I went out of town this last weekend and had a facial.... it was nothing like Skin Deep. I was extremely disappointed. They didn't steam my face, exfoliate my skin, or do extractions! It made me really appreciate Skin Deep... really THE BEST place to get a facial. I felt like the facial tech gently rubbed my face with a bunch of different creams for an hour. After, I was so greased-up with fancy products, I had to wash my face. I will never go anywhere but Skin Deep again! read more

Once and for all, it was the cashier on duty who suggested switching to a service instead of trying for more product. So those emails you sent me were neither factual or compassionate. This isn't something I did on purpose. I didn't realize I had such great sensitivities to products and I apologized profusely each time. I debated waiting to make a purchase. At the time I used the store credit I was stuck with, I could have purchased either a service OR products. Dermalogica stands by their products, so if someone returns it to you with an allergic reaction, then they ought to reimburse. I have had to be reimbursed by Estee Lauder for some of their La Mer products which are quite expensive. By the way, this compassion you speak of should not include sending an email chain to me, nor does it include you and your employees huddling in a corner making faces while I am still in the store. Tessie is a gem! Her facials are wonderful and she is professional and sweet... If I had one criticism of Skin Deep, it is that some of the younger ladies working there tend to be snobby and occasionally downright rude which is a shame because it really is a beautiful little shop.....I wish the owners would talk to them, because after my last experience there, I would never have returned if I didn't like my aesthetician so much! read more

Horrible experience today at Skin Deep. Schedule for a 90 min manicure and pedicure. The manicurist lacked social skills and clearly did not like her job. She was all about voucher up front and then proceeded to direct me where to put my feet, all about business. The pedicure chair was tucked away between two confining walls with a view of a very odd large photo of two white birds with red eyes, luckily I had a book to stare at. She spoke more to the hair stylist over the wall then to me, at one point she had to turn off the foot spa so she could hear her talk. As for the manicure it was unadventful at least i had a view of something else. Would i go back??? no way!!! read more

This review is for Sherry in the spa. After years of bouncing between estheticians for my facials, I have found my lady! Sherry is personable, sweet, and very knowledgeable of the skin. I have the most relaxing hour with her and my skin glows after leaving her. She always makes sure my facial needs and concerns are attended to and keeps me up to date with the right product I should be using. I was very wary of going to someone new to get a haircut, but I had the most wonderful experience at Skin Deep yesterday! I found a Groupon coupon online and called to make an appointment - the receptionist was very courteous and helped me make a same-day appointment. When I arrived, I met my stylist, Recia, who was very sweet and welcoming! I explained to her how I got my hair cut at the Paul Mitchell School and that they did a terrible job, and showed her pictures of what I wanted. We talked, getting to know each other a bit, and she offered me a hot beverage since I was cold. The raspberry tea was delicious! By the end of my appointment, I was extremely happy with both my haircut and the customer service I had experienced! I will definitely be coming back to see Recia for my next haircut! read more

If you are looking for someone who does lash extentions, look no further. Caroline is the best! My first time, I got the full set. They were full long and gorgeous! She is very meticulous and they were evenly distributed. The second time I got the Flirt lashes, which is a more natural look but still long. People mistake them for my own! I love how they look! Early June I went in for a Brazilian Blowout, which I gotten done there before about a year prior. The first time I got it done I absolutely loved it for a solid 3 months before it started to fade. My second experience was completely different and I'm not really sure why. I had all the same things done and about a week later I noticed half of my hair hadn't taken to the treatment. It was curly and frizzy after a week. I contacted Skin Deep and got in touch with my hair dresser who offered to redo that section of my hair which was really nice of her! But then about a week and a half or two weeks later all of my hair had faded back to normal. A little bit about my hair for those of you who are interested in the Brazilian Blowout: I have very curly hair in the sense that it's like waves not ringlets but it is very frizzy normally. Being as frizzy as it is, it looks like I have a lot of hair, but really I have very thin hair and not much of it. Which in turn should be the perfect hair for this procedure. Even my hair dresser was confused why it hadn't worked. When I first had it done I bought the $35 shampoo and the $37 conditioner that was recommended for that treatment for aftercare to maximize the length of the blowout. I found that those products were actually tangling my hair, which is a problem I don't usually have with my normal shampoo and conditioners. Also, the first time I had the blowout done in August of 2013 I didn't have the money for the expensive aftercare so I was using a knockoff brand from Von's (which I had zero problems with) and the treatment lasted the actual length of time that they "promise." So I contacted my hair dresser again three weeks after the treatment didn't work. I had used less than half the bottles of expensive shampoo and conditioner and I was really disappointed to hear that there really wasn't anything she could do for me. She said she had never had that happen in all the years she's been doing these treatments but that if there was a significant amount of the shampoo and conditioner left that I could possibly bring them in and trade them for store credit. The actual procedure was $200 plus a tip. The shampoo and conditioner were $72 before tax. So in the end I paid just under $300 for something that didn't last even three weeks when it's supposed to last 12 weeks before it begins to ware off. Overall, I was very confused why I had such success with the first procedure in 2013 and such disappointment with the recent one just in the past month of June with a loss of $272+. I just had such high hopes and am very upset that I got basically nothing for my money. read more

