We are full time RV'rs, we travel the US in a Class A motor home. We make every effort to speak to the people about which RV to own and why. We needed some warranty work done on our unit and scheduled the work ahead of us, as we traveled. Sky River RV in Paso Robles, Ca was the dealer we chose as they were right on our path of travel. Smart choice for us and here is why,,,, Jana, and her service team are true exception to the normal customer service. We had multiple phone contacts as we got closer to the time of service and each time it was like talking to an old friend. Each member of the team made us feel welcome, made us feel like we belonged there, and completed the work on time as proposed. The work done was actually done "right" the first time. If you have an opportunity to need service from a dealer that actually does what they say, practices what they preach, and completes their work correctly try these folks. Visited Sky River to browse, didn't see what we wanted, but told a sales person named John what we were thinking about. 5th wheel or motor home. A week or so later he called with something for us. It was great, we test drove it, they replaced some things, worked on the price, and we bought it. The whole experience was low key and pleasant. No pushy stuff. Have had it in for service to get some minor things checked and fixed. Also a pleasant experience, from scheduling through talking with the mechanics. Jana, Bobby, Billy, Stan. Bobby stayed late one night to finish some work & insure everything was complete. I trust them to do future work, and would recommend them to friends. read more

This is actually for their Pismo Beach Sky River RV. We bought a new Thor Challenger in May and, like most RVs I think, had a few problems. I was a little concerned that since "we bought it" we might get a little less priority on getting the fixes. The problems were small - a water leak, a propane indication problem and a question on how to work a remote control for the fire place and the shower stall wasn't seated firmly against the wall. They were very accommodating for the appointment time. While they were looking at the propane gauge problem they noticed our propane was actually low. The tech was tenacious and found a small leak in the pressure regulator. THEY REPLACED IT ON THE SPOT. No waiting and we didn't have to make a return trip and it appears to be a better regulator than the factory unit. After our first trip we noticed that the fresh water tank drained when we drove. On the way into the shop to get the shower stall re-glued with my wife following me she noticed that water was leaking from the rig. So while it was in for a few days they contacted Thor and found a fix for the problem. When we got home from that fix the water pump developed a leak. We were a few days from going on a long trip in the RV and I only had one day that I could drive it in. They had a full day of work, but when I explained my time jam they said come on it. One of the service managers did the work personally. He checked the pump and got a new one that appears to be better than the one that came with the rig. I was out in a couple hours - problem fixed. In three times to the Pismo Beach shop we were always treated with great respect and found the technicians to be very courteous, knowledgeable and competent. All in all I feel like we received better treatment than I would expect from "really great" service. read more

After vigorously searching for an RV that best suited our needs, we narrowed it down to a certain model then started our search for the best price. We contacted Mark, went over the options and made the drive from L.A. They did most of the paperwork ahead of time so that when we got there the transaction was seamless and easy.No double talk and no pressure. Mark and Angel were honest, professional and courteous, unlike the vultures that surround you at other dealerships. Totally worth the drive and we'd definitely return. Thumbs up! read more

My husband & I bought our first Class C motorhome from Sky River in March 2018. It was a used 2015 RV. We were offered the extended warranty at an additional cost and decide against it. Less than 800 miles later we had to have the transmission rebuilt at a cost of $4,300+ while on a road trip through Utah. We were extremely disappointed that this happened so soon after we purchased the RV but we also knew that we had turned down the purchase of the extended warranty. On 6/9/2018, I sent our sales team member, Eric, an email explaining our disappointed with having to have the transmission rebuilt so soon after purchasing the RV. I was hoping for some type of response like "So sorry this happened" or "You opted against the extended warranty but I'd be happy to give you a $50- $100 gift card from our store". Instead I got NO RESPONSE. I think I was even more disappointed that I was completely ignored by Eric. Unfortunately I do not recommend Sky River RV Sales in Paso Robles because of this. I do have one positive comment. We were so impressed with Carl (from Germany). He helped us decide what we needed, showed us used RVs in our price range, took us on test drives, explained everything to us, and was just a personable guy! read more

Don't take your RV here and definitely don't purchase your Rv here! The service is the worst I've ever experienced. Yes, they are nice when you are ready to purchase but once you drop off your RV they want your credit card before assessing the RV, they will schedule an appointment and keep it for a week or more (our RV is 6 months old) and they will only look at 3 different issue with each appointment. Furthermore, they insisted we take it to the Mercedes dealer for the battery, which was a waste of time. We bought ours in Thousand Oaks but Sky River is an authorized Navion dealer so next step is the BBB and the Mercedes corporation for a complaint. read more

