The golf course closed in 2014, but continued to allow certain members access to the club. The property was sold in 2015. A year later the facility reopened as a lodging and event center. Today, it has transformed into a glamping ground. We haven't stayed there, but have referred this place to a number of friends. (3 of 5) The once beautiful greens are no longer welcoming. (3 of 5) Now, you may spot large scale sculptures dotted here-and-there - some interesting, others an eye-sore. (3 of 5) The most interesting sculpture we saw was this huge pendulum with three large rocks. It's amazing how they balanced the large rocks on the steel rods. (5 of 5) As we walked along the golf cart trail, we noticed several hammocks sway in the light breeze. (4 of 5) The swimming pool is opened to renters of the cabins. (3 of 5) The large clubhouse parking lot has an impressive solar system. (5 of 5) History: This land has a long and rich history. Thousands of years ago it was home to the Miwok Native Americans who spent their summers in Yosemite Valley (which they called Ahwahnee) and their winters on this property, building two large villages here. In the 1860's, William Crooks built a cattle ranch here. His crews constructed three large ponds and a sophisticated diversion system to fill those ponds so that his cattle would have enough water to make it through the arid California summers. Cute and peaceful cabins super close to Yosemite! This is the perfect place for a relaxing stay after a long hike or right before you visit the park. The staff is super accommodating, helpful, and friendly. All of the cabins are very private and have everything that you need for a weekend getaway! I upgraded to a family cabin for $10 extra the day of my stay, and it was so nice and definitely worth the extra money compared to the micro cabin! The kitchenette was well stocked and had everything we could possibly ever need. The beds were super comfy and everything was spotlessly clean. We loved our stay at one of Sierra Meadows' Cabins! We went as a group of 4 with our 2 dogs to explore Yosemite National Park back in April 2023. The check-in process was super easy and the cabins was clean and cozy. The highlight of our stay here was getting to exploring the 140 acre former golf course across the road. Our stay included free bike rentals which we used to ride around the golf course with our 2 dogs off-leash. My dogs had the time of their lives running around with us. Riding mid-morning on a Sunday, we had the whole course to ourselves and it was awesome. read more

Wonderful place to stay. The cabins are clean and modern. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. They have a very nice pool. Fishing in the pond (great for kids, guaranteed to get a bite!) Borrow bikes, and games and sports equipment. They have hiking/biking trails. Lots of wildlife, quail, squirrels, bunnies, bobcats, lizards; we even heard coyotes one night. It's a beautiful quiet place to stay. Great for families. The only annoying thing is that the acorn woodpeckers will wake you up in the morning! Booked a microcabin through Airbnb after reading many rave reviews and we were not disappointed. Sierra Meadows is definitely for unashamed glampers, of which I am one. Be aware that the campsite is still about 50 miles (about 1.5 hrs) to the actual Yosemite Valley, so plan accordingly if you're here to hike the trails. The road to the campsite is dark and very windy, so use caution if you arrive at night. The microcabins are perfect for 1-2 people, complete with a comfy bed, climate control (AC, baseboard heater, and fan), mini-fridge, electric kettle, drip coffee kit, and electrical outlets. Each microcabin has its own porch with two seats, which were perfect for stargazing and drinking hot cocoa (not included). Wi-Fi is variable depending on where you are in the campsite but definitely accessible if you need to download maps or check your Insta. There are a few Tesla chargers throughout the campsite, and several more universal EV chargers located a 5 min walk away at their lodge (which we used and can confirm their functionality). Bathrooms are dorm style with a row of sinks, three toilets, and three shower stalls each in men's and women's. Showers had ample hot water and great water pressure. Loved the added touch of the shower caddies, bathrobes, and shower slippers. Communication with Sierra Meadows was swift and friendly, and I wish we took more advantage of all the amenities present. We came during off season but most cabins were still booked. There's a very thorough digital guest guide, covering everything from how to check out games to recommendations for local dining. While there is no kitchenette in the microcabins, electric grills can be rented from the camp store. If you feel like eating fresh, Oakhurst is nearby and has fully stocked grocery stores and some restaurants just a 10-15 min drive away. read more

