The best experience I could dream of for my birthday! Before arriving, I was excited beyond belief to skydive but was naturally a little nervous as well. Skydive OC was superb in every part of my experience. Their staff are extremely competent, informative, and caring-- from check in/information session/training with their young staff to being in the air and the conclusion getting picked up from the field! Staff we interacted with and all were AMAZING: Janice, Natalie, Chase, Hayden, and Kalay, plus a few others! When signing up, the staff noticed it was my birthday and added little party emoji to my name on the display and sang to me on the plane. A bunch of them checked in with me to wish me a happy day! What I appreciated most was how they simultneously hype you up while making sure you're highly educated on all necessaey steps and precautions. I felt super confident in the process. The staff adapted every step so you're comfortable as possible, going so far as to modify the straps so I was never too tight when I didn't need to be, allowing me to breathe easy. I don't mean to generalize when I say "everyone is great" but really, truly EVERYONE WAS FREAKING AMAZING! Their staff are skilled, trained professionals through and through! I had the best time of my life! It was exhilarating and such a rush of good feeling all around. There were 4 of us altogether that decided to take the jump. The staff was excellent and very caring. The instructors made us feel very welcomed and was so friendly, calm, and excited for us. They made sure we had pictures and video to capture our wonderful experiences. I will definitely be jumping again next year! A big thank you to everyone for making this event the best ever! We finished off the day with lunch and headed over to the beach. This was my first tandem skydive and I don't think I could've picked a better place. I was going with 2 friends; we decided to do the 15K jump. I called and they said they had an 11 AM slot available. I told them I would call them back after I talked to my friends; after confirming with my friends, I tried calling them back but couldn't get ahold of anyone for the rest of the day. When I called back the following day, the only time they had available was 1:20 PM - not our ideal time, but we went with it. This was the one part of our experience that wasn't so great. When we got to the airport, we went to their office and paid the remainder of what was due for the jump. We were then each given sets of waivers; like all skydiving places, they require you sign your life away before you jump. One thing I will say: their planes are small and can only take 2 jumpers up at a time. This resulted in a pretty lengthy wait from when we filled out the waivers to when we actually were going up in the plane. The jump was incredible! The instructors were awesome; they took the time to explain everything to us so that we wouldn't be nervous. The most nerve wracking part for me was when we were going up in the plane - looking down was making me uneasy! Surprisingly, once the plane door opened, I felt much more at ease. The view here beats the pants off any other skydiving place in MD, DE, or VA. You get an AMAZING view of the beach, bay, and ocean. You also get an awesome view of the Ocean City skyline which is pretty great. They also do significantly higher jumps than most places; this means more time in freefall, which is AWESOME! The week after I came here I went to DC Skydiving Center in Warrenton, VA; that place was kinda ghetto, the staff was kinda douchey, the jump wasn't as high, and the view was nothing but trees and open land. I'm taking a trip to the beach next weekend and have already booked the 18K jump with these guys, I can't wait! read more