I never write reviews but this time felt I needed to. I took my travel trailer in for a service before the camping season began. I called in February and got an appointment the beginning of May. My trailer had a rear light that was not working and needed to be changed out. There were several other minor repair issues. I had also asked them to re-set some interior lights because the push button switches had been offset. After 6 weeks of it being at Sky River, I called for an update on the job being completed. I was told the light had not been fixed and if they ordered it from the manufacturer it would take 6 more weeks. I had already canceled one trip due to the work not being completed. Finally around the beginning of July, I just picked the trailer up. They charged me over $1,000.00 for repair and service. I went on line and ordered the light, had it in a week and repaired it myself. Two days ago, I went inside the trailer and found the lenses of all the lights I had asked them to re-set had fallen off. When I went to replace them I found 3 holes that had been drilled into the bottom of an overhead cabinet. These holes were new and never shown to me when I pick up the trailer. I could go on about their customer service and the many mistruths told to me.......Needless to say, I am very angry. I will never trust Sky River to do work for me again and strongly suggest people think twice before taking their equipment to them. read more

Interesting, you act as though you don't believe me. Purchased a 22' Bambi Sport early last December. And yes, we did have four salespeople. I believe you had the trailer listed and my husband made arrangements to see you, but you were tied up. Two that I can remember are the young girl that had just been back to the factory as well as the guy who was related to Johnny Weismuller. And as far as the trade in you offered us $15,000 less than our final offer. The important thing is we have a fabulous new Airstream that we love. Wishing you the best. read more

When we went to pick up our new RV it was on a Saturday don't ever go there on Saturday ! There are no service people available! The battery was dead in the RV so we could not open the slides or operate the main control panel because some service person left the battery on and it burnt a cell . No one could get us a new battery cause there was no personnel there! So we had to take it 70 miles home and put a battery charger on it had to wait till it charged enough so we could operate the front jacks and unhook it then to start the generator to operate everything else! To say the least we were upset! So we called nick who we purchased it from he got on the phone to Jana at the shop in Paso who never returned our call my husband had to call them to get a new battery!! They all say they are busy with customers! Who are we??? We just bought a new RV are we not customers???? We have concluded there is NO customer service at the Paso Robles location! They told us they were going to wash the coach and it was extremely dirty!! These people short cut everything and lie to the customers! I would never go to the Paso Robles location unless you want the runaround . So sad they really aren't interested in service after the sale only that you buy something and leave that's how we felt ! For the price you pay for an RV they should do anything to make you happy ! read more

I Tried to purchase an RV from Sky But they couldn't or didn't want to reach a reasonable agreement to my needs. I reached my goal with Barber RV in Valencia, CA. Being 3 hours away, they told me any warranty issues could be completed at my local Thor Dealer, Thus, being Sky River. However, when I called them on these issues, Sky said they were 3 months out for Warranty issues and only two issues would be addressed per appointment. Called Barber RV to complain and they said "we can take you in two weeks" Thor should look into this service and not list Sky as a preferred provider. Am now driving 3 hours to let Barber RV to address my warranty.Thank you Barber. read more

Would give less than one star if I could. People who work in the service department are plain slow and stupid. First time they didn't complete all the work they were supposed to and said nothing. Brought it back and took them two weeks to price a part that was not requested to be looked at or replaced. Said part was quoted at 5x cost of what I found on my own looking online. Been sitting there for weeks for something they said would take 3 hours and still have not looked at. A lot of this is pure lack of communication on their part going a week at a time between hearing from them only because I called them. Who knows if they would have ever called me. Basically this place is a nightmare to deal with. They grossly overcharge for parts and labor, bad labor at that. Unfortunately they are the only RV shop locally. I will be taking the trip to Ventura for a reputable shop the next time I need anything. read more

Purchased a 2015 Airstream Scheduled next available morning appointment with Sky River RV's Service Department, about 6 weeks out, to install their recommended Weight Distribution Hitch System. The next available appointment fell just prior to leaving for the Memorial Day weekend. Sky River RV assured us they would have plenty of time to order the necessary parts and would notify us if there was a parts problem. Two days prior to our 100 mile drive to Sky River RV thought it would be wise to confirm all was still set to go. They stated they would check and call before day's end, no call back. Next morning called again, said they would check and call back. About 3:00 PM, same day, received a phone message stating "not all parts were available, please call." Sky River RVs' advice to us was; Arrive later on day of our appointment in hopes that that the parts come in sometime in the afternoon, no guarantees. We chose NOT to take the 100 mile drive to just sit there pinning our pre-paid vacation, planned 6 months in advance, to the hope that the UPS guy makes it prior to the end of the day and with the right parts. What really got to us was how their Customer Service Manager REVERSED their problem into making it our problem with a "take it or leave it" attitude. Also noted Sky River RV currently retains a BBB (Better Business Bureau) rating of "D-" out of A+ to an F DO not recommend Sky River RV Service Department / a serious LACK of Customer Service. read more

