I experienced a stall while driving home in rush-hour traffic on 6/19/17. I managed to safely get the car over to the right shoulder before losing all power and reached out to AAA for assistance. AAA is contracted with this company for the tow service. The initial service was good. It was a warm day and the driver had me wait in the air-conditioned cab while he worked to get my vehicle onto the flatbed. He even dropped me off at home (on the way to the dealership where my car was to be delivered). This is where the nightmare started. I got a call from the driver alerting me to the fact that my car was damaged on delivery when it rolled uncontrolled off the ramp into the dealership gate (the car was delivered after closing). I was provided a picture of the damage to my car and the gate and promised that they would take care of the damage. I assumed that this would simply be handled through their insurance and waited for them to provide this info over the period while the mechanical issue was resolved. I instead received a request to bring my car to their yard after it was repaired to have them see if they could handle the repairs directly. This struck me as odd (and shady) so I instead initiated a claim through my own insurance company. The damage was repaired via this path but Sky has yet to pay my insurance company even where acknowledging fault for the damage. I have attempted to have this issue resolved via direct calls and even enlisted AAA for help. Sky says that they provided the insurance information to AAA while telling my insurer that they are "self insured". This issue has escalated through at least 3 of my carriers departments (including legal) sine the incident and the costs remain unpaid after more than a year. I've been promised in every direct call (at least 6 so far) to have a "general manager" contact me that never does and the latest update from my insurance company tells me that this claim is currently in collections. All the while I'm still out of the $500 deductible. If all goes well with the pickup and delivery you'll probably be happy with their service. If anything goes wrong BEWARE!!!! What a great experience I had tonight. I got a flat tire (well, that wasn't the great part), and it was a company car. My boss called these guys. They were out there so quickly, it blew my mind. Shon, the tow truck driver, was so professional and nice. He introduced himself, and worked so quick on the tire. And the few questions I asked, he answered (that the tire probably couldn't be patched and that I shouldn't drive over 50 mph on the spare). They were booked through Toyota Roadside Assistance at noon to tow my car, their ETA was 1 pm. It was 2 pm and they did not sho up. They did not call or text to say that they would be here to pick up the car at a later time. When I called the number provided it went directly to VM and the mailbox was full. Very unreliable. Honest , sincere , helpful , courteous, professional. AAA dispatched them to jump my dead battery. Levan showed up in clean uniform and professional groomed appearance. (Not typical) his friendly attitude about my issue made me feel comfortable about my poor battery connections which he replaced in a bank parking lot. Not wanting to pressure me, he suggested a new battery And gave me his number. I declined and 15 mins later, I called dead on the road. He again came in 10 minutes and swapped out a new battery. 10/11/2013 My car died after pumping gas at Costco, found out my battery completely died. Called Triple A for a tow and ended up sending Sky Towing & Recovery. They were quick, friendly and professional. Gave us the option of getting it towed after letting us giving us the option of a jump or a tow, we opted to get a charge and drive it home which was not a problem. Hopefully we won't need to call them for anything else but want to recommend them if anyone else needs them anytime soon. Our 1998 Explorer threw a rod the other night when we were on our way home to Ramona, from Escondido. We called AAA the following morning and Sky Towing met us at the car. We had forgotten the key to the car and not only was the car locked, and the transmission and steering, as well. The parking lot was close quarters and the front tires on our car were also cocked to the left, making the whole situation of getting the car loaded onto the tow truck a herculean effort, but the driver, David Flores, got it done. They towed my car on Friday morning to their shop to replace the starter. 3 working days later a new starter, a new transmission sensor and I drove off the lot. Then discovered my ac/heater weren't working. So I returned to their shop. The first thing they ask "are you sure it was working before?". 45 minutes later they replace a fuse. Now the AC display lights up but still no AC/heater. They said a mechanic will come by. 25 minutes later no mechanic and they start locking up! I discover several functions on my dash don't work. I called Sky Towing today, August 6, 2018. The dispatcher was professional and polite, clear and detailed. Mike was our Tow Driver. He was super friendly and was exceptionally polite and professional as well. Right away, Mike offered the comfort of his Air Conditioned tow truck. And let me tell you, the vehicle was super clean and organized. I knew from the appearance of the driver to the cleanliness of thy equipment that our car being towed was going to be a good experience. Our driveway has a high slope which posed no problem for Mike who not only managed to get the car up the driveway but he parked it inside my garage!!! I just want to point out how shady this company really is. I have complained to BBB asking no compensation at all. I did it to ensure that the public is informed of their shadiness and dishonesty. I don't want anyone else to go thru this. I figured out early on after this incident happen with my car the way Cesar was responding to me that compensation was not going to happen. And yes I do admit I became verbally abusive after Cesar said that this was my "fault" and I said it wasn't me that damage the bumper. The breakdown location was recorded as 1777 Vista Del Lago Dr at N Stagecoach Lane in Fallbrook, CA in a ditch off of the road and the ETA for the assigned drivers arrival was given as within 1 hour. Our driver Cesar that was dispatched to this call stayed in contact with the member regarding ETA as well as our dispatch office to keep members informed of current status of our driver, and everything was coordinated with the AAA office as well. Cesar arrived at the scene and found the members vehicle stuck in a dirt and rocky ditch with damage already done to the undercarriage and other parts of the vehicle which were promptly documented by photos to assure that that was the condition of the vehicle upon arrival. He then informed the member that the only way to remove the vehicle was to lift it up and out from