Splendid. My employer and I decided in early August to buy 2 passes. We were stoked. The day arrived and I was so stoked. Brazilian Roberto and American Nick were two of the coolest instructors. They both put my friend and I at ease, informed us of what to expect and how to move from sky to landing. The ride up was breathtaking, the views were magnificent. Roberto and Nick were cracking us up and pumping us up the entire flight up. Showtime. I was Flying! Roberto is the man, we were going through clouds, left, right, flips, side to side. WOW! literally just returned home from one of the most exhilarating experiences of my life. Kick it off with the staff who was absolutely great and chill group of individuals the jumpers, as well as steve the receptionist and lisa, i mean Cristine were the coolest people i almost felt compelled to ask them out for beers and shot the shit. This place is wonderful! I and my friend took our first jump there on Wednesday. Everything there was great fun. Stuffs were very nice. They will carefully check your gear and explain everything you should know for a good jumping. (practice your banana shape well! ) I jumped with my instructor Nick who was very easygoing and patient. I felt comfort and stopped to be too nervous because of him. Thank you so much Nick! You are definitely a hero! (My friend's instructor, Joe, was also a very good instructor, my friend told me that after we landing. ) The real experience showed me that skydiving is not as bad as I thought. I totally enjoyed the whole process. My fall was just like sleeping in the sky with a huge fan facing me. I am considering another jump there. Can't wait for that : ) read more

My GF and I just had our first sky diving experience with Skydive South Shore this past weekend and it was FANTASTIC! The staff is very helpful and the instructors were very knowledgeable. We knew that we were in good hands with these folks. I think if anything, their customer service is what really stood out for me personally. We ordered the DVD and photo package and realized after the jump that we'd like to get the raw footage of the dive. They were able to go above and beyond and send us over all the raw video footage that we asked for which made us very happy. For as nervous as I was before skydiving, the employees at South Shore made me feel very comfortable every step of the way by answering every question I had. When it came time to do the jump, my instructor Nick was very calming and I appreciate him putting me at ease. Skydiving is an amazing and thrilling experience. I really do think people become their own worst enemies sometimes because they psyche themselves out too much. Honestly my nerves was worse than the short instant of fear when you jump. After, the sight and the feeling of soaring through the air is thrilling. I would do it again and with this specific company. For this being my first jump, I'm so happy that I came across South Shore. I could not begin to tell you how much of a letdown this experience was coming here. It was my first time skydiving and had really high hopes and expectations for this place. It was unfortunate, but this was my wedding gift from my best man and it was extremely upsetting that I wasn't able to enjoy myself. The individual who was my instructor was completely rude and did not allow me to enjoy the experience. Now I can't say the same for any of the other instructors considering that I have not been with any other one, but if you're going to come here I would make sure that you get to know your instructor before you go up in a plane and he has your life in his hands.... definitely only getting one star... read more

Went skydiving (my first time) at SSS yesterday. It was an excellent experience. My instructor, Will, was charming and funny and kept the mood light, and of course did an incredible job guiding me through the process. Long wait time. Jumping only with 2 people; no singles so be prepared to get crowded into a tiny plane with little room to budge and difficulty exiting for jump. If you're not arriving with someone to jump with, be prepared to go with a complete stranger. You will not be told this when booking. Rude management. Went with my girlfriend last weekend, both of us jumped for the first time. The jump was fine, Nick and Erica were friendly and made us feel safe. We had decided to get videos since it was both of our first times and the girl at the counter had suggested getting the pictures as well for an extra $30. When I land they told me there was a problem with the SD card and they had lost my video. They offered me no discount or apology and I wound up having to pay $100 for the pictures which I didnt really care for to begin with. I will never be able to capture that first jump again and they could not have cared less. Left upset and dissapointed after having just jumped out of a plane. Definitely will NOT be back. read more

The actual experience was amazing. The men who did the tandem jump, Nick, and Joe, were extremely nice, and ensured that the experience went smoothly. I am giving a 3-star review because of the lack of customer service during the scheduling process. I was rescheduled several times due to weather, which is understandable, but, when I needed to reschedule, I was charged a $50 fee. Also, we were told one of the times we were scheduled that the weather should clear up by the time we got to the location (1.5 hours away from NYC) once we got there, we were again assure that we could jump because the weather wasn't "too bad", so we waited around for an hour and a half, and were then told we couldn't jump. Now, I don't want to jump out of a plane in crappy weather, but, I also don't want to make a 3 hour round-trip drive, just to be cancelled, and then when I cancel, get charged and hit with a rude explanation of why I'm being charged. Also, the woman who ran the place was bad-mouthing other sky-dive spots in LI, I understand you have competition, but try and keep it professional. read more

I have always wanted to skydive, and I found the perfect place! Arranging my appointment with the staff at Skydive South Shore was so pleasant, and they answered all my questions and addressed any concerns I had. The day of my jump, the weather was a bit of a factor, and they put safety first. I was soon given the go ahead for the jump, and up we went with a wonderful pilot! Nick, my instructor, put me completely at ease and took the reins, so to speak. He was fantastic, guiding me through everything, and when the jump occurred, I was not particularly nervous and was able to enjoy the thrill of it all!! Beautiful views and even some instruction from Nick on how to steer the parachute. The experience was almost surreal as well as serene at times. I loved every moment and can't wait to go back! Plus, I purchased the video and photo package, which may be a little pricey, but worth it for the professional way it was done and for all the memories it provides. thank you for making my first jump so memorable.. staff were nice and made us so comfortable.. even the prior plane crash in the airport didnt make us feel scared or reschedule our jump.. my instructor nick was so nice and so is erika. i never had a rollercoaster ride but skydiving just gave me a awesome and fun experience. plus i'm acrophobic but the nice view of the island just made my jaw dropped in awe.. love it!!! read more

im glad i went for the video option because i barely remembered what really happened since i was pretty apprehensive about the dive. they did a great job editing the video, putting in the music and possibly cutting out embarrassing shots of me with wind tunneling into my mouth while going 120mph hahaha. my instructor, joe, tried to lighten up the mood by being energetic since i was pretty much FLIPPING OUT inside my head. thank the looooooooord i didn't need extra underwear when the whole thing was over! bonus for the freezie pops!! :) great experience, definitely recommend! read more

Skydive South Shore was awesome. I jumped with Erika and she was fantastic. The whole experience here (from the ground crew to the landing) was incredible. This is my second skydive (first at this facility) and I was amazed at how much better it was. My better half jumped with Nick and had a great time, too. We all laughed and talked on the flight up, which made us feel safe and secure, and when it was time to jump the instructors were professional and attentive. In the air was amazing and I even got to pull the chute and perform some swirling maneuvers on the way down. Highly recommend you stop looking and come to Skydive South Shore. This place is ah-mazing!! From our check-in to check-out we were made to feel at ease and like old friends. Nick was so professional, calming and fun to jump with. He made the whole experience unforgettable. Erika was also really cool, who jumped with my boyfriend.
