Skydiving in Rhode Island with Skydive Newport was a wonderful experience. They are extremely professional. The guides that jump with you have a lot of experience under their belts. One of our guides has been skydiving for 15 years and the other one for 40 years. They make you feel comfortable and that you are good hands. Skydive Newport charges $220 for the jump and an optional $95 for the photo and video package. For a person this would be $315 total. They had no hidden fees - no equipment fees, airport taxes etc. This is advertised on their website as well. This was good compared to a lot of other places that we researched which were charging $250 for just the jump and lot of other additional things. The paper work and the initial lessons do not take a long time. We (Me and my wife) have been wanting to skydive for a long time. Some of our other friends who have done this before suggested that we go to place which is closer to the ocean for the view. They were absolutely right. The minute you jump out of the plane, you start enjoying the view. Beautiful ocean, small beaches and small islands, the bay on one side and the city and the woods on the other. Absolutely breath taking. While you are enjoying the view and the adrenaline rush, the guides are busy taking your photos and videos. Once the parachute opens, the falling slows down and the guides give you the control of the parachute so that you can turn in different directions and enjoy the view. It was amazing. They capture the photos and the videos all along, after you complete the crash course and once you ready, from the time you get ready, get on the tarmac, before getting into the plane, in the plane and the jump of course. Once the jump is over, they take about 20 minutes to give you the pictures and video. The video is processed very well with the background songs and all. All said this was one of the most beautiful and amazing experiences that we had. I would definitely recommend going with Skydive Newport for your skydiving experience. read more

I had an amazing experience at Skydive Newport! I was greeted at the door by a very friendly woman who guided me to the location to meet my group. There I met the owner who jokingly assured our safety and walked us through the waiver process which was all done on iPAD's and very user friendly. I then met Chris who helped me get into my gear, tested my gear on the ground, and then again in the plane, before he tossed me out of an airplane. At no point did I ever feel uneasy about being strapped to Chris or the gear failing in any way. All the equipment, including the plane and friendly pilot, were well kept. As we fell from the sky, Chris navigated with his hands so I knew exactly where to look for the best views of Newport and the surrounding areas. Once the shoot was pulled and we could hear each other, Chris told me all about the islands in the distance and pointed out landmarks. I felt like I received an air view tour of Newport along with the thrill of my life. The ride to the EXTREMELY GENTLE landing was breath taking! Skydive Newport was amazing! I called at the beginning of the day and asked if it would be possible to do a tandem jump that morning. While they were obviously busy, they were happy to accommodate me. The were extremely polite, courteous, and professional. For my tandem instructor, Eric, I will add patient, confident & unassuming. The check in process was swift and I was up in a plane soon after arriving. While I felt Skydive Newport takes safety very seriously, I was still a little nervous jumping out of a perfectly good airplane. Eric made me feel comfortable during the flight up to 10,000ft and was encouraging throughout the skydive. The dive was breathtaking! What a stunning location for a skydive... watching tall ships sail along the glistening ocean, looking at sandy beaches and rocky shores... You really can't beat the professionalism and personableness of the staff, the efficiency and safety of the organization, and the stunning scenery around Newport Rhode Island. If you're thinking about skydiving in the New England area STOP WHAT YOU"RE DOING and make a reservation with Skydive Newport because it is one decision you will NOT regret! I was originally supposed to have my first jump with Skydive South Boston, but after they cancelled on me three times I gave Skydive Newport a call and that same day I was jumping out of their plane with ease. Every staff member was incredibly friendly, comforting, and welcoming. My instructor Nicky was extremely personable and kept me without worry the entire ride up and down. There is constant communication with the tandem instructor and I felt as safe skydiving with him as I did driving my car. Even though I live two hours away, it was worth the drive 100%. I am extremely happy that we chose Skydive Newport for our first skydiving experience. The staff was very knowledgeable, calm, confident, and professional. It is very clear that all their jumpers have a lot of experience. The entire process, from arriving to landing, was as smooth as can be. Actually, i was surprised at how easy they made the pre-jump process. The prices are a bit higher here but it was well worth it considering how safe we felt. Plus the view of Newport is hard to beat. The jumpers were very professional and made us feel at ease on the ride up to 10,000 feet. I would recommend this place to anyone, especially first timers. Skydive Newport is AWESOME. I can't say enough good things about the staff, the whole experience was incredible. Especially if you are making your first jump, this is the place to do it! From the moment I got there everyone was so friendly and welcoming, and my instructor, Nicky (Lucky Sideburns!) was fantastic. My daughter and I have been planing this for years. On my 53rd birthday this July (2016) we finally made it. Skydive Newport is the ONLY place to skydive. The staff were fantastic and very professional.. Pete (one of our guides) was funny, entertaining and very professional. He made the experience memorable and exciting.. The fall was incredible and when the shoot opened the view was as spectacular as you can imagine. The landing was so smooth I didn't even realize we had touched down. Went up with two of my friends; only had an appointment set up for two of us but they were able to accommodate all three of us on such short notice! Jumped out of Westerly and had an amazing view not to mention awesome instructors - we jumped with Nick and Rich. Skydiving here is an awesome experience. I've jumped here twice this year. I have gone to other places in the area and this place has the best view hands down. The staff is professional while at the same time super fun. I was having a good time as soon as I waked in the door. The plane ride up is one of the best parts of this experience.
