Skinny Louie is an award winning burger spot and has become a popular smash burger restaurant that opened its first Broward County location at Dania Pointe. They are also in New York. They offer Black Angus beef smash burgers, crispy fries, and milkshakes. It's a casual spot where the staff are so welcoming that they yell "Welcome to Skinny Louie" just as you enter their shop! I loved their enthusiasm. The vibe is energetic with music playing. The crowd can be noisy. There is inside and outside dining. Street parking with a parking lot across the street for the mall. We both ordered Skinny Louie Cheeseburger doubles with their house-made "Louie sauce" and crispy fries. Juicy inside the burger but perfectly crispy on the edges. Plenty of cheese too. Fries were as good as the burger. Both seasoned perfectly. We had ice water to go with it. All of it was DELICIOUS x 2!! Our favorite smash burgers in South FL now. Excellent way to celebrate national burger day at Skinny Louie located in Dania Pointe. It's a local smash burger restaurant that is known for its 100% Black Angus Beef and cooked to order. They offer burgers, fries and milkshakes. I ordered the Skinny Louie Classic burger that had a patty with American cheese, tomato, lettuce, onions, ketchup, and mustard. It was definitely fresh and tasty. I also ordered the fries that were thin and crispy. The restaurant is small, but the service is fast and the staff is very nice. Walked by this burger joint several times in Dania Pointe and noticed it was always hopping and strangely only two bays down from a dead Burger Fi. Ate here today and realized why the big customer interest. Decent size outside umbrella shaded patio with a small inside dining room with red shellacked tables and a complimentary modern water dispensor. Limited 100% Angus Beef smash style hamburger menu posted on the wall. (Skinny Louie Cheeseburger, Classic Burger, Applewood Bacon Burger). Ordered the Skinny Louie cheese burger with a single smash patty. Basically its an upcharge of $3.00 for each additional beef patty. So a triple smash burger is $14.00. The burger was average size and a blast of flavor and the wife loved it too. Just a trial burger today but would get the triple smash on my next visit. A side of fries is $4.00 and they offer three flavors of milkshakes for $7.00. Also prepare to use plastic since cash is not accepted. The gender neutral bathroom was clean with worn cement industrial style flooring and white wall tiles accented with red grout. We've been meaning to try this place for a while but it always seems packed so we skipped it a few times. Finally we were in the area on a weekday and we decided to stop by and we're glad we did. Skinny Louie is my favorite new addition to Dania Pointe. I have been a few times since they've opened and always leave so content. I get the skinny Louie cheeseburger, fries and add Louie sauce! The burger is perfectly seasoned & full of flavor. Yes, it is a bit greasy but would you not want your burger greasy? lol I dined last with my mom and we always share an order of fries, which ends up being plenty. She also loved the cookies & cream shake. The space is small but large enough for tables inside and some even outside. The wait is sometimes 15-30 minutes which I think is reasonable since the burger is fresh! My one complaint is I wish they had diet soda. I do love a good smash burger and there is so much hype about this place that I had to try it out. We ordered a double skinny louie, single skinny louie, fries, and a cookies and cream shake. It was overall a bit pricey for smash burgers though. For the double, there was a visible amount oil and grease on the wrapping of my burger that made a trail around the burger. That make it more greasy than I expected. The single burger didn't have that issue but seemed to lack the onions that came with it. The fries were good along with the louie sauce but the shake was only ok. I wanted to like this place but getting a greasy burger kind of ruined it. There are some improvements that need to be done at this location to have better consistency. It does get busy here even during the weekday so expect a wait depending on what time you get there. I visited on a Friday around 2, it took a good 40 mins to get through the line, place an order and receive my food. I have always wanted to visit Skinny Louie but whenever I go to miami it's not the place I want to try, so finally the Dania pointe location opened which was close enough to me! It's located right in the food boulevard section of Dania pointe so nice and convenient especially if everyone you are with doesn't want a burger there are other options. Quick glance there are a ton of seating inside and outside the restaurant and the menu is quite simple. Literally only three burger options and one side of fry. I went with the classic burger just because I wanted those toppings on it. The order was made quickly and couldn't wait to finally give it a try! I ordered a Louie sauce on the side to dip the fries in and I wish it came with a little more sauce so I could really enjoy it as the fries definitely need more sauce in relation to the sauce container. The fries itself were very crispy and super hot. You can tell they are made to order. The smash burger itself was delicious! I can't say it's the best smash burger I have ever had but it was really good. Maybe the constant years or hype I had for the restaurant put expectations way too high, but lately there are two other spots that come to mind when I think of the best smash burger in broward. Maybe it's the best in miami