Couldn't have been happier with my experience with SKRE gear. Our weather fluctuated from near freezing temps in the morning to mid 80's in the afternoon, and their layering system worked perfectly. Despite the biting wind and driving rain of the early morning rides in the side by side, the Ptarmigan 850 kept me warm and dry. Daily hikes through dense manzanita, scrub brush, and even the occasional snag going over barbed wire, were no match for the toughness of the Hardscrabble pants and jacket. Now, several weeks after my hunt, I find myself going back to the hardscrabble pants for trips to the range, hiking the high Sierra Mountains, or even fishing the Feather River. Light weight, comfortable, durable, the whole SKRE experience really exceeded my expectations, including the absolutely incredible customer service I received from Heather when there was a slight issue with ordering. She was professional, helpful, and insured I had the gear I needed for my hunt despite some hurdles. I ordered the Ptarmigan 850 Ultra down jacket which was on back order for an up coming elk hunt. After a month, I emailed Skre's customer service to inquire if the jacket would be shipped prior to my hunt date, which was approaching quickly. I was contacted by Nate with customer services the next day and informed the jacket was still on back order and he was not sure when the jacket would be in. Nate informed me, he could send me the same jacket but in a different camo pattern for free of charge and then when my original jacket came in he would ship it to me also. I have to admit I was shocked by this offer. Nate went on to say, Skre wanted to make sure I had my jacket I ordered for my up coming hunt, that was now in less than a week. After a couple days, I received the first jacket for my hunt and 3 weeks later, I received my original jacket I ordered in the correct camo pattern. I have purchased several hunting items and clothes from other vendors and NEVER have I received customer service like this before. Skre has the best customer service hands down!!!!!!! read more

Fist off, I love the Summit pattern! It's versatile across almost any terrain I hunt and breaks up your outline better than most patters. The HardScrabble materials are soft, stretch well and are quiet BUT, are easily snagged and frayed by the hostile plants and rocks I hunt in. Some reinforced knees/seat would make them perfect. The Nebo rain gear is solid! Lightweight and leakproof, the pants and jacket pack down nicely. The jacket is always in my pack as it makes a great wind breaker too! Now, the hooded Ptarmigan jacket, lets add pit zips and it would be perfect. Really it is perfect. Fit is right on, with enough sleeve length you can raise your arms and not feel them creep up your arms or raise the body up. Merino and synthetic base layers! My only real complaint is sizing on base layers. I fall right between some sizes. The merino fit is just a bit different than the synthetics. Don't worry though! Skre has a great wrong size warranty. This is currently my 4th year wearing SKRE gear and I have been nothing but pleased with the performance. Dang! This is premium @#$%! As a seasoned bowhunter who's tried tons of different camo -- this stuff gets the nod --it's totally the bomb. Comfortable. Warm. Awesome pricing (read: half the price of another gear company that starts with an "S"). Free size/fit exchanges. Cool zippered vents on jackets and pants that make a huge difference for long walks in. And the pattern (Summit) passes the stare-down test. We've all been there, right? Excellent company! The gear is top notch. I was hesitant at first after owning clothing gear from the top brands in the game. After my first hard week with skre I will say that my expectations were blown away. The merino wool is the best and most comfortable I have used yet. I ordered the Hardscrabble pants a size too small, and customer service was awesome. Got my new pair & they fit good. The material is durable & breathable. Zippers are non-snag and easy to manipulate with one hand. Love the venting zippers on the side to let heat escape. Last but not least & really like the digital camp pattern. Love the fit and the customer service was excellent. Took my gear out under 40 deg. Had the merino top and bottoms base with scramble pants, vest and scramble jacket. When not moving was a little chilly. Will run a thicker base for warmth in the colder weather. No fault of the gear, stuff i chose probably not designed for cold 30s or under. read more
