I've been to many, many doctors and aestheticians all over the US - from Dr. Sheila Nazarian in LA to Trifecta MedSpa in NYC - so I've got a decent sense of how knowledgeable and skilled practitioners are. (For example: I'll "joke" about having my platysmal bands removed, and it becomes clear the person has no idea that platysmotomies are even a thing. Yeah. I just have them Botox my crows feet and be on my way.) I quickly got the feeling that Dr. Smith both knows a LOT about facial structure and has some aesthetic sense, so I was willing to go for something a little more involved than I'd normally be: 7 syringes of Bellafill in temples and under eye. Despite popping Arnicas for 2 days prior, I swelled up unrecognizable after the 2nd treatment (3 syringes). The 4 photos left to right are: before, immediately after, 36 hours after, and 6 days after. So obviously if you get a few syringes of filler, maybe don't schedule an appearance that week, and don't freak out if you swell up like I did. (From what I can gather, I'm in a minority of people who swell up this badly.) Dr. Smith knows that he's doing and I'll definitely be returning next time I'm in Waco. read more

I am picky. I have been to several Drs for a wiggly and crinkly chin. I get charged for a full Botox bottle that I don't need and end up with a chin that drags and causes my jowls to be VERY prominent . Body Refinery is the ONLY place that eliminates the chin wiggle, doesn't cause my jowls to worsen and doesn't over charge. I want to look natural, not like I've had procedure done that's gone to g. I drive down from Prosper/Dallas to have this done and it's worth it. I just found out he has a place in Waxahachie that he is starting so now even the drive time is less. as a guy, I was hesitant to go to a skin care facility, but as a personal trainer, I interact with a lot of women who prioritize the health and wellness of their skin, particularly antiaging. Last year I was diagnosed with throat, cancer and underwent 33 rounds of radiation along with some chemotherapy which reeked havoc on my skin having been a personal trainer and bodybuilder and fitness model how I looked I kind of took for grante. Radiation literally put decades of the equivalent to intense UV trauma, think tanning every day for over a decade. My female clients ALL come here and one even offered to pay for my first chemical peel if I woukd just get over my stigma and go to a facility primarily targeting facial skin and anti-aging. I'll admit right off, ladies, the work you do to stay young is way more than any guy "gets", I'm doing a fraction of it. it's a commitment but after several months of following the good doctors protocols I can't believe how much healthier my skin looks and feels. even my chin which got blasted with radiation bc of its location to the tumor has been tightened up noticeabley. Yes it is a commitment of time and money, though less than I expected, but I think when we are young and healthy we take for granted how we look and to a certain extent feel like we're going to look until you don't and then at that point you're having to do repair versus prevention. I wish that I had put in the time for prevention in my 30s that would've helped my body be a little more prepared as prepared as it can be for radiation and then just getting older none of us even us you know manly men want to admit that getting older is something that we have to deal with. you can what is happening or you can do your best to look your best and feel better as well as be healthier. Your skin is the largest organ in your body and I can tell you when your skin is healthier. You feel better because I've had my skin be very unhealthy from radiation and chemotherapy and I will tell you it is not a good feeling and probably something that a lot of people suffer from just by way of not really taking care of their bodies and just aging so now I am much more proactive I follow the protocols that the Doctor and his team provide me and I already feel like I look 10 years younger. I'm almost back to where I was when I finished my radiation up in November 2024 and honestly believe that if I continue doing what they recommend that I could actually wind up looking younger with tighter skin than I had before I got my radiation and I was a person who as a personal trainer, put a lot of effort into healthy and drinking exclusively skin and body refinery will actually take you to the next level with everything from with everything from providing the nutrients that your body is missing via supplementation and IVs with nutrients to top of the line facial creams, and other products that I'll be honest with you he's explaining to me and being a guy I still don't quite understand all of it. Had a great experience here for a sugaring Brazilian. I was so bummed when another place canceled my appointment 30 minutes prior to start time and decided to call Skin and Body Refinery-even though their website said they were booked for weeks.The receptionist took the time to talk to Kim and got me a last minute appointment for the same day. When I arrived everyone was so nice and inviting. Kim was very professional, didn't waste any time, and was so efficient. She made me feel comfortable, talking to me about my trip to Waco and things to do and see. She was so calming and was a great distraction. Less painful than even other sugaring experiences I've had. Visiting from across the country, it's hard to find places for the services you usually get at home. I'm so glad I called and they were able to work with me to get me an appointment same day! I will not be going back. The main reason for 2 stars is Amy, she does wonderful facials and is very good with her hands. I had scheduled my appointment for a Monday, because they had no availability for the Tuesday I'd preferred, then got a text confirming that my appointment was on Tuesday. That was not correct. I got charged $156 twice after telling the front desk girl that I already paid. She was also the one who messed up my scheduled appointment. I also saw the "doctor" looking at freaking YouTube videos in the next room before his client. Did he not know what to do? I will not be going back. read more

