This business deserves a 5 out of 5 star rating not only because it's BWO (Black Woman Owned) but also because she's AMAZING at what she does. ..so BOOM, I arrived to my appointment fairly early because she's located in the Georgetown area and with traffic congestion mixed in with lack of parking it worked out perfectly. I walked into what appeared to be a male grooming salon & when I asked for Sidney I was politely instructed to take the steps downstairs. It was as if I walked through the Wardrobe & into a Narnia made for the pampering of us girls (NOT THAT GUYS CANT ENJOY EITHER) where I was met with floral walls , amazing smells , calming music & surprisingly good magazine options. As Sidney finished up with a prior client she made sure to acknowledge me with a welcoming smile & a warmer personality. ..After filling out my New Patient form on the handy-dandy iPad. I was welcomed into Sids actually work space where we sat & talked about my skin issues & desires of making it better. Now , what I appreciate most about this particular step is that it shows she's not just after the money. She takes the time to LISTEN to the ways you say your skin has been talking to you & genuinely inquires about what goals & desires you have for your skin going forward. After our "pow-wow" I was instructed to remove my clothes & slip into a little tub top like robe (I noticed a washer & dryer while I was waiting so I had no doubts that what I was given was indeed clean). Sidney returned to the room with freshly washed hands & water for my cleansing as she told me that's what she would be doing while I was undressing. .. She made sure that I was aware & comfortable with what my total service cost were (I received a Signature Detox Facial w/ Dermaplane). As we proceeded with the services she was vocal about things she noticed with my skin & even planning ahead for what we could do to better help achieve what my personal goals were. She made me feel completely at ease as this was my very 1st professional facial explaining everything she was doing as well as the benefits of it. I am beyond satisfied with the results & looking forward to my next appointment . Sidney was amazing. She was highly professional and was perfect for my first time getting a facial. Sidney was able to explain her process to me in a way that I could understand without also trying to sell me a bunch of products that I cant afford. I have been going to Sidney for facials since 2017. She helped me get my skin wedding-ready! She is knowledgeable about skincare and tailored the perfect skincare regiment for all of my skin needs and issues. I love how inviting (and squeaky clean!) her space is. The best part is that she trains you on how to take care of your skin in-between facials. I have never had that experience before, and it is has kept my skin in the best condition. This place is absolutely amazing. This is my first time getting waxed since I got to DC for school in August and it was an absolute pleasure. Sidney is so nice and her great conversation made the time go by much faster and she did a fantastic job of making me feel comfortable while I was on the table. I've gone to places such as European Wax Center and Waxing the City before but at Skin Identity the atmosphere is so much better. Prices here are also more affordable with added professionalism and care that I don't even get in bigger chains. Everything here feels personal as opposed to commercialized.
