Nice and new! We stopped in just to check out this place while on a road trip. We also stopped at the Ute Cultural Center & Museum next door. Both are pretty nice places. There are slots and table games. There is even a bowling alley in this facility. This resort also has RV parking in addition to rooms and suites. We didn't eat on this visit so I can't comment on that. I've visited many other tribal casinos.....this one ranks up there with being just as nice as the best I have been too, but just a little smaller in scale. read more

Played the machines, seems like they were constantly resetting them right after I played a machine, it was a weird experience. Did not have a good experience with the table games, either. Coming in there were guests who just walked right in without being scanned, I walked thinking there weren't taking temps, apparently one of the local natives called me out so loud it was embarrassing, I guess she didn't see the ppl in front of me, but man talking about ugly mugging a guest, I don't know what her problem was, local ute I guess, the ladies behind the hotel counter did not say anything, they were nice, but apparently Hitler walked in behind me, I don't think I'll come here again, that was embarrassing. read more

Went there today for the first time. Played a slot machine and it came up where I won 200X my bet plus 10 free games. Great right... except nothing happened. I never won the 200X my bet nor did I get the free games. Total ripoff. In addition it is a Monday and you are supposed to swipe your players card to determine your point multiplier for the day. Swiped and the promotion, which is available to all players card holders, magically wasn't available to me. I also won a full-house playing video poker, 25c bet, max bet with a progressive jackpot. I got it and was supposed to win $10.18 for the hand, yet they only gave me the $10.00. The "change" somehow got lost in the transfer to my winnings. I don't mind not winning at a casino, but I do not like being ripped off or cheated. Clearly what they advertise and what they deliver, are 2 separate things. All of the points that we earned and paid for before the closing, Sky Ute took away. They are not recognizing any of the obligations they had to their customers and the kiosks are not even open. This 5 star rating is for the clean, fully equipped, safe, pull through, pet friendly sites at the RV Park. Staff was super friendly and informative. As far as the casino goes, it's a smoking casino, I don't smoke. We weren't enticed by the food so we prepared meals in our RV. We played the slots the first day then discovered that our points earned do not count towards tomorrow's site fee. We went back the next day and played until we had earned enough points for a free night (RV Site) but they informed us that we can only use one and it has to be earned the day you want to use it which means getting an early start. They also don't allow two people to share one account. We didn't bother gambling anymore since there were no incentives available. We are staying here Monday-Friday the second week of April 2018. read more

No no no. First of all there were a ton of shady characters here. But anyways, it's so extremely hard to get any sort of alcohol. If you miss the one cocktail waitress on the floor you have to go into the restaurant and order a drink....and drink it there. It's also $5 bucks every time which is weird. Aside from that the machines are rigged. They are SUCH a low payout. Other than that every single staff person was ridiculously rude. Yuck yuck yuck. We tried Ute casino and it was at least a little better. Don't go here. Seriously you'll lose your shirt. read more

This tiny town and Ute Indians have this lovely facility. I've been there twice , but I can't handle the smoke , and going home smelling like smoke so I don't go there anymore. We ate at the cafe once, it was just ok. We are going to a concert there I am looking forward to (no smoking in that area). Recently built, great decor, free Wi-Fi, CLEAN, new, friendly. the buffet is fresh, fresh, fresh - all you need to make a salad as big as you want with all the fixings. My family and I traveled from good ol California to Colorado destination is Ute Museum and Casino/Resort. After 2 days we made it and yes it seemed like a mirage. When we arrived the staff was so welcoming, and nice. Our hotel room was comfortable and clean, my daughters loved it, I am sure the indoor pool had much to do with that! The indoor pool is so casual and elegant at the same time. We had treated ourselves to a wonderful dinner, the waitress was very honest with her suggestions. It's a casino unregulated as its Indian operated on the Ute reservation. As with all casinos they are built by losers, with their money. Free wi-fi in casino which is a plus. Efficiently operated to relieve the sucker of the most money in the shortest time. No free cocktails while playing. read more

