It was time for my annual body check to make sure nothings brewing. Jim found two spots and did biopsies. Waiting to hear if we need to take more out. Fingers crossed we don't. I totally agree with the last review from BC. I have been seeing Jim since he first started coming to Tehachapi and treating patients one or two times per week at Dr. Reyes office next to Safe 1 Credit Union. He was thorough then and is even better know. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The office staff is incredible as well as nursing staff.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I understand they have hired another PA to help with the volume of patients. You can drive to the Palmdale main office to see a Dermatologist, but you will get the same results. Yes, they are busy sometimes. Also grateful for the radiation treatments two days per week. I have gone to Bakersfield to see a great Dermatologist for many years. Jim Reith is even more thorough and truly cares about your health. Hands down the worst doctor (Reith) I have had contact with. Maybe spent 6 minutes with me, misdiagnosed the problem, gave conflicting information and was utterly dismissive. I was shocked, really. [[HIGHLIGHT]]You will never be able to contact this office directly, Ever![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Nor will you be able to get test results from them. Diagnosed with possible skin cancer, requested test results 4 times with no result. This is a large group practice with many offices and is a meat market for profit. Beware! read more

Probably the worst experience I have had with a healthcare provider of any kind in California. Read below for why: 1.) impossible to get in touch with office when scheduling important cancer removal procedures. There is a call center and your best chance is to play phone tag and beg for a call center manager to contact the office 2.) office lobby doesn't pass fire code - I counted 14 people in the lobby that is 8 ft by 10 feet with standing room only 3.) appointment is always 45 mins-1hr of waiting in crowded waiting room 4.) poor communication for procedure appointments - this morning I showed up for a procedure but they can not do procedures today. I drove 45 minutes for nothing 6.) general lack of care for patient by secretary staff who seem overworked, uninterested and unapologetic, even when they cant find your biopsy results for skin cancer diagnosis. read more

Went in for a scalp analysis. Office doesn't feel very welcoming. I had to initially say Good Afternoon to get a response. Repetive info forms. My first name was called incorrectly and I asked do you mean so and so looked at the form then said my name correctly as If I was wrong. Dr. Andy Same dead on face. I explained why I was there. Hardly looked at my scalp. I pointed a certain area and he didn't really take his time to look. He just said I'm going to prescribe a Shampoo then I said I feel.itchy and just said I'll prescribe steroids. Asked couple of questions he didn't seem to know what to say. After 3 pm I hadn't heard from anyone else, much less the doctor, and I walked out[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I understand that people are busy, but hire better staff that can schedule appointments, and as a professional he needs to be more respectful of people's time. The doctor is the best ever. Informative and friendly. The dermatologist is only available two days a week. I had an appointment for 4:30 and then they called with many cancellations I took the 10am cancellation spot and here it is 11 and I am still sitting waiting to be seen. 11:30 and now I have to schedule 3 incisions. read more

My first appointment today and it was not a good experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I believe they forgot about me in the treatment room, so I called the front desk and mentioned that I was in one of the back rooms still waiting to be seen by the PA.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They couldn't provide me any information, so I told them if, in 5 min. no one shows up I was going to leave.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] That's exactly what ended up happening. The office in Tehachapi is by far the best I have ever been too. Dr Jim is so caring and keeps you calm through it all. Tells you everything that is going on. I feel extremely comfortable with him. The girls, well they are awesome as well. All very sweet, compassionate, just what you need for this kind of medical office. I have gone a few times because getting work done and finding things out that I never knew before. I just love them all especially Dr Jim and I am not afraid to go back at all. This was my first time coming here and I was very impressed on how well this office runs. I've been to a lot of other dermatologists in my lifetime as I suffer from an ongoing skin condition, psoriasis. Let me tell you when I say suffer I mean terrible long nights of no sleep due to constant pain and discomfort. What makes it worse is when you dont have a good dermatologist/office staff to handle your prescriptions and insurance authorizations to get your medications on time. To my surprise, that was not the case for me here at Tehachapi Derm. This office staff went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of and got my prescriptions. To top it all off, coming in as a new patient was a breeze compared to other doctor offices. Once I completed my packet, they called me back. I was in the room with the doc whom was excellent. Treated me with care and listened to all my concerns. I was in the room for less than 20 minutes. Im absolutely ecstatic I cant even tell you how happy I am to have found a derm office I like.