There's a certain calm and acceptance of inevitability when you're tumbling out of the sky. There's no fear. There's no anxiety. It's pointless. You're either going to be fine, or you're not. And it's entirely out of your hands. So I let the wind fill my ears. The world spreads out below - the ocean vanishes into the sky on one side and the greens, browns, and yellows of the ground and trees span out the other. And there's nothing but the wind, the fullness of the earth, and me, screaming and laughing inaudibly into a space that can't hear me. My arms are out. Partially to touch the air. Partially because I want to encompass the expanse below me. From up here, it's all so small and far away - it's hard to remember the daily struggles of terrestrial life. So I don't. Taps on the shoulder and a sudden lurch; the wind recedes and the sounds of the world come back. We're gliding, wheeling, and twisting to take in everything that the clearest of late spring days offers. Do birds get to appreciate this rare and unobstructed view that they have such ready access to? I don't imagine so. No. This is an entirely human experience. And it's something amazing. ---------- Skydiving is a breathtaking experience, and the staff of Ocean City Skydiving did a great job of making it effortless and safe for us, and I don't have a single complaint to offer. From the moment we arrived it was like we were family. The easy familiarity of being greeted by Janice, filling out forms upon forms of waivers, getting introduced to our instructors (Daniel and Josh), being briefly trained on what to and what not to do, then heading off to the ten or fifteen minute flight up to the jump altitude, and being shuttled back via golf cart after landing - everything ran like clockwork. The friendly and flexible attitudes of each of the small staff here made for a pleasant time. I felt a little bad about not being able to offer much in the way of conversation. I was too busy taking everything in. I'd never been in a tiny prop plane before. That's an experience in and of itself. Being jammed like sardines into a tiny confined space, with your ears filled with the sounds of propeller noise, and the knowledge that two inches from your your left pinky toe is just air. Air that you're about to throw yourself into. Paying by credit card, I believe there's a nominal additional service charge. Even so, the ~$230 seemed completely reasonable to me. There's also a nominal charge for every pound over 225 you weigh, up to a hard cap of 250. Although it's not necessarily a hobby/sport I can see myself avidly pursuing, I'd strongly recommend everyone go skydiving at least once in their life. It was expensive. I won't lie. And you really need to sign away all of your rights to sue. However it was incredible, the guys that my son and I jumped with were great, they did a fantastic job. I would do it again in a heartbeat. We jumped at 15,000 feet, and the ride down was incredible. The scariest part was just getting out of the plane, but once we did we were having the time of our lives! Better than any roller coaster or ride I've ever been in,! We were staying at Sun Outdoors Campground, which is right next door to the airport. For a few days, I'd been watching other skydivers coming down. So out of the blue I called them up and they scheduled me right in for the next morning. Next morning came and there was a weather delay. They were great about communicating it to us with text messaging. When I got there, both Janice and Natalie, the office staff were very friendly and pleasant to deal with. They handed us our waiver paperwork to fill out and got us on the jump list. When it was time to gear up, Chase, Equinox and Hayden, the back room staff/chute packers/ground crew, were also very friendly and pleasant to deal with. They got our harnesses fitted and installed on us while we watched a brief informative video of what to do and expect. They then carted us out to the field, where we met two more great guys, Kalay and Pedro, our jump instructors. We then got in the plane, met another great guy...Will our pilot who flew us up to about 8000 feet. Now it was time to SHUT UP AND JUMP!!!. Not gonna lie, it felt a little weird.....Kalay, opening the airplane door, saying go ahead, get out and then all of a sudden BANG we jumped. What an awesome feeling. The freefall was amazing!!! So So cool!!! ...then time to open the chute and just sailing, enjoying the view. So awesome!! Kalay gave me the ropes and let me steer for a little ways till it was time for the landing. He took over and brought it down perfect so we could just skim the ground and run it off. Then we were met by Chase, Equinox and Hayden again, the great ground crew to help us wrap it all up. I loved it so much that I immediately signed up for another flight and jumped again the same day. The second jump was every bit as great as the first one. What a great group of people working here. I recommend this place to anybody. Just DO IT!!! read more

Warren and mark were extremely nice and helpful. Both answered all questions my best friend and myself had. In all honesty, I found them extremely funny. As I was freaking out about jumping I always found myself laughing. As I continued to freak out, Warren made sure I was OK through the entire experience. The experience was everything we needed to hit that 30 mark. The staff was extremely professional. My wife and I celebrated out 25 wedding anniversary jumping out of a perfectly fine airplane. We vacation every summer at Castaways Resort and always see the parachutes from the beach. Absolutely the best experience. The staff was professional and friendly. Paul and Chris were great. They explained everything about the jump and what we should expect. Order the photo/video package. Well worth it. Great views of O.C. and Assateague Island. We did the basic 8000ft jump which was great. I'm sure the 12000ft jump is just as great. Yes, at one point during freefall while staring down at the airport runway the Wiley E Coyote cartoon went through my head. "Poof". YES!!! I would absolutely do it again. Book now. This was my first time skydiving, and while the jump was incredible, my memory of the whole event is very negative, and I feel like this company ruined the experience for me. I'm really glad I did it, I only wish I'd spent my money at another business as the staff here was horribly unprofessional. Mark openly complained about customers who don't make appointments (i.e. myself and my friends, the people he was speaking to) and otherwise whined his way through the whole day. Warren blatantly treated my friend as stupid, simply because English is not his first language and sometimes he has trouble understanding native speakers. Another in our group left $200 cash in a cubby inside the building because we were asked to empty our pockets before jumping. After the jump, his other items were still in the cubby, but no cash. He asked about it once and was told it wasn't there. He asked a second time, insisting that he had left it in the building, and suddenly Warren found the cash in his own pocket. The jump itself was awesome but overall I'm very disappointed in the experience because of these issues. If you're interested in skydiving, I say definitely do it, but definitely don't do it here. read more

