I've lived here for a year now, unfortunately we will not be staying as Equity Residential wants to raise my rent $250. The largest 1 bedroom at Skycrest is 760 sq ft and I'd like go at least 840 sq ft. If that was available without the massive price jump to a 2 bedroom I would 100% stay here. The office staff is always nice and friendly and responsive. Skycrest recently installed the Amazon lockers which makes picking up packages a breeze, I always got the code right away after the tracking notice even for non-Amazon deliveries. Prior to that the staff was always helpful and careful with my packages but I was limited to the office hours. The maintenance staff: Rogelio and the team are AMAZING, always very nice and friendly and respond to requests quickly, I will definitely miss that kind of service. The grounds and everything are kept pretty clean, there is the occasional inconsiderate resident that doesn't pick up the dog poop especially when they walk their dog not near their building and you get a little noise from kids playing outside but nothing at all disruptive. My only negative would be the prices and the raise for a renewal but that is feedback for the Corporate level at the residential level I loved living here. I do pay for an additional carport spot which I totally recommend since parking can get full very quickly in the corner parts of the community where there are less spots than others, I always see the guest parking is full but not the extra carports. read more

The staff here at Skycrest works very hard to accommodate and help whenever and wherever they can. Equity apartments owns a lot of apartment buildings in the area and has centralized the staff off site from Skycrest and on site at a different complex. Since this move its been harder for the community to feel like they have the help or support we prefer, like being able to walk in or call an office with dedicated staff to our location. Despite this, workers like Melinda go out of their way to provide timely help and responses when they can. She does the best at keeping us in the loop and letting us know if she needs to gather more information before answering a question she doesn't know. She's never left us in the dark or waiting am extended period of time. One of the good ones for sure, and everyone in that centralized office deserves a raise read more

This apartment complex has been great for my fiancé and I. We moved in shortly after 2021 began and they have made everything so simple and easy. The staff in the office is phenomenal and very accommodating to things I request and need. The apartments themselves are great, quiet and comfortable. My only gripe is the parking situation, the enforcement of people using their garages for parking and not storage is lackluster. This is a tough review. It has no reflection on the staff as they were helpful. This is more. Reflection on the business/ corperation side of things. For the staff I would give them 4 stars. For the corporate side 1 star at best. The office staff seem to understand what the tenants are experiencing and try to work with you. The corporate side is concerned purely on how much they can squeeze from each tenant. Fees for everything. If you are looking to move here beware of the fees. Also know your rent will increase when your lease is up at the max rate the law allows. Since I'm at it. Parking is awful at best. Impossible at most times. I used to adore living here. It was quiet, clean and the staff was professional. For the price you would pay, I would reconsider moving here unless you like being surrounded by dog feces, trash, rats/bugs, no parking, humans defecting in the pools/spas and endless amount of nonsense. There is no on-site staff and even if you call or attempt to reach out, they will not return your calls. Skycrest Review It is very difficult to choose a place of living as many factors come into play; cost, location, amenities and in my opinion the most important item the staff running the community. My initial research narrowed down to one community and that is Skycrest off of McBean and Decoro Drive. Coming from a customer service related job, I was very enamored by the performance of the community manager Becky. My transition from beginning to end was painless which she averred. What can I say that has not already been said about Becky and her team? A recommendation of this team from multiple people brought me here and her professionalism made choosing a home easy. My time at Skycrest wouldn't have been what it was without Samuel who is part of their maintenance crew. Samuel makes sure your maintenance issues are handled fast and properly so return trips aren't necessary for the same issue. The community is nice, the amenities are clean, but I wish more residents would pick up after their pets... but that's an issue you find anywhere unfortunately. If it wasn't for Samuel though, I don't think my experience would have been as good as it was. read more

Lady asked if I was Greg and I told her no I wanted some information to passibly rent. She said she was waiting for someone named Greg and didn't have time for me. I want to preface this with everyone in the office has been incredibly helpful, however I want to get the attention of their horrible management company of not standing behind life over profit. I have been renting at Skycrest Apts, for 10 Months. This is a smoke free apartment complex. I have an infant which was born with lung problems. The marijuana smoke has leeched into my apartment on many occasions. I have filed a complaint every single time which is over 30 times. They have yet to handle the problem. Things have gotten phyiscal with the other tenant and threatened the livelihood of my family. I have asked repeatedly to simply move him or move me more than willing, I was assured that wouldn't be necessary. MY MISTAKE! It's been 2 more months past this point I tell them I'd like to leave at this point after filing numerous complaints and dealing with this for over 5 months. They hit me with a breaking the lease fine, I understand this but after so many complaints and trying to work with them will be seeking legal action for the health hazard created with no genuine attempt at resolvence. read more