Yesterday I had a micro-derm abrasion facial by Nicole Owens. It was such a delightful experience! The spa itself is very clean, calming, and peaceful. She is so knowledgeable about all the different product lines, has Amazing hands, and really likes to do extractions :-) I usually get the microderm. facial and when I leave, my skin feels completely different, so smooth and clean. Cute little boutique that also offers spa services. You can spend hours browsing the shelves. They have all kinds of skin and hair products, scented candles, jewellery and a lot of other good-smelling things we girls love. I had an amazing facial here with Mandy. She was super nice and professional. She new her products and recommended me some skincare products but wasn't pushy to sell like a lot of Estheticians are. I've been a patron of Skin Deep for many years and one of their manicurists, Caroline, is the best in town, and I've tried them all. But Skin Deep definitely needs to improve theIr appointment scheduling. I know exactly how much time Caroline's manicures and pedicure require, and I schedule my professional life accordingly. But when my scheduled Manicure or pedicure appointments are delayed by 15 minutes and sometimes even more, it is incredibly annoying. And this has happened 3 times, requiring me to cut my manicure or pedicure short in order to get back to work for scheduled meetings. And I know this is not Caroline's fault because she is not the one running behind. (There is only one pedicure station.) My hope is that management will address this issue quickly. read more

I'm trying to grow my hair out, and wanted to keep the shape that I had from my previous hair cut-- she made sure only to trim a little bit, as I had asked, and gave it exactly the shape I had described. I have been going to Skin Deep for many years now for facials, waxing and the occasional last minute card of gift. I have almost always had good experiences, (except for the occasional rude receptionist, typical of any salon). I usually never request a specific esthetician, for the most part they have all been good at what they do. I will say there were a handful of times in which I was unhappy with my services....I guess you can't win them all! The last time I made an appointment, they put me with someone who I had never heard of, so I was not sure what to expect! I was pleasantly suprised. Her name was Lacy....the waxing was painless and the facial was the best I have EVER had (and I have had many in my lifetime), I walked out of there feeling as if I were floating! she made me feel extremely comfortable and was kind, funny and very professional and not to mention extremely gorgeous.....(and humble too). She kept me engaged in conversation during the waxing which took my mind off of the whole thing, and it was super quick! I am so excited to have found this wonderful girl! ( I just hope she doesn't leave., this always seems to happen...but if she did, I would definitely follow her!). So next time you get a treatment at Skin Deep, I highly recommend asking for Lacy....she is the BEST Esthetician EVER, hands down! read more

I am completely stunned by the lack of quality customer service demonstrated by this salon. I bought a Groupon for an amazing price for a mani-pedi treatment that I was thrilled about using for my upcoming wedding. I called the salon 4 weeks (1 month) ahead of the date that I was hoping to go to the salon only to find out that they were booked until after the date of my wedding. I shared with the receptionist that I had bought the special deal with the hopes of saving a bit of money while being able to experience a new salon. She let me know that they weren't completely booked, but this is what they were telling Groupon customers. There was an appointment available the same week of my wedding. However, the receptionist shared that the manicurist only accepts one Groupon customer per day. This was a surprise to me because nothing on the coupon that I bought listed this as being one of the salon's policies contingent with the deal. As it turned out, the manicurist, even knowing that I wanted to get my nails done for my wedding, still refused to take me as a customer because she was already fulfilled on her "quota" of Groupon customers for the day that the appointment was available. The receptionist asked if I wanted to schedule for a different date and I declined. Later that day, after considering the situation, I called the salon again and shared my experience with another receptionist. I told the woman that I was astounded that the manicurist would refuse my business, even though there was an appointment available, and that they may have lost a potential customer. (I regularly get treatments done at another salon in the area.) She assured me this is nothing that the owner would want and that this was unacceptable. She also said that I would be contacted by the owner to rectify the issue. Needless to say, considerable time has passed and I have not been contacted by the owner. I will never visit this salon and will share my experience with my friends to discourage them from getting any services done at Skin Deep seeing as they have made me feel like a second rate customer and did not consider my wedding day an important event. read more

I have been going to this salon for over 4 years. One of the things I have always enjoyed was their loyalty program - $25 store credit after 10 services. Well first they changed the program to that you only get one service credit per visit, even if you were getting more than 1 service in one day (e.g. Pedicure and Facial). Now the last time I was in there the clerk didn't even bother asking for my loyalty card - which really annoyed me, as who can keep track of every store or service that you get a card from. I appreciate it when the clerk asks/reminds you. Being that this store likes to change it's policies without even notifying loyal patrons (yes, I was linked to their Facebook site) I have decided to move on. I continue to be impressed with the level of attention I am given At Skin Deep. I had a facial,(done by Suzanne) , and felt pampered, and at the same time, informed on how to care for my skin. The staff was attentive, and when I brought it to their attention that I had been in just one week earlier than their promotion (for which great skin care products were given away with a purchase or service), they immediately offered me those items, along with a tote bag!