It's definitely not Las Vegas but a small decent casino. We are not passionate gamblers, so I don't have too many details about slot machines or poker tables . We just happened to visit that area and loose couple $$.I was shocked that smoking is allowed inside, but we couldn't smell tobacco. I guess their AC is outstanding! Food is blah! Update on the Aspen room. They no longer have a breakfast buffet. Now they have a discount coupon for hotel guests. Not sure what happened with their food, but it wasn't nearly as good as the first time I was there. Biscuits and gravy were lukewarm and had no flavor, and the sausage was overly salty. The Casino was very slick and modern. I would not expect a casino to be that efficient but it was. I had dinner at the 49 Lounge. It had a large screen and a bartender that was on top of his game. The food was quite well done. The rooms in the hotel provided an excellent view of the ground floor and the country outside. I really liked the modern TV and the IPOD dock that was provided on the nightstand. The bed was quite comfortable. Parking was no problem. I would recommend coming here because of it's efficient service. I did like the bowling alley. It's not usual to have a bowling alley anywhere. This one had neat graphics. read more

Good room at a decent price. If you want to be able to order room service or any type of food delivery, you may want to look for something closer to town. Absolutely no delivery service will come near the casino. Other than that, the rooms were nice, and the staff was very courteous. There are a few things that were unusual (oddly mostly in the bathroom); like, the lack of a vent fan, or the sink that sprayed a little water on the counter with every use (soaking the soaps) because the aerator was either loose or improperly installed. We lost $10 at the casino; but, in fairness, slot machines kinda suck. The bowling alley was pretty big, but nobody was bowling while we were there. The food inside the hotel is okay, but not spectacular. All in all it was a decent stay, and I would visit again if we ever come back to Durango. read more

So I sat down at a machine put $ in machine.....2 minutes later an elder person walks up and says I took her machine and she turned chair around. She proceeded to grab her card and sit at machine around corner. A supervisor walked by and I let him know what happened. 15 minutes later she got her $12.40 and that was that. We made a reservation over the phone & told them we had a pet cat & they said no problem it's $50 non refundable fee...no problem we'll we drive all the way I from Phoenix 8hr drive only to b told @ check in they don't accept cats just dogs....they were rude & wouldn't accommodate us in anyway just told us to leave...@ no point on the phone or there website does it state no cats....I would never recommend this hotel to my worst enemy...worst experience ever read more

Waited about 10 mins for the lady in front to help me get checked in. There was no line. It took her forever to get my checked in. Went to the rooms, they were really nice and clean. Bathroom was really nice and roomy. However, there was no fan in there. The casino was nice but I hated the fact that they allow smoking in there. I couldn't breath the smoke was really thick. We left the next day and went to Mesa Verde came back around 7pm and found that our entry keys to our room had been deactivated. We went down stairs and they said they messed up and thought we only had reservations for one night. They looked up the reservation and saw that it was for 2 nights. That was an inconvenience. Also the restaurant we ate at there Seven Rivers Steak and seafood had horrible service and overpriced food that was wayyyy to salty. Horrible experience. We spend over $400 there and the service was horrible. They charged us $70 in gratuity that was not deserved. As we were leaving the restaurant the hostess standing there looking right at us did not say one word to us. I have high expectations for fine dining restaurants and this is one of the worst experience ever. Probably will never go again. I was not really satisfied with my overall stay mostly due to the services I received. read more

Went there and spent the night for a friend's birthday with a group. I was really surprised they allow smoking here, the entire casino is very smoky, despite the ventilation system. My son is sensitive to smoke & was coughing and feeling sick for an hour after walking through the casino to get to the bowling alley. I felt kind of nauseous too after a couple of hours. The non smoking bar was closed so we had to have dinner and drinks adjacent to the casino and smoking was permitted in the bar. Just doesn't seem like a healthy place to spend time, and the gaming was very tight, I lost 20 bucks and stopped there. The rooms were very nice and clean. The bowling alley is awesome, I believe it was a non smoking area and that was the highlight of the stay. Would be nice if they had a full bar and some decent beers in there though. I'm sure we will return just for the bowling alley. read more