On June 19, 2018 I went to The Skin and Body Refinery to discuss Bellafill injections. After discussing the contents of the filler and the length of time the product would work, I decided to get the injections by Dr. Smith who works for The Skin and Body Refinery. Dr. Smith said that he would follow up with me that evening, which he did not. I needed to speak to Dr. Smith due to the pain and extreme bruising. I called The Skin and Body Refinery every hour the following day and no one answered the phone. The receptionist called the next day and left a message that they were having difficulties with their phone system. I tried calling her back to no avail. On June 28, nine days after my Bellafill procedure, I received a message from Dr. Smith stating he was returning my phone call. He stated, "everyone was out on vacation so I'm here alone and when I'm doing a service or a procedure, I can't get to the phone, so I just do my best trying to juggle the front desk and clients." The bottom line, The Skin and Body Refinery is inept in customer service and care. I spent a large sum of money on the Bellafill injections and have seen no significant results. The two representatives from Bellafill that were at The Skin and Body Refinery that day continually said during the procedure that it would take time to see the results. It's been over one month, and I've seen no significant results. I am extremely disappointed in their customer service and care and would not recommend this business for any type of skin care treatments. read more

This establishment is clean and the staff is friendly. I did the express facial with microdermabrasion and it was a great experience. I looked online and they had a special for $45 for the fall. My face looks and feels smoother. I was also enlightened about other procedures like microneedling which I hope to try later. The doctor's consultation and explanation were very personable and made every step of my procedure easy to understand. Destiny is an exemplary interface to the public. Cool space with lots of potential but poorly managed. My service started 15 minutes late so my 60 minute massage was 45 minutes, even though I arrived 20 minutes early. Daisy who answers the phone lacks clear communication and organizational skills. Another pair of women ahead of us had to be rescheduled for 3 hours later because there was no record of the appointment they made a week earlier. I didn't receive my B12 injection because no one had scheduled a time with the doctor, despite my scheduling the service prior. The massage therapist is skilled and the treatment room comfortable. I think this place has big ideas but staff needs training on customer service and scheduling. When we checked out, the massage therapist asked the desk person to run the credit card, she was told "I'm off the clock." The best services in the world mean nothing when a disorganized and poorly trained staff cause stress and frustration while clients are trying to relax and enjoy self care. read more

On 8/19 I visited Skin and Body Refinery in Waco, TX. I had a consultation for several services and was proceeded to schedule all the services and paid for all the appointments in advance (by my own choosing) totaling $3081.00 Juvashape 5 appts at $189/ea = 945 (2 appt left = $378.00 due back) Pixel 3 appts at $445.33/ea = 1336 (2 appt left = $890.67 due back) Agnes Laser - neck treatment $1050 (1 appt left = $1050.00 due back) Total refund requested: ac$2318.67 I proceeded to the appointments as planned but began to feel that I was not getting the results promised. So, after my appointment on 10/21 my husband and I asked to speak with Dr. Smith privately regarding my treatment progress. We were told that he was with another patient and so we waited and waited. Then, he came out of the back office and immediately told us that he couldn't talk and we would have to schedule a time to come see him. We left and then called that same evening to schedule an appointment. He was not willing to speak with us regarding our concerns and quickly hung up on us as we attempted to schedule a time to meet. I called back the next day and left a message for Dr. Smith to contact me. He called back I politely told him that we simply weren't seeing results and just wanted to cancel the remaining appts and be refunded. He said, "if you're sure that's what you want. I will look at the ledger. How did you pay? I will get it back to you." We ended cordially. Two days later I called back and was told that he was out of the office. I told her that I had already spoken with Dr. Smith and just wanted to check the status of my refund. I got a call back within the hour from her stating that Dr. Smith said, "I will be hearing from his lawyer." Never in my adult life have I experienced such unprofessional-ism from a man with the title doctor. I'm very disappointed that he took my money for unpaid appointments and has the audacity to keep it as I watch my text messages roll in stating each appointment has been canceled. I am not asking for my money back on services that I was not pleased with, simply services that have not been rendered. read more

First, the massage was pretty good. But, the customer service was terrible. I thought my appointment was 15 min later than it was, so I was given a 45 min massage and charged the full hour with no explanation on the front end. I was then asked if I had time for a pedicure and there was no one else in the waiting room, so it seems like they could have just added 15 min to my massage. The lady at the front desk was extremely rude about the whole thing. Won't be going back! read more