Over priced in a word from propane which is cheaper a quarter mile south on same road at Suburban Propane but call ahead because than are closed more they they are open and for a simple generator oil change without an oil filter on an Onan 4000 , 2 quarters of 10/30 oil they charge a whopping 80$ when you can get it done on 2951 Riverside Ave at Dave Fottz Automotive right next to the Napa parts store for a mere 18$ plus tax , let you know how it turns out. read more

We had the following work done on our Terry 24 ft. trailer about 4 years ago, a new rubber roof, windows resealed, and a new awning......TERRIBLE JOB ON THE WINDOWS AND WHEN INSTALLING NEW AWNING WE HAD DAMAGE DONE TO OUR PRISTINE COATING ON AWNING BRACES,.(Some things we didn't really notice until later) We have not had a leak since the new rubber roof, so that seems to be ok. We had done the windows ourselves once, which was not a fun job, however, we did a better job than they did. Sealing material was all over outside frames (white against black etc.) and some was on a sheet inside and it never came out (good that I had used it to cover the bed or it would be on that instead. I wish I had Yelp all those years ago to review, but here I am now for those considering having major repairs done to an RV at Sky River. Hopefully they have improved as $5,000 didn't assure us of quality workmanship back then! I would have given just one star but the roof seems to be ok) read more

My husband and I went there just to get a look at 5th wheels and trailers. We are planning on buying and RV in the next few months and want to know what is out there and the prices. We had 4 people asking us if we needed help. I told the first guy we are just looking and we would come to him if we had any questions but five minutes later another one comes asking the same questions. Another five minutes it was a new guy. He stuck around for a bit and not even two minutes after he left a manager came around. I hate being a broken record so I was annoyed and wanted to hurry up and get out of there. Great customer service also comes with reading your customer and knowing when to back off and let them decide what they want. I will not be back. read more

We recently purchased a beautiful Airstream trailer at Sky River in Paso Robles (March 2014). My husband went to torque the lug minutes and the cover cracked. He brought the cracked cover into the part department; the response from the parts guy was, "what do you expect, it is just a trailer!". then he sent my husband on a wild goose chase to find lug nuts for our "just another trailer". He found lug nuts after going to four different locales. I called Eric at Sky River yesterday to report this lousy customer service. But there was no response from him or anyone from Sky River RV Paso Robles. How disappointing! I know many people in the central coast; I will be sure to share our disappointment over the lack of service from this dealer. read more

OMG WE ARE IN TOTAL SHOCK AND DISBELIEF!!! This place is HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE in customer service for a NewMar dealership! We have a problem with our coach entry steps, they are being held up with a ratchet strap! We stopped in here because they are a NEWMAR dealer on advice of the factory customer service person back in Indiana, we went in and were told no one is available to look at the steps and they couldn't possibly look at it until into OCTOBER, THIS IS THE THIRD WEEK OF AUGUST!!! Offered absolutely no help what so ever, this is the absolute worst treatment we've ever had from a dealer!!! We bought in Nebraska, have been into other dealerships in the Midwest for small issues and they all bent over backwards to help resolve issue. Even taking parts off new coaches on their lots to get us going quickly and not have to sit and wait for parts. Dealerships in Arizona have been equally as helpful! This place gets a MINUS 10 stars, and won't ever be recommended to our worst enemy, our treatment will be shared, we have many friends in motor homes out here in CA., Newmar owners as well as other brands! read more

Took my wife in to show her an example of a 2013 Thor class C I was going to purchase at another dealer in LA. They had the exact model I was going to drive to LA for, but in 2014 model year. The salesman and the GM matched the price of the other dealers 2013. Great sales staff & no pressure. Easy to work with. Glad we bought local. read more

