I love this place! If you're in the landscaping business or you do tree work, this is your toy…read morestore! The customer service is top notch!! An honest, local, family owned business who are passionate about you and your business. When you walk in, the first thing you notice is that everything is well organized, then you notice everything is clean. (I needed a very small and specialized screw one time and Gaylon went into a file box and pulled out an envelope with smaller envelopes inside and voila! There was the screw I needed!) Someone always greets you when you enter and if they can't help right away, they at least acknowledge your presence and let you know they'll be with you shortly. (Which gives you time to browse the specialty tools and make you want to spend more than what you intended to!) Another instance, I brought them in a small roto-tiller that wasn't running right, and in my opinion went above and beyond. They not only fixed it to like-new condition within a few short days, but when I got it back, it was cleaner than when I dropped it off and the wires that go from the throttle to the engine were very neatly taped up. I hadn't even thought of taping them myself, but what a nice thing, now the wires don't get caught on other tools in the truck or on branches of shrubs near where I'm working. Gaylon (sorry if I didn't spell that correctly) along with the rest of his family are very knowledgeable about the products they carry. Or if you have a problem with how you get a certain job done currently, he is usually able to help you come up with a solution by finding you something that he carries or that he can order, or he will point you in the direction or someone else local who can help. (Which he has done for me several times) They stand behind the products they sell and they welcome feedback about their products so that they don't waste time selling items of inferior quality or that don't work efficiently. Thank you guys, keep up the good work!

MULCH PURCHASED FROM LUTZ'S - 11 CU YARDS…read more April 7, 2025, I had 11 cu. yds. double ground bark mulch delivered from Lutz's located at 4407 Skippack Pk. Schwenksville PA. That bill was $453.10, including a $45 delivery fee. I was most disappointed when just 1 month later, hundreds of Pinellia weed smothered my vast areas of garden. Pinellia weed is considered "the bane of gardening" in the industry since it is highly invasive and is an INERADICABLE nuisance, there's nothing you can spray to kill it. I spent days DIGGING up Pinellia since you can't just pull it; until I had no more trash cans to place the heavy dirt with weed awaiting pick up. NOTE: The complete root buried under the surface must be removed, including the tuber 6" to 8" below the garden soil. Having an enormous amount of work remaining, I stopped back at their office and asked to speak to the business owner regarding a refund. I explained to Marlene, the owner, I don't allow the use of PREEN WEED KILLER, which is standard in the industry, since it KILLS ALL BULBS BURIED and PLANTED. I also suggested that the Pinellia weed seed could be held in the rough ridges of the surface bark (since I purchased bark mulch) and ground in their product. She suggested that I email pictures to document the problem and she would discuss it with "the guys"/other owners. In that email, I also included a picture of a wooded cluster garden section that I don't mulch, which contained NO WEED. I was disappointed when Marlene returned the call the next day stating there would be NO REFUND. It didn't matter that the Pinellia weed was only in the mulched areas, nor did she accept the fact the rough bark would hold the weed seed and ground in her product. She further stated she gets no complaints from landscapers. (That's because they all use PREEN WEED KILLER to deliver a satisfactory job.) NOTE: on a scale of 1 to 5, Yelp's rating is a 3 from their customers

We have bought firewood for our indoor fireplace for over 20 years. We purchased from Lutz this…read moreyear and it is absolutely the worse firewood we have ever purchased. It is clearly not all seasoned wood as they stated on the phone. The wood does not burn right and creates a lot of smoke. When I called, Marlene blamed it on my not knowing how to light a fire correctly, even though I've been doing so for over 20 years with no issues. Trying to rectify the situation with them was useless and a nightmare. Stay away!