My boyfriend and I stayed here the first time we went to the Yosemite, and it was so cute!! Found it in AirBnb, they were communicative. It was kind of far from the Yosemite, but all the amenities were good. It seems very family friendly and I like that it is paved. The tiny house was spacious and fun. A good experience if tiny houses are of interest to you. However, would recommend other alternative lodging if you want to be closer to the valley instead because this was like 1hr away. My wife and I booked the deluxe cabin, it has all you need (kitchen wares, utensils, pots, plates cups etc) they feel so cozy inside, it appears brand new build and still smells like freshly varnished woods. We brought our own screen tent and set it up under the outdoor picnic table which fits perfect, we brought our own camping gas stove so made some delicious kbbq for dinner. Staff are all nice and welcoming, we took the bike (free) and ride them up to the pool and spa where we were greeted by some of the friendliest ranch caretakers and showed us around. Minor concerns is that this ranch is far from Yosemite (about 50+ miles away from Glacier point and longer if you are heading down the valley) and also the front door needs some WD40 as they make squeaking sound when opening and closing like the horror movies LOL! Overall I would book them again in a heartbeat, If I have power to move this ranch closer to the park, it would be heavenly! :) I think the management treats the staff correctly and that radiates to their attitude and work ethic. :) read more

Prices were very reasonable, got a micro cabin it's tight and cozy, for 2 people and a small dog it was just perfect. Place has a pool, ev chargers , a small yet well equipped store. This land used to be a golf course so if you like bike riding either bring your own or borrow one from the store! If you're looking for a place to stay after a long day at Yosemite and still want to experience the wilderness, Sierra Meadows Cabins is the way to go. I stayed at this location for just one night and everything was just immaculate. It's about 1.5 hours away from Yosemite. Location and surroundings: There is a lot of restaurant and local grocery stores (about 11 minutes away) so you're not fully away from "civilization." The place is super quiet, and everyone seems very respective of each other's cabins. There is a campus store that sells a lot of convenience items like snacks, over-the-counter medicine, women toiletries, and more.. which is extremely helpful if you forget to pack something or are craving some munchies. We didn't try the bikes and pool, but it's awesome they offer that here! 6 people Cabin itself: Seriously blew me away. They really try to make you feel comfortable, and staying in a cabin not that scary. The cabin was super clean and well stocked (tons of towels, shampoo, soap, conditioner, and kitchen pantry items). Even though the cabin is less than 400 sqft, it feels pretty spacious. Each room has its own heat and cooling system which is extremely helpful for parties that have different preferences. There are a ton of outlets too! I love how thoughtful they are to have a Bluetooth speaker in the main area. Hospitality: Check in was super simple and easy. It's all done via email and from there, they email your cabin code the day of your stay. You can customize your cabin door code after the initial code if you're worried about people coming in. Also, they text you to prep you for your stay which I thought was very thoughtful. We briefly interacted with the campus store cashier, and she was very kind! In addition, as you drive to the cabins, they put out signs to point you to the right direction. Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend this location and I would DEFINITELY advocate to my friends and the Yelp community to stay here! read more

