This tartoo shop is in a small plaza in Monroe. We went in last week to see about making an appointment for tattoos for my kid and I. The place is simplistic and minimally decorated and focuses on the artists work. We were greeted immediately, and one of the artists came out from the back.This was Tabatha, who answered our questions, gave us a quote, and scheduled us with her. Fast forward to tattoo day! This was Ace's 1st tattoo ( Ace is 19), and Tabatha was incredible. She was patient as Ace had her stop multiple times to take a breather. Tabatha talked Ace through it and made the experience amazing. Tabatha then did mine, and both came out fabulous! Already made my appointment for my next tattoo with Tabatha! read more

My son and I have both been to Mitchell Pope for piercings and he's fantastic. The studio itself is super clean and I've always felt welcomed when I've been. I've seen the work of the artists there and these guys have serious talent. Highly recommend Skin City, especially if you're nervous about getting work done. The shop is hidden in a strip mall on Old Charlotte Hwy. It's easy to miss but you will regret it if you don't get work done here. There isn't a single artist there that isn't extremely talented (Based on tattoo work I've seen on friends and family) Mitchell Pope is highly professional. He has done an arrow on my back that I constantly get compliments on. Mitchell was also the only person who has pierced my nose with no bleeding. Straight through on the first try. I highly recommend Mitchell for tattoo and piercing work. read more

Fair warning. You should be aware that you will be charged for a piercing to have jewelry swapped out. Was not made aware of this "shop policy" until AFTER services had been received. Any other shop I've visited in the Charlotte area only charges you for the jewelry. $30 plus tip for something that took less than a minute. Had I been told this over the phone, at time of arrival, or when I clarified I wasn't there for a piercing when I got taken back, I would have gone to another shop. I left the shop feeling like I had been taken advantage of. read more

I definitely recommend Manly and this shop! My third tattoo and my daughters first and they were very informative and attentive!!! A good artist is very meticulous about their work but efficient at the same time and that is what Manly is. They are also good Christian people and we're playing KLove in the shop which rates them even higher in my book! This place has the right idea! Definitely worth it!! read more