We had a lot of problems during our stay. Our door wouldn't close properly, and could be pushed open from the hallway. It took the (very nice and friendly) maintenance staff 2-1/2 hours to replace the lock and strikeplate, and all the while there was a guy in our room or standing in the hall with the door open. Awkward. The repair took so long because there were people stuck in one of the elevators, and the staff were trying to fix that too. The crew actually told us they forgot about the guy they left standing at our door, which I guess means they forgot us, too. Once the lock was replaced, our key cards would not work. One of the staff had to come up and let us in with a physical key (they figured this out after sending a couple of different staff members with "master" key cards, which did not work). We had to go through the whole thing again the next morning after breakfast; we were sitting in the hall for 25 minutes until the right person came up to let us in--even though we had explained at the front desk we needed a physical metal key to get in the room. But there's more: When we opened up the sleeper sofa and turned down the sheets, we found FOOD in the bed. A quesadilla. In the bed. It was a minor point that there were no blankets in the room for the sleeper sofa, and we had to call the desk--again--for blankets and new sheets. My last complaint is regarding the service at the breakfast buffet. They added 18% gratuity to our check, because we had 6 people. But the only service we received was delivery of drinks (late--we were almost done with our meal). The server never even cleared any dirty dishes off the table, and obviously we served ourselves the food at the buffet. Then we had to go up to the cashier and wait while the server went somewhere and rung in our check. We did complain (repeatedly), and the casino comped about 40% of the cost of the room. I think a lot of people would have really gotten angry and taken it out on the staff, but my friend and I who booked the suite have worked in restaurant and bar service for many years, and we know what it's like to get yelled at for things we're not personally responsible for. It seems like Sky Ute has more of an overall management/policy problem. The individual staff members were very nice, friendly, helpful, and good-natured. The poor guy at the front desk looked so embarassed. Our suite, besides the problems we had, was very nice, new, and clean. Big TVs, wet bar, Ipod dock, soaker tub were all deluxe. Until the 25-min wait to get back in the room after breakfast, I was honestly thinking about going back (we are locals). But until the communication and service issues improve, I think not. Lower your expectations, or stay in Durango. read more

Restaurants and bars are completely underwhelming and the casino floor, where you're not allowed to have alcoholic beverages, reeks horribly of cigarette smoke. The Willows coffee shop could barely produce breakfast in 45 minutes with no flavor so we went with the bakery case the next day and got a dry as dust croissant. Continue on to Durango! read more

Worst casino experience ever. List of grievances: 1. Beverage service. There is none! No complimentary drinks which I consider an integral part of the gaming experience. At the very least it is a nice gesture for players who are usually losing a bank roll 2. No drinks on the game floor. Seriously?!! Not only must you go to the one bar to buy an OVERPRICED drink, it can't even be brought to your table, slot etc. 3. Tight slots, not one paid. Several people playing, not a one even got close to a payout. 4. Craps. I had several Come bets and they said they were working on a come out roll. That is never the case. I lost several Come bets before I knew it because after the shooter made the point, he hit 2,3 12 on the come out, crapping out. They took my established come bets! Come on! 5. The final insult- On black jack I had an 11 and the dealer showed a 3. Textbook double down. As I was reaching for chips, the dealer hit me without me even knowing it. I complained, the pit boss came over and the dealer admitted her mistake. The pit boss, said there was nothing he could do. Really? How about letting me make my bet? Heck comp me a drink as a nice gesture for an obvious mistake that cost me money? Something! Bad casino, bad dealers, bad service, bad games and terrible atmosphere. This is the worst casino have ever been to, flabbergasted at the way they treat guests!! There was an issue with a free hotel voucher on Saturday but players club said come back Tuesday to speak with Casino Manager. I agreed to that, asked when the Casino Manager would be in and was told 1st thing Tuesday morning. I went in early Tuesday morning to find not one person could say when the Casino Manager would be in. Had breakfast which took waitress 3 trips to table to take order, was incorrect and cold. Spoke with The Willows manager and he said there was issue in kitchen and that his server did not show. Worst breakfast ever yet paid over $14.00 for eggs wafflle and juice! I have worked in Customer Service over 35 years and am amazed any one of the many people I spoke with including a manager are still employed!! Told to wait couple hours till players club opens and maybe they would know when a Casino Manager would be in. I stated I am pretty disgusted with my experience and would not stay 2 hours to maybe find out when could speak with a Casino Manager. Asked if there is anyone in charge that I could speak with and was told no. Said if they did not want me patronage that was fine, plenty of casinos to visit and will never be this ridiculous excuse for an establishment again! read more

