Truth be told, I should add "therapist" services to this list as Sandy is a truly warm and caring person and will listen to me go on ad nauseam about literally anything and everything for which I need to vent. She will not rush a client out the door when they need to talk, even if she has another client waiting. I was actually in the salon receiving a waxing when "Sindy" (previous one-star Yelp reviewer) came for her appointment. Due to the need for privacy, and also because of COVID, Sandy only has one client in the salon at a time. She keeps the front door locked as she doesn't want other people like delivery men walking into the salon when she is servicing another. The Yelp reviewer "Sindy" who left Sandy a one-star review (please don't confuse her with Sandy) started texting about ten minutes before her appointment to let Sandy know she was there. Mind you, Sandy has on a rubber gloves and a face mask at this time and is very busy focusing on my lady parts, and not her phone (I had been running a few minutes behind, and Sandy was hurrying to finish my treatment). In the few minutes it took her to finish me up and head out to address this client while I dressed, "Sindy" had knocked several times on the door and sent no less than FIVE separate texts, the last at 3:17 (her appointment was at 3:15) stating that, if Sandy didn't respond, she was leaving. Sandy walked out to the front porch, and I could hear "Sindy" immediately begin to raise her voice at her, telling her how she needs to run her business differently, answer her texts, etc. Sandy calmly explained that she had a client getting dressed and she'd get her in as soon as the room was sanitized and re-set for her. This was not good enough for "Sindy". She continued to berate Sandy until Sandy finally told her that she thought they had better just cancel the appointment as they obviously were not going to "click" as aesthetician /client. Sandy kept her head and addressed the matter in a professional way. She could easily have snapped back at this person who obviously wasn't going to use her services anyway, but she didn't. As a small business owner myself, I can tell you that I also wouldn't want a client such as that in my office, and I think that she received the result she deserved from her behavior.

I scheduled two hair spa appts for my friend and myself. When looking online they had a bunch of…read moreoptions for upgrades, so we did 90min which included shoulder/neck massage, facial, and hair spa. The best way to describe the experience is a nail salon trying to be a spa. The massage screamed nail salon massage- kinda hurts, kinda all over the place, no technique or real skill. There were weird transitions between the tools used as well. One minute a head scratcher was used, then the facial started, more hair, then facial, then massage... plus the transitions from hot to cold was weird. Steam in the face, then a cod face mask and roller, with a warm eye mask. So weird. The hairspa part was rough. No circular massage or scratching, it was just hair washing and really hard scraping with nails on the scalp. This lasted an hour. Then, I sat awkwardly in front of a mirror while she brushed my tangled half wet hair and blew a blow drier thru it. I have naturally curly hair, so she ran her fingers thru my hair as she blew the hot hair so it made my hair really poofy and wavy. I told her she could stop, so I could manage at home, and she continued. Finally she stopped. At the end, they gave us some tea and she watched as I tried it. Made me question what was in it lol I also paid for an upgrade for scalp analysis, which involved them pulling the camera and looking at my scalp after it was done and she said "see? All clean." Great analysis. The atmosphere was cute. I'm sure they do such a great job with their other services, but if they want to advertise hairspa, they should lean more into the spa piece of it and learn about different types of hair.

As the massage concluded, Roxanna said she "forgot" about my cupping services and said I would be offered a credit for my next visit. I asked to have someone call me about it, and never received a call from the manager. I decided to give Atma a second chance and booked a massage with cupping for this morning. Roxanna messaged me two hours before my appointment to say she could not do my massage, and offered me another masseuse at 2pm. I had taken the morning off from work, specifically for this appointment. I asked her to refund my money instead and have not heard a single word back. I highly recommend staying away from this day spa! They are unresponsive and unprofessional. Your money is better deserved elsewhere.
