My car apparently broken head gasket, but Skinner recommended the entire head be replaced. I ended up paying $2.3k for repairs on a car that cost $2.4k--the mechanics there insisted it was worth the price of fixing it. Not only did the repair take 3 weeks, but the car broke down hours after I picked it up because radiator and engine problems. When it was examined by another mechanic, he said not only did the head not have to be replaced, but they neglected to pressure test the system--resulting in further damage to my car. When I called Skinner about this new development they were incredibly unhelpful, and AAA is mediating our dispute. STAY AWAY. read more

When I brought my van to be inspected I was told that a section of the frame had rotted away and that they would have to cut it out and bring it to a junk yard to get it replaced. After bringing it to a independent mechanic instead who is also a relative, I was told the only reason it wouldn't pass a inspection is because of the brakes. Very shady business. read more

After my insurance road side assistance dropped the ball and failed to dispatch a tow truck, leaving my husband and myself on the side of the 90 for over an hour, Skinner Towing came to the rescue. They showed up 29 minutes after the call. The driver called my cell to better locate us when he couldn't find us. He hooked up our vehicle quickly and safely and took us where we wanted to go. This was all in the dark and during a wind storm. The driver wasn't very chatty and I never learned his name but he was professional and polite. Skinners towed my car after an accident. My car was totaled, so there was no repair services necessary. The reason for this low review is upon going to retrieve my personal items from my vehicle I noticed some things missing. They weren't even the most expensive things in the car (which I am thankful for). It was just really petty and disappointing. read more

i would highly recommend never every going to this location. they are scam artists who try to make your car fail and not pass inspection so they can charge you an arm an a leg for them to repair something they broke, like taking a blowtorch to a perfectly working O2 sensor or unhooking bulbs to say they need to replace them and charge you 50bucks to do so please never go to this location!!! any another place is better then this! read more
