through the area once the paint was dry and take a close look at everything together (my husband and I but he was keeping our two young kids happily distracted at the time), but were told we couldn't mail it in or send it in at another time and had to get done now. It felt rushed and uncomfortable since the crew was waiting on us for them to complete their day, and I didn't look at everything as closely as I would have liked with the work being wet. The next day we went upstairs (where our work was done) to take a closer look and we ended up finding two areas that were missed for painting and some small stray paint splatter on the floor and windows that I missed before. Had I seen this when filling out their report card I would have changed their score on Quality from an A rating to a B+ for them. Juan and his team were punctual, polite, and efficient at getting the work done but if I had a suggestion for improvement, it would be to let the homeowners complete your report card on THEIR time, once everything is totally finished (and dry), as it makes for a very rushed experience at the end.

Here are the lowlights of my experience with Matt: --Communication was a nightmare. He responded to me while he was doing the job (a plus!) but he was more interested in complimenting his own work, man-splaining, and cracking corny jokes than he was in listening my concerns. Whenever there was a problem, he blamed someone else. ---Cost was very high. This is my fault , as I should have gotten more estimates. --The work was below average. For example, Matt installed a bifold door. He asked if I wanted it painted and when I asked if it would need to be painted, he said it was up to me. I opted to leave it unpainted but had no idea that Matt would leave pencil marks and scuffs all over it. By that time, I was so tired of interacting with him that I decided to paint it myself. Less than three months later, the door came off the track and the pin that holds it in place will not go back in. I've been trying to get him to come back to fix the door (as per his warranty) for two weeks. Ha! Who am I kidding? I could go on but you get the drift.