I seriously wish I could give them more than 5 starts! My friends and I jumped here this past weekend as part of my 26th birthday celebration and our experience could NOT have been any better!!! They accommodated the time frame we wanted. Their staff was seriously just perfect! Clayton at the front was hilarious and made us feel super easy about all the paperwork we had to sign ( It could be very intimidating signing your life away) and the girls at the front desk were nice enough to write certain things we wanted on our hands ( for picture purposes) and even the guy who set up our gear and taught us what to do was just amazing. Hands down.. BEST STAFF! You guys take an already memorable experience and turn it into something just indescribable!!! As we go higher and higher into the sky my tandem jumper eased my fear and just made sure to make me excited, not scared! When you're sitting on the edge of the plane with your legs hanging thousands of feet in the air you just get this rush of calmness through your body. As you start to feel fall you just let your mind take over and enjoy the amazing views ( it totally helped that we had ocean views. Assateague Island and Ocean City-- just BREATHTAKING). I purchased a Groupon for skydive OC as a gift for my niece. She was visiting from out of town and really wanted to do this. I called them to make sure that there were times available. The person told me that I couldn't schedule a time on the phone. She told me that they had a spot available at 10:40 but I had to schedule a time online because I had a Groupon. I understood this so I went online to schedule a time. It took them around 4 days to confirm my appointment. I was a little disappointed but let it go due to my niece's excitement. They told us that we had to be there at 10:40. That was the check in time, so be sure to be there at 10:40. I made sure that we got there by 10:25. There were a few other people there. We filled out paperwork and were told to wait outside. We waited for 2.5 hours to be called. There were people that got there after us that got in quicker. If they were going to not take my niece up in the air until 1:00, why did we have to be there at 10:40? If they were going to take that long, all they had to do was tell us to pick another time. We were basing our whole day on this and we spent our entire morning waiting while everyone else went and while the instructors had their lunch! If you go here, please ask questions and make sure that your appointment time is actually open!!! I will give credit where it is due. The instructors that took my niece and her friend up, were nice and gave them a good experience in the air. read more

This was my 50th birthday present from my son! What a blast! We did the basic 8000 foot jump. It was fabulous. The views were amazing. Louie was a great instructor. Loved the accent! Make sure you get the pictures and video. They are expensive but so worth it. The jump was supposed to be at 10 am. We arrived on time. Completed the paperwork (10 minutes) watched a video (15 minutes) and were ready to go. We had to wait about ten minutes for the cloud cover to go away but then we were up up and away!!! Louie was awesome. He made this old lady feel comfortable in everything she was about to do. We will be back for sure!! read more

One of the best experiences ever! This was my second jump with this company and I enjoyed it even more than the first, which I didn't think was possible! Josh was my jumper and he was awesome! Made me feel at ease! He is great at what he does. All of the jumpers were awesome! I overheard some of the jumpers communicating with their customers.....reassuring them, putting fears to rest, and making them laugh. I thought that was pretty cool. These guys run a great operation! My 19 year old daughter was dying ...let me rephrase...begging for me to let her jump out of a plane. If I was to give the green light, I better man up and go with her. Really I just wanted to make sure she was going to be in the hands of professionals and indeed she was. The efficiency of the operation was great. We were signed in, trained, and geared up in less than an hour. Our Instructors were full time professionals with thousands of skydives who made us feel safe and ready to have the time of our lives. They were busy, but we never felt delayed or rushed. Freefalling and flying over the ocean was truly amazing. I landed first then watched her come gliding in right beside me. High fives and big smiles for hours after! It was a pricey adventure but what a great experience to share with my daughter. Only problem is...she has two younger brothers! Looks like I'll be doing this again! read more

This was my second skydive and my favorite. The view was incredible and the staff was very friendly and did a good job of making you feel comfortable. My friend and I paid for the 18k jump and after we landed we were informed that our jump was only 15k feet since they were not able to reach 18k due to the clouds and gave us a refund for the difference. I bought a pass to skydive during their Black Friday sale last year and finally got around to using it today. My experience was AWESOME! From check in to check out everything went incredibly smoothly. The front desk was friendly and very quick when going through all the paperwork and waivers that were needed to sign. After everything was processed, I met my instructor and we got suited up and ready to go. My guide, Warren, was as nice as can be and made sure I felt safe throughout the whole process. The instructions were very clear and he made the plane ride fun! The jump itself was incredible. There's no better place to sky dive than over the ocean! I realize that I might have come on a slower day, but I was in and out within 75 minutes... So much better than having a long wait like at some places. Overall I had an incredible time with SkyDive OC and would recommend it to anyone! Can't wait to jump again! read more