If you are looking for a Las Vegas Casino go to Las Vegas. This is a nice Ute Indian casino set in the Rockies in southern Colorado. The casino is a normal casino. If you are lucky and play smart you might win. I liked the poker room and my wife hit two small jackpots on the Keno machines. We ate at two of their restaurants and the food was good at both of them, I recommend the green chili stew and Indian fry bread. There is a large indoor pool and hot tub and a very nice RV Park that I also recommend. The bowling alley was big and mostly empty so if you like to bowl this is the place. There is a lot to do in the area and we will definitely come back. read more

The rooms are clean and spacious. The bathrooms are really nice too. Separate bath and shower. The lights are dim as the come on and slowly get brighter. Lots of nice toiletries including sewing kit and shoe mitt. We booked the standard 2 doubles. The pool wasn't deep but my son enjoyed the little lazy river. read more

Great place to hold a conference or training. I attended the National Native American Purchasing Association annual conference. At check in the front desk agent was very delightful. The rooms were amazing. I'm not much of a gambler but did enjoy bowling. Normally the resort doesn't have karaoke on Monday or Tuesday but because our group requested this they accommodated us. Customer service was top notch at this resort. The employees catered to our needs, they went above an beyond. I ate dinner at Seven Rivers Steaks and Seafood, the stuffed halibut with crab was amazing. The resort is centrally located between Silverton Train, Pagoso Hot Springs, Mesa Verde National Park. I would recommend this resort for personal and business trips. read more

We stayed at the RV park. When you arrive at the casino, follow the signs to the RV Park and see the host. She'll tell you what site you're in. Pull into the site. Be careful when you hook up your utilities. You'll be standing on stones and can twist your ankle. After you're set up, go into the casino to check in. They'll give you a parking pass and keys to access the laundry and the pool. The RV park is very nice and clean. You're parked on macadam and there's a cement patio with a picnic table. The pool is large and beautiful. There are 2 washers ($1.75) and 2 dryers ($1.50) in the laundry. That sounds reasonable, but the dryer only runs for 30 minutes so you sometimes have to run the load through a second time. Also, there is no place to park near the laundry, so you have to haul your laundry quite a distance. All in all, we enjoyed our time here and would stay here again if ever in this area. read more

The room was decent. The "lazy river"pool sounded nice after a long drive. We went down to check it out and the design of it was cool, but they didn't follow through. Narrow "river" winding trail and shallow water, but no raft or tube to float around on. At the desk we were told there was a dollar store nearby where we could pick up a noodle for the pool, but we decided to skip it. The Willows Cafe was so bad. I ordered the portabella mushroom on wheat with fries. The bread was soggy, and the roasted red pepper hummus with the flavor of balsamic was strange, and the fries had been re-heated it seemed, and were cold and hard. I was hungry from being on the road all day, and could not eat this food. My husband's burger was pink and he'd asked for well done, but it was tolerable. I had to wonder if they care at all about customer satisfaction. The waitress saw the food on my plate when she was clearing and asked if I didn't like it. I told her it was really strange and she replied in a whisper, "I know, it's disgusting". Upon Checkout, we were asked how our stay was, and reported honestly that the room was decent, but the food was horrible. The reply was something like a chuckle and "that's why we don't eat here". The architecture of the building is cool, great natural light, decent rooms, but bring your own food, and don't expect what I'd consider a typical lazy river experience. read more