I faced the worst experience possible even before I moved in. I had to bear the brunt of very unprofessional service and non-commitment to the words that I was promised by the leasing/management team at SkyCrest Apartments, Valencia, CA. Here is my story: I applied for the Crescent style apartment which was listed when I searched for the available apartments in your website. At the time of application, the move-in date was shown as 2-Feb-2018. The apartment mentioned was a crescent style (760 sq ft) and renovated. My application was approved but I was told that the apartment was not actually not renovated but a classic one and to renovate it would take 10 days more. So my move in date will have to be 10-Feb-2018. Even though this was inconvenient to me, I agreed to that. I was given the option that I will inspect the apartment first at the day of move-in and then I can sign the leasing agreement. I also agreed to that. I am staying in a rented room currently and the agreement is on a month-to-month basis. My agreement ends on 31st Jan. However, just for the 10 days in Feb, 2018, I had to pay half month rent to the owner to extend my stay. I even booked the airline tickets to bring in my family since that was the primary reason for me to move to the new place. Now today I get a shocking email from the leasing executive that the current resident at the apartment has decided not to move out and that I cannot be provided with the apartment. This is totally unbelievable and untrue since if the apartment was listed in the apartment search at your website, then it means you were well aware of the things else that apartment would not have been made available. I was not told about this truth that the decision of the owner is pending when Skycrest approved my application. They only did so when less than 15 days is remaining for me to move in. Is this how Equity apartments honors its commitment and words? Do you have any idea how much inconvenience can be caused by such an unprofessional act? read more

I'd say this is an 8/10 stars place. I like everything about it except that they raise the rent the max legal amount every year and there's no real ability to negotiate with the multi-state corporation that owns the place. Also, my friends complain that there's no parking after 6 PM. Otherwise I'm pretty happy. The gym is nice, the landscaping is pretty, and I haven't had any trouble with neighbors, trash, or getting things fixed when needed. The security guy is chill, and while I haven't seen the office staff lately, they were nice and very on top of things, when I moved in. read more

RENTER'S BEWARE!! For three years I have raved about this complex and recommended to to anyone looking because I only had great things to say. A couple of months ago things really changed and I am telling everyone to STAY AWAY. Cockroaches and $200 rent increase, need I say more? One of my biggest issues is their corporate policies. If you get lucky and get into an apartment at a low rate, enjoy it for the one year it will last because they will up your rent a crazy amount. We were sent a $200 renewal rate this year and they will not work with you at all in lowering it. Read the other reviews, I know personally people who have moved across the complex to the same apartment in a different spot because there are times new residents will get a lower rate than your renewal offer. We could have saved $50 by moving into our same apartment a building down, but they wouldn't let us save $50 in our own apartment. Insane. COCKROACHES OMG. When we lived on the first floor we would occasionally have a roach or two crawl in from outside. You would see them all over the walkway at night but somehow I didn't freak out because they were walking in, it wasn't like the building was infested. Well, one year later we move up to the second floor-infested. They were a different kind than the first floor and they were in my kitchen drawers, dishwasher, bathroom, and on my patio. So embarrassing and disgusting, really never expected to run into that here. And once you have roaches in a huge building like that, you are pretty much always going to have them. I feel so bad for whoever is the next resident in my old apartment. The average price for a 2 bedroom apartment there is $1800-2000. Why I chose to pay top dollar for a roach infested apartment with nothing special amenities and a sub par apartment that doesn't even have nice finishings I'm not sure. You can rent a nice townhome or condo for that price (which is what we are doing now.) And if you have to be in an apartment, if you're going to pay that much, at least get one that looks nice with nice cabinets or something. Literally the only good things about SkyCrest are some staff (Jessica is the only cool one in the office and she actually did resolve minor issues for me, and all maintenance staff is nice and helpful) and the location is the only other good thing. Please understand this is an honest review. I'm not trying to "get back" at them for anything, I loved it for three years. Now it just truly sucks. My Yelp name is anonymous because I'm embarrassed I lived with roaches. And whoever in the office responds to these reviews, save it. I've already begged and cried in your office for help and you still couldn't do anything for me. read more
