Stopped in here after a nail appointment in Federal Way on a Sunday. My husband wanted teriyaki, and I really didn't feel like making multiple stops, so we gave this place a try. He got the spicy chicken teriyaki, and I decided (against my better judgment) to try something different and ordered the cheesesteak instead of one of their burgers--which I already know are really good. I should've just stuck with that. The cheesesteak was okay. The meat was tender and the flavor wasn't bad, but it was really dry. By the time I got home, I had to add my own condiments just to make it more enjoyable. It just felt like something was missing. My husband wasn't impressed with the teriyaki either. I didn't try it myself, but he said it wasn't the best he's had and probably wouldn't order it from here again. One highlight though--the peanut butter banana milkshake was delicious. I've been coming here ever since I was a little kid. The staff have seen me from primary school until the end of high school, with one lady in particular sometimes treating me with mandarins or chocolates. I'm two years out of college now and no longer live in the area, but took my husband here this summer. All of the nostalgia is still there, in the food, the decor, the friendly faces. The portions are still sizeable (you can see that in the picture from the first bite I took before I remembered to take a photo) and they still have the best fries with the best dipping sauce! The restaurant's name is fitting for the generous portions! We've been on a bit of a burger roll trying burgers at different places. This place did not disappoint! Service was great. We've ordered the BBQ burger meal and Swiss Mushroom burger. The size of these burgers were impressive without being overly messy, oily or salty. The woman who took our order chuckled when she saw my husband's reaction to the size of the burger. We had to smash it a bit to take a bite. The French fries were fresh, seasoned and crispy, and served surf tubs of ketchup/mayo type of dipping sauce. If you aren't in the mood for a burger, there are a LOT of other choices! Headed South from the airport I decided to turn around and go back to Seattle. I was a bit hungry so I searched for the best burger place in the area and Monster Burger popped up with over 1,000 reviews! 3 miles wasn't that far, was it? I popped in to find a line of locals getting their lunch on. Huge Pictures all over the inside the restaurant showcase their foods with exception of a burger...hmmm. Line went quickly and I placed my order within a few minutes. Half of the menu is filled with various burger options ( ~20) and the other half is Asian cuisine (Japanese & Chinese). I came for the burger and fries this that is what I committed to...but Gyoza was on special so I'll take that too ;) Most people seem to get it to go but they had a few tables decorated with Tabasco and Chiluba so I decided to enjoy it here while watching the big screen tv airing the news. Here's my review of the food: We ordered the Double cheeseburger Meal w fries and a 10 pc Gyoza. We though both we're very good and agreed that we would come again if we ever were hungry and wanted Philz coffee. The fries were soggy and droopy 3/10 won't order them again. The real reason for the 3/5 stars is that we had to wait 10 minutes for the gal to acknowledge us and take our order. Once our order was taken it was another 10 minutes to get our order. No problem there but not sure why we had to wait 10 minutes for her to finish up her game on her phone. The food was good. The burgers and fries are delicious! A thousand island-like special sauce is included on the side, and adds great flavor. The fries are crispy. The burgers are made to order, large and hot. The lettuce, tomato, pickle relish and onion add a lot and are generous portions. The interior is more functional and very simple. It could use an update, but this is more of a to-go place. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside! I think these are my favorite fries! The burger was a monster and it had all fresh ingredients on it! My daughter got the teriyaki chicken and she must have liked her dinner too because it was all gone after we got home! They have a huge variety of menu items that hubby and I will have to try! First visit, thus the four stars. I had heard numerous comments about Monster Burger and seeing as how we live around the corner, thought we'd give 'em a try. I asked another patron who was ordering about how the French fries were and he said they were really good. Kind of a light flour coating and deep fried. Great taste he stated. I ordered the Avocado Burger w/fries for my wife and I ordered the Fish 'n Chips. I inquired as to what kind of fish is used and was told "cod". Great, because I don't care for or eat Tilapia. It's a 'rubbish-fish' found in the most polluted waters. Easy to farm so all over Asia Tilapia is raised in abundance. Anyway, the Fish 'n Chips were great tasting and my wife said her Avocado Burger was great, and would order again. There's a selection of other foods to numerous to mention.
