Borod S. looks like it used to be a home some time ago and now has two businesses in one location with a Beauty/Nail Salon on main floor and Borod on 2nd and 3rd floors. The Spa's waiting room is set in light olives, creams and some light wood touches here and there. The lights are dim- but not too dim. There's a window facing Central Avenue giving nice burst of sun. The music is soothing. Borod S. has the slightest hint (very slight) of lavender in the air. The joy of joys, I'm at the spa. Some spa rooms have white walls and can get boring, fast- but not at Borod. The few rooms are classic and clean with a minimalist and refreshing feel. Borod's owner Diana has been doing my facial treatments with ultra care and the sofffffftest hands when I come here. You can book online or call to reserve- though I highly don't think you'll be seen as a walk-in in the spur of the moment- so definitely go with the first two options. Prices for some items are reasonable, they may seem slightly up there- but it's the extra little touches that she uses at the end of your session- like applying some sunscreen or other lotions before heading out the door.

We found the Botanical Spa & Salon on Amazon Local. So to make sure we could use the deal immediately (as in next day), I called before purchasing to make sure they would accept it. The guy told me that I didn't need to buy the deal and they would honor the price. You would just pay them instead of paying Amazon, so that's what we did. They happened to have a slot open so the timing worked for us. Turns out, it wasn't actually a couples massage. You're actually in separate, adjoining rooms, and they just leave that door open. That's fine but if that's the case, they shouldn't advertise it as a "couples massage." Other than that, the massage was nice - nothing to complain about, but also nothing to write home about. The deal also included an add-on service, which was either a back scrub or a foot mask. I opted for the back scrub. They were a little rough on that but it was worth it because my back felt really smooth afterwards. With a massage, you also get access to their fitness center, hot tub, and pool. There's also a locker room and showers but the showers are pretty dismal-looking. One of the two doesn't even have a soap/shampoo dispenser. I probably wouldn't be back because the facilities didn't seem too spa-like (especially when you're sharing with hotel guests, since it's located within the Marriott). Plus, I feel like I could find a better deal elsewhere.

My massage was incredible, it was with John. I told him that I'm on my feet a lot at work. This past week was a very busy week and I worked close to 60 hard long hours. I also told him that I ached everywhere. He worked out every knot I had! It was a little painful at first but I was in bad shape. He found knots I didnt know I had ,stretched my limbs and worked on my flexibility. I feel like a new person. I've had regular massages 2-3 times a year for years and he was the best I've ever had. The spa is nice , relaxing dimly lit. Its a little odd that you check in next door and sit outside waiting to be called in, your basically sitting in the hotel lobby. A private waiting room would be a nice addition.