I don't know about sales but as far as service, Sky River has been great. Did what they said they were going to do, for the price I was quoted in the time frame they said they'd do it in. I asked about a few things I was concerned about including the roof and they were honest. Didn't try to sell me anything and said I was good to go with those items. My husband saw a used motorhome advertized on RVTrader by Sky River RV. He calls them and they tell him that the motorhome has a sign on it that says "Do not show" "Do not Sell" and there were tools around it. After a few back and forth calls we were going to make the trip from Riverside, CA to look at it. We did put a $500 deposit on it with the first right of refusal and we were going to be up the next day. About an hour later we got a phone call from them saying they couldn't do that; that it was first come first serve. Much later that day we get a phone call from Sky River and were told that "someone" had come in and paid cash for the motorhome. Needless to say we were dissapointed. My question is...How could they sell it, if it had a sign on it to not sell or show? I think we had a scam going on. Buyer beware. read more

I have had very good luck with Sky River RV for the service side. Parts were reasonably priced. Parts were reasonably quick for shipping and delivery. I do most work myself and I've always gotten good honest answers from the service department. Would have bought my RV from them but found a different model and they didn't carry it. I basically purchased my 2010 Airstream over the phone as they had what we were looking for in stock; dealing with the Airstream sales person (In SLO). Everything was going well until I said "yes". After that I was handed over to the Paso Robles office and things just fell apart. I had questions...standard things...questions that I should not have had to ask. I would receive partial answers or no answers at all. So I went to pick up my trailer. I called to confirm my appointment (my truck needed to be worked on as well) and when asked if it was all set I was told "yeah, probably" I got this answer from 3 different people as I made 3 different calls to confirm. When driving 3 hours to get to Paso Robles "yeah, probably" isn't really a good answer. OK, we made our walk thru of the trailer. We were told a cleaning crew went thru the trailer and everything looked OK. We hooked up and left. After we got home we started going thru the trailer and what a frickin mess. They only cleaned the "obvious" surfaces. There were huge piles of debris under things, mattress with dead bugs under the cover. Obviously this trailer had been stored for quite a while and all they did was walk thru with a leaf blower. We also found issues with the trailer that would have been caught if they had done a mechanical walkthru (as they should have done). I love the trailer but the experience of buying it was painful and unnecessarily difficult . They get 2 stars (instead of one) due to the SLO sales interface. read more

Horrible customer service. When I tried to let management know they need to work on their customer service I was told that employee is never rude and that it must have been me. When I tried to explain it further was told to "fu$& off". Completely unacceptable. When I wrote a Facebook review they responded saying they were only rude because I was rude first. We found the trailer we were looking for and made a deal over the phone. the deal included a $500 credit for parts or service. But when we picked the trailer up, they gave us the excuse that the price we got was so good that it didn't come with the $500 credit, even though two of the sales people told me how great the deal was and bonus a $500 credit. Also the online ad had features that the trailer didn't have. We bought it last year and have been going back and fourth with them since. Very poor customer service, but they all have their talking points in line. They probably have a script they use. From the owner to the sales staff. They will loose future sales from us and our friends over maybe a net $250-$300 cost. Very sad. read more

We found a used diesel pusher at Sky River in Pismo Beach. Our Salesman Sean was really nice. We put 1K deposit down. They could finance and take our coach as a trade in but not at the payments we agreed upon up front. So we cancelled the deal and now, 2 weeks later, we are still waiting to get our deposit back. Our Salamanca said he approve the return of our deposit and he would call us back. They never once called us back all through the deal. We always have to call them and we are still waiting. read more

So my wife and I decided we wanted to upgrade to a newer travel trailer. We called Sky River in Atascadero and spoke to Adam. We explained our situation and were worried about financing (we normally pay cash for everything) Adam took our info and texted me back saying they would be able to finance us. With this information we decided to sell our current trailer and went to the Paso lot to meet Adam and see our new trailer! After we got there and spent about a hour with Adam he informed us that he had been wrong and they wouldn't be able to finance us.....so now we're at the beginning of summer with trips planned and no trailer thanks to Adam and Sky River for lying to us! Luckily we were able to get to Pacific Coast RV in Atascadero and were able to find something there that will be suitable for us. Unfortunately, it won't be as nice as our old one and we will have payments for a little bit. read more

