I am not a newbie to head spas. I've had multiple services at other places to have a basic…read moreunderstanding and expectations. I expect deep relaxation, calming scents and music are nice but not mandatory, super soft and clean hair, and I do not expect a luscious silky blow-out on my curly/wavy hair; It's usually a quick/rough dry. I made an appointment a couple days ahead to do something nice in my last stretch of pregnancy. I wasn't expecting this to be a glamorous place; rather a nice, practical spa with good service based on the reviews. And I would say the general vibe matches that description. A very nice woman greeted me, checked me in and took me into one of the rooms with two beds. The beds are not adjustable, and I can't lay on my back (at 37 weeks pregnant). Most places would try to accommodate with pillows, but I don't think the woman understood what I was getting it. She wasn't fluent in english (which is fine), but I would expect a spa to know the basics when catering to pregnant women. She was laying thin blankets down which made no difference, and in the end she helped me adjust my lower body with pillows so I was partially on my side/ twisted with a pillow under next to my hip with flat upper back. I re-positioned multiple times through out my appointment to be somewhat comfortable. They had my eyes covered with a folded towel, so I couldn't see, but I think the door to the room was open. I could hear other patrons outside and general chatter. I would have preferred a closed door service, especially since I was a little exposed. (Unlike some of the reviews here, I was not given a shirt or robe. I slipped my bra straps off and kept my shirt on my chest + their light blanket, which btw had a musty smell). The little shoulder and head massage was okay. It felt nice, and basic. The hair wash was also quite typical... it felt more like a salon wash than a therapeutic/relaxing treatment, even though it was quite long. She could have been gentler. I think they shampooed my hair twice, and did a quick conditioner rinse. I feel like the conditioner was put right on my scalp and not really dispersed properly to the ends and quickly rinsed off. Then the final rinse involved the curved shower head on my scalp directly in one position for a few minutes, which felt like a torture. I moved my head around a lot during this time to get some relief and movement. Lastly she tried drying my hair while I was still laying down, with no product and I had to stop her. My hair on top felt super frizzy and dried out, while very wet underneath. I also don't think they have water filters since my hair felt rough, a bit sticky, and smelled a bit musty. I had to rinse my hair at home and condition the ends. Final outcome - Yes, my hair felt very clean. However there were too many misses that I cannot recommend this place.

Instead, Debbie was rude and ultimately stopped responding altogether. I understand having policies, but the lack of empathy, professionalism, and basic communication- especially for such an important life event, was extremely disappointing. In response to your message: Thank you for your response, but I have to respectfully disagree with how this situation was handled. While I understand that my husband made the booking in good faith, this was clearly a misunderstanding, and the service itself was never meaningfully performed. The makeup artist arrived, assessed that no service was needed, and left within minutes. Charging the full amount under these circumstances feels unreasonable and, frankly, inappropriate. As a healthcare provider, I regularly prioritize patient experience and fairness. If a service is not rendered, or is stopped almost immediately due to a misunderstanding, I would never feel comfortable charging in full without offering some form of resolution- whether that be a credit or partial refund. That is simply good practice and builds trust. While I understand you have policies in place, there should also be room for reasonable discretion, especially when the outcome clearly does not align with the service charged. In this case, it feels less like a matter of policy and more like a lack of flexibility and consideration. Given the circumstances, I still believe a credit or partial refund would be the fair and appropriate resolution.