Staff was horrible, before arriving my nephew asked if we can gather the family together there since we rented out half or more than half of the establishment, and the staff said yes without a problem. Once they saw us setting up they back tracked by saying that we were no longer allowed to do so that if we wanted we could gather in front of the cabins. We complied and all of sudden started getting harassed by staff saying that we kept on breaking all the rules, rules that they themselves weren't clear about. At one point the manager starts speeding his little cart by where we were at almost running over children. That same manager kept coming driving by antagonizing family members. Just stayed here last weekend and we had a really comfortable stay. Staff are very friendly and responsive. The family cabin was really clean, beds are comfy, and the kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans, utensils and plates. AC and wifi worked well. Very peaceful place even though the cabins are pretty close to each other. Free bikes to use around the property. We didn't get to use the pool but it looked really nice. Unfortunately the experience at this location was marred by the staff and the manner in which they repeatedly came after our group, who were also staying at the site. Staff repeatedly accused us of breaking all the rules, but were not able to articulate them when asked for specifics. Continued to change the baseline when our group complied with requests. And worse of all continually harassed our group while families lounged outside their cabin. I approached a staff member to check-in with him about his wreckless golf cart driving (almost running over our kids), he looked the other way and sped right by me. We had such an incredible time at Sierra Meadows. A mere 30-minutes from an entrance to Yosemite and 10-minutes to town, the property is a gem. Our family rented out cabins to participate in a wedding and despite being told we would be able to gather all guests in one space, staff approached us several times throughout the day antagonizing us. The staff was rude and unwelcoming. Harassed multiple family members, threatening to call law enforcement while hurling baseless claims at our family. We just stayed at Sierra Meadows & was amazed at how nice it is. The cabin we stayed in was a one bedroom. The kitchen is so updated & modern. They provide coffee, you can either grind it or make with pre ground coffee. They supply the cream for it in the refrigerator. They sure have an eye for detail. We had a really nice porch if you like to porch sit! The walking trails are beautiful & you can take your dogs off leash.. Oh, did I mention they do not charge you for your pets. Sierra Meadows is a modestly sized campground comprised of both large family cabins and micro cabins. Although we didn't interact with any staff during our time here, we really felt welcome and almost like family. Each unit has an extensive welcome binder that's written in a very friendly way with lots of recommendations. You can call or text them 24 hours a day if you need something such as a trash pickup or clean towels, but check-in is completely digital via keypad. They don't come into your cabin during your stay, nor into the bathrooms if you have a micro cabin that uses the external bathrooms. This is all due to COVID of course, so it's nice to know that you can come here and not have to come into direct contact with anyone if you prefer. The family cabins have their own bathrooms and the 10 micro cabins share the men's and women's restrooms. During COVID they are only booking 2 micro cabins at a time so that each can have their own restroom. It was really nice that we got an entire large restroom with nice showers to ourselves! From our micro cabin to the bathroom everything was clean, modern, and pretty much brand new. The micro cabin had everything you could possibly want, and it didn't feel crowded at all. We had chairs out front, a mini fridge, coffee, wifi, outlets, robes, a shower caddy with a towel and sandals, a ceiling fan as well as AC and heat which you could leave on all day since they have their own solar power. The large bed was very comfortable and so cozy that we often slept in much later than planned. The only negative here is that you need to bring your bug spray because in the evening when we tried to enjoy our dinner at the picnic tables we got eaten alive. The grounds here are very nice, built on an old golf course. Their pool is a one minute drive up the hill at the clubhouse, or you can borrow one of their bikes (for free) to get there or anywhere else around the property and surrounding trails. The pool was large, clean, and I appreciated the shade structure above it. They are dog friendly and of course very family friendly too. Would you believe that you get all of this for far less than any hotel room in the area? The downside is that it's about a 30 minute drive to the south entrance of Yosemite, and then another hour to the Yosemite Valley where most of the sites and hikes are. Since we went during COVID we didn't have to wait to get into the park but Sierra Meadows does note that during the typical busy season you should leave by 6am in order to get into the park without a long wait. I would love to stay here again and take advantage of the hikes and swimming holes in the area. I don't know that I would stay here if I was planning to go into Yosemite for 4 days like I did this trip because it was a lot of driving. But we loved it here! read more

We had this trip planned for June before the pandemic crisis picked up, and we were incredibly pleased with how Sierra Meadows adapted to the situation to keep everyone safe. We stayed in a micro cabin that typically shares a bathroom, but they only booked two micro cabins at a time so each cabin could have either the men's or women's restroom. The restrooms are completely clean, with showers and dishwashing materials if you need them. The cabins are perfect for what we needed! Comfy bed, dog-friendly, mini-fridge included. We brought our own, but they even offer complimentary bikes to explore the old golf course across the street. The golf course is home to many different art pieces (apparently from Burning Man), so they're fun to discover! I can't say enough about this place. Even though Yellowstone was still closed when we went (which was the initial purpose of our trip), we enjoyed ourselves immensely and would happily return. I know our experience was unique considering the pandemic, but it says a lot about how much Sierra Meadows cares about the wellbeing of those staying with them. 10/10 read more

Manager nearly ran over my 4 year older daughter with his golf cart. Extremely upsetting!!!!