The WORST experience ever! We spent lots of time talking to Max who bragged about all of his experience with different dealerships and every brand of motor home. Lots of talking, lots of bravado. He gave us a "firm" price on our trade in RV (sight unseen) and we should have been suspicious then. We wanted to trade in our very nice motor home for a Palazzo. He gave us a firm price. He urged us to apply for financing with Sky River (who would broker it out) and we agreed. (We were going to put 70% down in cash and have very acceptable credit scores). We supplied ALL of the paper work necessary (I was a mortgage broker for 35 years so I know what is needed). Max simply forwarded all of my paperwork (most, he later admitted was never opened nor forwarded) to about 20 lenders/credit unions - many of which we later learned we were ineligible to join which means unnecessary credit inquiries on our credit history which means lowered scores...thanks alot Max). We were referred to "Kimmy" for our credit application and were approved for financing and Max urged us come "come on down and pick up your new motor home!" We emptied our trade-in motor home and arranged for overnight NON REFUNDABLE reservations at a nearby RV park. Before getting on the road we called AND emailed Max one last time. We specifically asked, "do you have everything you need?" He answered, "YES! we are all clear" so we hit the road. Three hours into our road trip to Southern California, we got that fateful moment....it was Kimmy calling...... "we just need a few more things from you...." Of course none of these things were available to us NOW, since we were on the road! We were so angry and disgusted with both Max and Kimmy (and we googled them later and formed an opinion....do it yourself) that we need to post this. We are now certain that had we shown up to purchase the motor home we would have had a much lower trade in price than Max promised and the unit we wanted to buy was probably not exactly as advertised. Don't bother dealing with these people. Now I know what the phrase "used car salesman" exists.... Run, don't walk.... AWAY! read more

what a horrible place. first, we went there to buy an rv. we were told that we were not allowed to look through the motorhomes without someone with us at all times. what are we going to do. steal a pillow? we left without buying. we then bought somewhere else, and had to have some warranty work done. we took it here. while it was there, they broke something on the rv. they told us it was fixed. once we tried to use the rv, we discovered that it wasnt fixed and took it back to them. they called us liars that they first, never broke it, and then never fixed it. very abusive and Jana, the service girl is just horrible. Paso Robles store was the worse RV buying experience ever. I would not recommend this dealer to anyone. Told me all the hoses, water and sewer were included and they were not, told me they could deliver it their closer dealership then said they couldn't, so I pushed them and then they said they could deliver for $200. They finally agreed to deliver after talking to the General Manager. Had to have all the sales forms redone as they did not include my wife on them. Promised a low interest rate and tried to switch to a higher rate with a lame excuse. Went to pick up the trailer after driving 2 hours and had to wait another hour while they tried to fix a problem. They could not fix the problem and was told they needed to order a part. No call back on status. Had to keep following up with them for weeks. In conclusion Sales was terrible, Finance was terrible, Service was terrible. If I could give them zero stars I would read more

I took my travel trailer to Sky River RV in Paso Robles and left it with the service department to a get an estimate on a floor repair. Three months later I contacted Sky River after not hearing from the service department. I was told by the lady who answered the phone that the gentleman who repaired floors was out of state and would not be back for 2-3 months. I questioned her on why I was not advised of this months ago as my trailer was just sitting on the lot. She became rude in her tone and told me to come pick my trailer up without further explanation. I asked to talk to her manager and she told me she did not have one, and if she did have a manager, that he would also tell me to come pick my trailer up. A short time later during my conversation, she tells me that her manager did not want to do the repair to begin with. I then questioned her on why she had just told me she didn't have a manager, and she changed her story saying he was out of town and unavailable, but she would leave him a message to return my call. I picked my trailer up a few days later and again the lady was rude in her tone and by this time I still had not heard from the manager. I stopped by the front office on my way out and spoke with the sales manager. The sales manager stated he did not know why I had not received a phone call back and apologized, assuring me that I would receive a call. Here we are three months later and I am still waiting for that phone call back. I will never do business there again, which is sad because I am local and would rather keep my tax dollars right here. Sky (LIE) River has the most indignant customer service I have yet to experience. We reserved an RV well in advance. They took our deposit which we gave up in good faith with their Guarantee we would get the RV. Week prior they too the entire fee up front, still no clue as to what was about to transpire. The DAY we went to pick up the RV they said "Sorry its not road worthy" without hesitation. The OWNER came by and said with a shrug, "It happens, just never happened to me" and simply walked away. Not one call, even on the day we were to leave on the trip with 6 other friends. Not a single effort to be courteous or provide service. Only after we told them we flat were NOT leaving until we got an RV, they gave us this run down, dirty shadow of what we had reserved. Sky River RV is a bunch of liars that didnt give a hoot if we got what was promised or not. They should not even be allowed to run a business in San Luis Obispo County or anywhere else. Worst Service and attitudes I have ever experienced. read more