the back which was not lying flat in the ground as the rest of the vehicle was and would be the only way to remove the vehicle from where the member had become stuck. The member agreed to the service and gave consent as well as signing a release of liability due to the damage that was already done before Cesar arrived. The member then proceeded to complain to Cesar as he assisted her that he was causing the damage that was already there and that Sky Towing would be responsible for all damages. The member then became more verbally abusive and insulted and threatened Cesar even though he completed the service with complete professionalism and competence in addition to the signed waiver and documentation. We at Sky Towing always strive to uphold the integrity and service to our customers independently as well as being a long time AAA provider and will always work diligently between all parties to make sure that our customers receive an excellent experience. The driver was 3 miles away from me and it took him 1 hour to get to me. It was supposed to be 30 minutes. I wasn't really updated or called with and ETA. If the tow truck driver was running late the least they could do is call or text you to apologize for the delay. I have never had this problem before but honestly this company isn't worth it. Avoid at all costs! If I could give zero stars I would. Got into a car accident and I was told that since the shop I wanted them to tow my car to was closing soon, they would not tow it there. Instead they can only tow it to their shop and it was going to be free of charge since I had insurance. He didn't also stated that it cannot be towed to my house as well. Keep in mind, right after the accident, I already made arrangements with the other shop to have my car delivered there and they said it was fine. The following day(Saturday), I called their(Sky/Quality towing) shop and I stated I wanted to get my car out. The guy who picked up said that was fine but I would need to pay $400+ to get my car out. I agreed and made another arrangement to get my car out. Everything was set up.. or I thought. I called the shop again and the guy who previously told me what I needed to do to get my car out is now telling me they are closed. I asked why he didn't tell me earlier before I had made arrangements to get my car out and he stated "you didnt ask." Lol, wonderful customer service! I asked for his manager and he said there wasn't any and he couldn't give me his manager's name or info. For a towing / roadside service provider this company is MY 5 Star company in the North San Diego County area! The experience below mine can NOT be the norm, as it seems so extreme from my experience (and most others who have reviewed here). I have been a AAA roadside assistance member for 40+ years and have used their services several times over this time frame (some years 2 or 3 times and sometimes I went years without using them at all). This go around, earlier in the month, I got a blow out on the southbound I-15 in the morning. For those of you that have to travel this God awful freeway, during rush hour, know what a pain in the ass it is! I was going to try and change the tire myself, to expedite matters, but realized the POS jack the auto makers provide you was WORTHLESS! I reluctantly called AAA, as I figured it would take a couple hours for a tow truck to get to me under these circumstances (and I have experienced it with some of the two companies they have on rotation). After making my call, which the call taker can apparently use you cell phone's GPS location to track you (I have mixed feelings about this kind of surveillance. Just imagine what the Feds can do! But that is another story for another review / thread), I was told it could take up to 50 minutes. Okay, sure it will... Within a few minutes I received a phone call from the driver wanting to verify my exact location (southbound, right hand side of freeway, etc.). He told me it would be less than 20 minutes. Okay, sure it will... Less than 15 minutes later the driver / tow truck shows up! WTF? It was Sky Towing. The driver, who identified himself as "Sam" was very friendly and jumped on the mission at hand immediately. In less than 10 more minutes he had that stinking 'donut' tire, which the car manufacturers provide you, installed. He provided good driving advice on my return to Temecula and we bid each other ado. In case you are wondering - yes, it was the slowest I had driven on a wide open freeway (remember I was not going northbound in the morning) since I took my dang driver's test! Anyhow, I was quite impressed with the service provided by Sky Towing and Sam in particular! I actually took the time to call the company, thank them and give props about Sam. I will now REQUEST / REQUIRE they dispatch Sky Towing should I need any AAA services in the future. HIGHLY recommended! Sorry for the delayed Yelp review :-P read more

I am so tired of Sky Towing and their drivers/employees. My first experience was when my (ex) boyfriend crashed my beautiful green Mazda 2. The police called Sky Towing and I was expecting the driver to be kind to us since we were still both in shock. The first words out of his mouth were "Welp, you definitely messed up buddy. This one is totaled, no question." It made me very upset. Then, when I went to get my things from the tow yard, the ugly employees inside wouldn't even speak to me. Very rude. In addition, I see Sky Towing drivers taking cuts all the time. On well known merge roads, they will get to the very front before cutting everyone off. It makes me and other drivers pissed. They know what they're doing. They don't care. Choose a different towing company that actually appreciates their customers. read more

Was Driving with my Family on the 76 Freeway and had Truck 51 pull out in front of our car forcing me to slam on the breaks to not slam into the side of his flatbed truck. Driver was on the phone and didn't care/notice in the slightest that he almost caused a massive accident... Guess he would have been able to tow a few more cars... Called my insurance company regarding my roadside assist service. They called tow service and new ETA of an additional 30 minutes. So now almost 2 hours ETA from original call! Anyway...waited additional 45 minutes and just canceled the call. I will need to find a new roadside assist service that does not use this crummy company! Holy crap! !! I am sorry for the person who had to have their car dropped off by this tow truck, but I was ready to brain someone with the heaviest object I could find. Boyfriend pulls the truck up after midnight, has the LOUDEST back-up beeping noise, and left his super noisy diesel engine idling for 15 minutes right outside my bedroom window. And did he just pull out when he was done? Nope! Backed up to the intersection behind him to do a K-turn. There was an exit right in front of him! !!!
