Making the appointment through Vagaro was easy, walked me through a thorough intake form, and allowed me to choose my esthetician. I went with Allegra who was a darling from the minute I stepped into Dermaspace. Any worries or fears quickly drifted off given the dim lighting, chill music and zen ambiance. Allegra had a sweet personality, explained the entire process from start to finish, was knowledgeable about anything related to skincare and health, and most importantly, gentle. The facial was around an hour and fifteen minutes, including a discussion of my skin concerns, allergies, goals, etc. It consisted of roughly four total steps: 1) Gentle facial cleansing and exfoliation 2) Moisturization and detoxification using yucca soaked cloth within a volcanic heated cone 3) Deep cleaning of my entire face, clearing out any and all clogged pores 4) Ionization facial wrap of nourishing cotton with a leather mask connected to low voltage electrical current in order to ionize the solution. Afterwards, my face felt completely refreshed and as if years were taken off. There is a reason it has won the best facial in Seattle/PNW for many years--the treatment is truly results driven and very effective. I plan to be back soon.

The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. I've been seeing Jody Leon, the owner, for 10 years. I've also had facials with Trevor who is also fantastic. Everyone is welcome and no one is made to feel out of place. I can't recommend this place enough. The other big plus, is you walk out looking amazing with a glow. You can go from your facial to the rest of your day without looking like you just had a facial. I can't wait for my next appointment.

I've been going to Lake Washington Dermatology for about the last 5-6 years and have been a patient…read moreof Dr. Kim's for most of that time. I have had truly nothing but great experiences with her and her office and would highly recommend her as a provider! I have been dealing with idiopathic urticaria (spontaneous hives) since 2009 and have seen many doctors and specialists who have never been able to find a solution. Then, a few years ago, I started having cold-induced hives as well, making it impossible for me to go out in the winter without breaking out in hives or even handle cold glasses and objects for too long. After no luck with increased antihistamine use, Dr. Kim prescribed me Xolair, which has been used experimentally for hives. It took a few weeks of her petitioning my insurance for use, but she got approval. Her and her team handled all of the back and forth and kept me updated throughout the process, and since I got on the medication, I have had no to minimal hive breakouts since. Then again this past year, when my employer-provided insurance changed, Dr. Kim and her team have continued to battle approvals for me and help me obtain samples while we sorting things out with insurance denials. Yvonne, a medical assistant on her team, has been extremely helpful and responsive, battling this for months now and keeping me informed and medicated in the meantime. Dr. Kim is the only person who has ever been able to help me with this condition, and her and her whole team have been nothing but professional, helpful and caring throughout my time as her patient.

I've been a patient here for ten years or thereabouts. I think the maximum time I have seen the…read moresame doctor more than once before they left the practice, I saw them twice. I was supposed to have an appointment today but realized this morning that I hadn't gotten any confirmation from them, so I called to make sure I was still on the schedule before heading over. They told me "my" doctor, a person I had not met before, had left the practice and they would not have the capacity to reschedule me. They offered to give me the number of another clinic that they're offloading patients to. They claimed I should have received a letter and a text that my appointment was cancelled. I never got a letter, and when I went back and looked, the text I received did not actually indicate to me that the person leaving the practice was my doctor. It just said that a doctor was leaving the practice and IF you happened to have an upcoming appointment with that doctor, you should call to reschedule. Needless to say, the writing has been on the wall for awhile that this is not a clinic with a future for the kind of derms patient I am (maybe, as another review surmises, they are going 100% cosmetic which means less annoyance with insurance and more money per visit), and I guess I'm glad to have had them force me out as a patient so I can find a doctor who I will actually recognize from year to year. But man, what an unprofessional way to go about it with a pretty long term patient.

I previously left a poor review last year because nearly every visit resulted in waiting at least…read more15 minutes past my scheduled appointment time. The manager replied at the time, acknowledging the issue and saying they were "fine-tuning appointment durations" and making adjustments. Wanting to give them the benefit of the doubt, I decided to try again this year. To be clear, the front desk staff and nurses have always been friendly and professional--no complaints there. During this most recent visit, they explained their internet was down, so I tried to be understanding. My appointment was at 11:50, but I wasn't called back until about 20 minutes later. After a brief conversation with the nurse, I changed into my gown and then waited another 15 minutes before the doctor (Andrea Jones) came in. She didn't apologize for the delay--just said, "Hi, thanks for your patience, welcome back." After waiting roughly 40 minutes past my appointment time, I expected a bit more acknowledgment, but I let it go. This was an annual skin exam. Dr. Jones asked about a mole on my cheek that had been bothering me last year, so I explained that I had it removed by another dermatologist a few months after my last appointment with her. I told her the area didn't completely smooth out after being shaved off, but that I wasn't eager to go through another cutting-and-healing process unless there was a less invasive option, like laser. She confirmed there wasn't, and said punching it out might be the best option. Somewhere in the conversation, things seemed to get lost in translation. I said I was tired of dealing with it, and she took that as me agreeing to another procedure. She then told me it would cost $750 since it was cosmetic. I was confused because I never said I wanted a procedure done. After we cleared that up, she responded: "Oh, then why are we even talking about this? We're just wasting our time talking about something you're not interested in treating." Like, I'm sorry--I'M wasting YOUR time?? Talk about RUDE. She had asked about my cheek, and I was simply answering her question. I never said I wasn't interested in improving it--only that I didn't want another surgical cut. That is not an appropriate way to speak to a patient. We continued with the skin exam. She mentioned my scalp looked irritated, so I explained the recent issues I'd had (acne flare-ups, scalp psoriasis, etc.). She listened, but showed no empathy for the stress or frustration I'd been dealing with. Her only response was, "Well, we can do a patch test," which felt more like another upsell than genuine care. Overall, she showed zero concern, and it felt like she was eager to end the appointment once she realized I wasn't planning to spend extra money on treatments or tests. Basically a 50 minute appointment for 5 minutes of the actual "Doctor's time". I gave this place a second chance after my poor experience last year, hoping things would improve. Unfortunately, today's visit confirmed the opposite. I will absolutely not be returning. Not now, not ever.

I went in for a laser treatment, got a chemical peel and had burning/stabbing pain on my face right after the peel. My cheeks became red and discolored for over a week, and I was scared because it was my face. I documented everything, including the fact that the consent form was signed after the treatment, not before. The provider did refund me and sent aquaphor after she was scared of a lawsuit. She refused to reimburse a derm appointment. My skin did improve but there is still pain and pigmentation. The way the business handled my concern afterward was awful. Instead of simply focusing on aftercare and making sure my skin was okay, the Director of Operations Jesse started questioning my "claims," my "intentions," and even called me a "Groupon shopper." That was rude, discriminatory, insulting, and completely unnecessary. I came in as a paying customer. Whether I used Groupon or not has nothing to do with how I should be treated when I report pain and a reaction on my face. If not for groupon, this place wouldn't be able to pay the rent which is why they advertise on Groupon in the first place. They withheld meds that they claim to have ordered in lieu of more photos everyday so they can "verify" their claims. Due to a confusion with the order number, they figured I bought another groupon from another spa way before going to Skintegrity. None of my other groupons had anything to do with the treatment I went in for nor it should matter to the business. This is invasion of privacy without cause. I was also told I was "obviously trying to build a case," which is ridiculous. I was trying to make sure my skin healed and that I had proper documentation because the reaction happened immediately after their treatment. A customer reporting burning, tenderness, and discoloration after a facial treatment should be treated with care, not attitude. The communication afterward made me feel dismissed, judged, and attacked. I would not trust this place with my skin again.