but it's definitely not in broward. It's a bit greasy as well which I feel if the meat and the smash was good enough you wouldn't have that problem. My family and stopped by for a quick snack while in the area enjoying our Sunday. We ordered fries and a milkshake. While I'm not able to speak on the burgers, which we will definitely try next time, the fries were like elevated McDonald's fries tasting more fresh.m and perfectly season in my opinion (not too salty). If you enjoy McDonald's fries, these might be for you! As for the milkshake, we ordered strawberry. Though the milkshake filled my sweets craving, I probably wouldn't order it again. I prefer Chick-Fil-A's strawberry milkshake. However, I would try another flavor! They only had 2 other options: cookies and cream and chocolate brownie. It is a bit small and tight inside. It was packed that day. They have a bunch of high tables and banquette seating toward the back. If you don't like cramped space, there's also outside seating which would be best for families especially with small children. Still hands down the BEST smash burger in South Florida. The burgers are always perfectly cooked, flavorful, neatly prepared, and worth every single calorie. 10/10 recommend if you're a smash burger fan! Even the skinny fries are fire. I didn't try a shake, so I will have to get back for more. The burger was so tasty and the fries were nice and crispy. When Dania Pointe announced Skinny Louie being placed into their plaza, I started doing research on when the opening day was. Once it was announced, it was also advertising free burgers for the first 100 customers in line for the Grand Opening. After standing in line for 2 hours, the line started moving, burgers started flowing and right as I was about to order they announce they have reached their cap... but with the other 200+ people waiting outside, they added on another 100 free burgers. Everyone got a free Skinny Louie burger and if you wanted something else, you ordered it with your order number. Besides the burger, I ordered the fries and a Strawberry Bliss shake to try a little of everything. The Skinny Louie was made fresh, cheesy and not super greasy for being a smash burger even though the wrapper gives that effect. The fries were perfectly salted and crispy but Strawberry Bliss shake was just okay. The strawberry flavor was over powered by the vanilla base. One thing to bring up was the pickup area being right next to where you order, customers seems to crowed the area which caused it hard to get you order once it is called. Because the food was good the first visit and the experience wasn't horrible, I proceeded to go back about 2+ weeks later for another burger. Parties were waiting awhile to place an order and orders were taking 20+ minutes to be called out for pick up. Due to a crowd conjugating where pick ups are like last visit, it was making super hard for parties to grab their orders and talk to employees about missing items. I stopped by twice before already. One was during the week around lunch and another at night. It definitely gets packed and the menu isn't that extensive. You have 3 burger options to choose from, only side is fries and a few milkshakes but nothing besides water and soda really. I was craving a lemonade or maybe sweet tea so just beware of that. We also got an order of their fries. We were so hungry we forgot to take a picture but in would give it a 7/10. I love burgers and this one to me was just okay. I tried to add lettuce and tomatoes to the bacon burger, which seemed reasonable since they already have a burger with those toppings, but they wouldn't allow it. I also got the strawberry milkshake, which was good but still pretty average. The fries were okay, and the sauce was probably the best part of the meal. My kids wanted to eat here. The idea seems great. A simple menu, Mexican coke. However, I did not care for their drippy, greasy, soggy smash burger. Be aware that a $3.99 side of fries is a super small portion. The kids liked everything. What can I say? Soft opening weekend - first time at Skinny Louie's, Ordering was quick and easy but the place was packed as most were waiting on food orders. Food was a bit on the slower side but it was a soft opening so completely understandable as the staff was in its training phase. The food was hot and fresh, I ordered an applewood bacon burger on a gluten free bun because I'm gluten free and truly appreciated this option, my burger was hot but a bit on the blander side but okay, felt like it was lacking something but like I said it was okay. My hubby ordered the triple classic which he said was good but not the best. We also had an order of fries which were actually really good, they were fresh and really hot. Lastly we topped it off with a milkshake, the strawberry bliss which I failed to take a pic of, sorry. At first glance the strawberry shake looked a different color not pink but didn't think too much of it. The flavor was not strawberry flavored, it was actually cookie flavored, so upon googling we found out it contain Lotus Biscoff crumbs in the shake which we really didn't feel any crumbs but can taste the flavor while having it. Well needless to say I got sick from it, a lesson learned. Suggestions would be to note next to the menu items stating contains gluten since we both assumed that the bliss was not a cookie crumbled into the shake. And this will ensure others with celiac or that are gluten sensitive to avoid this item. Also train your staff to be more knowledgeable and helping others avoiding an item that can make them sick. read more