Problems started right when we got there, paid the 20 dollar fee for early check in at 2:00pm and didn't get the code for the room till more than half an hour later even though I went in the office twice asking. "Manager" was extremely rude and uncooperative. He was going over speed limit in golf cart almost running over my 4 year old niece. Also was not communicative and accusing us for "breaking the rules" when he could simply ask or inform us instead of going off and screaming while passing on the golf cart not even stopping or acknowledging us. When we texted for trash pickup he had a lot of attitude. Overall the worst experience I've ever had, never going back there. Do not recommend this place at all! read more

Sierra Meadows Cabins absolutely blew us away. While planning a trip to Yosemite, I let my friend do the house-hunting and when he sent me this spot, I couldn't believe my eyes; we could get a brand spankin' new cabin - with two bedrooms and bathrooms - for less than half the price of a regular tiny hotel room. How in the world....?!?! But I wasn't questioning it! I was stunned and thrilled! Upon arrival, the cabins were just as magnificent as pictured. They truly are brand new and well-appointed. They're spacious, modern, clean, and even include things like USB outlets for the tech geek in us. (Because....bay area 2019, y'all.) They're a very reasonable distance from Yosemite (another ~30 minutes of driving, depending on weather conditions) and super cozy. Water ran hot without an issue or painstaking wait, and the beds were very comfortable. Best of all, they're dog-friendly!! Woohoo :D I've since recommended Sierra Meadows Cabins to over a dozen friends and will definitely stay here next time I go to the park. we stayed there june 29-july 1. it feels like it's in the middle of nowhere, but it's only 3 miles from Oakhusrt. This isolation gave it a more alluring vibe in my opinion. like you're far from civilization but not too far for the comforts of modernity . The whole place has a very cozy athmosphere. The staff is friendly and they have someone there at night in case of emergency . they are very easy to contact and communicate with even during the booking process and when we were actually there.. we got the Tiny Cabin. but it's so cozy. me and my wife plus our kids 14 and 10 fit well . all the usual abilities are present coffee maker, coffee beans, shampoo, conditioners body wash. they even allowed us to bring a small stove to cook some food . One of the best vacation lodgings I've ever stayed in my life. Really! The campground is sort of isolated from the rest of human civilization, so it was very quiet and uncontaminated by light pollution. We went at a time when Yosemite Valley was closed to visitors due to fire, so there were not many people on the campground at all. Our cabin was extremely clean and welcoming. Although the exterior looked small, the inside was very homely and seemed big and roomy. We stayed in cabin #22, which came with a fridge, a coffee machine, a wine bottle opener, two chairs on the patio, and a log table between the two chairs. The bed was very comfortable in addition to the easily adjustable air conditioning. The common bathroom was also very spotlessly clean. One of the biggest pluses of staying in this place is the opportunity to stargaze at night. There was barely any light around the area (except some string lights and patio lights around the cabins), so we were able to see so many objects in the night sky, ranging from the dusty Milky Way to Venus to a hugely magnified Big Dipper. A definite recommend from me if you are visiting the Yosemite area. read more

We stayed in cabin #16, which has two bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and a kichenette. Honestly, we stayed here because of the price: $144 including tax. That was cheaper than getting 2 hotel rooms in the same area. So why 5 stars beyond the price? 1. Spotlessly clean when we arrived. 2. Comfortable beds. 3. Efficient heaters. The place was cold when we arrived, but it quickly warmed up (and we didn't even put the heater on high). We ended up turning off the heaters a couple hours after we arrived, and didn't need to turn them back on until the next morning. 4. Good shower. 5. Plenty of dishes and kitchen utensils to use. Also plenty of bath towels. Lastly, the place is well-marked. I was a little worried that it would be difficult to find due to the info posted on their website, but it wasn't a challenge at all. I should also note that t-mobile does not have any reception there (but you do get a strong signal in nearby Oakhurst). Overall, the four of us (two couples) were quite happy with the cabin. Definitely recommend if you're in the Yosemite area. read more

We rented a cabin for four (two teenagers in the group) for our Yosemite trip. Clean cabin, quiet with everything you need. Cabin can get a little warm when the outside temperature is above 90, especially in the bedrooms, but there is air-conditioning. Plenty of space to explore around the cabin and the bikes for guest's use are well maintained. Oakhurst with shops are just 6 mins away. Everything is great about the cabin.
