This location is officially my favorite location in DC! I went on Sunday just to browse and see/try…read moresome products in store during the Spring Savings event. The store was fully stocked and the staff was both friendly and helpful! Special s/o to the manager (Andi) who talked to my sister and I about new products and gave great recommendations. I ended up leaving with some new items & samples! Thank you all!

During a recent visit, I tried to purchase two items; one was unavailable in-store. The associate…read moreoffered me a free shipping card with a code to order the item. I thankfully made it a point to make sure the free shipping code actually worked while attempting to make the purchase via the Ulta App before leaving the store, and that's when I discovered it was expired--dated January 2026, while it was now the end of April 2026. The fact that these cards had been expired for nearly four months stood out to me as extremely alarming--no one had noticed until I flagged it. There were apparently no other shipping cards to provide me with and so I departed the store after 15 minutes of wasted time of them trying to sort this out only for them to tell me that there is nothing they could do. I contacted customer service upon leaving the store. After my first call, the associate disconnected the line. On a second call, another associate kept repeating internal processes, but eventually proposed a solution: I would pay for shipping upfront, and then they would reimburse me after the fact. Unfortunately, this is not isolated; previously, a few months prior I went to the store because a product I was looking for was listed as in-store, but the associate told me I couldn't buy it--even though it was right there on the shelf. I verified availability online, and still, I was misled. She stated that although it was on the shelf it was erroneously placed there and listed online as in store but could not be sold until a couple days out and that I could return when it is available for purchase or simply purchase online. These repeated failures--both in-store and with customer service--reflect a troubling pattern. In a market with competitors like Amazon and Sephora, Ulta has been falling drastically short. There has been a noticeable shift where basic customer expectations are simply not being met. I tend to go to Ulta because it is very close to my home but will not be returning as my first option/ go to any longer. I made this same commitment after my experience at Best Buy and I have only been there 1x in 20 years to buy something worth $6!

I'm absolutely clueless when it comes to most makeup. I wish I remembered the name of the ladies who helped me, but it's been a couple of months. The staff were so friendly, helpful, and understanding. They sat me down and analyzed my face and skin tone, and listened to other needs I had (like withstanding sweat, as I teach fitness) and matched me with all the things I needed to cover up the bad bruises - a good sweat-resistant primer, color corrector, concealer, setting powder, an SPF setting spray to protect everything from the sun, and even some basic tools for applying these things that I just didn't have. I felt seen, listened to, and helped. They even applied the makeup for me, which was so nice! After the stress of the bruising, and feeling clueless how to cover it up, it was so nice to be helped with such expertise and understanding.

I didn't even know the store was there and go to Starbucks every day. I don't even want to write this review because I think Alex is the secret weapon. He's so knowledgeable and personable and helped me with not only my make up for my head shot but I came back for an every day summer look tutorial. He is super patient. I can't sing his praises enough.

I didn't even know there was a promotion so I was pretty excited when I stumbled on it. The perfume gift set was $90 and the perfume I chose from the set was worth $105 so I saved even on the "full" bottle - which was honestly only 1oz, but still. The gift set had Gucci Bloom, Burberry Goddess, Carolina Herrera Good Girl Blush and 4 other bottles that had 2 roll on perfumes and 2 spray perfumes. Unfortunately, you need to buy the set before you can open the pack to pull out the coupon and that's where things went south for me. I opened the pack in store right after buying the pack and asked for Burberry Goddess. The lady at the counter said it was lunch time so they were short-staffed and I would need to wait for the other staff in store to come get the perfume for me... understandable. It took about 10 minutes for someone to show up. When he did, he said he couldn't find it. The coupon offers the option to order it online and have it shipped for free. Even with the directions on the card, I told them to show me how to do it online to make sure I didn't have difficulties after leaving the store and sure enough, you can't redeem it online with the instructions on the coupon. They said I would need to go to the website, click on customer support then tell them about my purchase, give them the code and my address to get it sent. The risk for further complications seemed unnecessarily high so I asked if they could pull up stores in the area to see if anyone had the perfume in store and I would just walk there to pick it up. When they did, it showed their store had it. They keep all their perfumes locked up so it's not like someone stole it however, after another 15 minutes, it couldn't be found. To be fair, she called the nearest store to confirm they had it before sending me there. As happy as I am for the score and money saved and as much as I appreciate their efforts to help me, I spent a total of 30minutes, mostly just standing in a corner and waiting for something that still wasn't found. It would be nice if they kept better inventory and saved customers the time and trouble of waiting for something they don't have. Will I go back? Unfortunately.
