It seems every time I come back there's something new or something changed here, like the new name changed from Capital Airsoft, or newer rentals, better gear, improving/changing layout of the 'map' (area you shoot in), different game plays.... I definitely like this place more now than my first visit here, as they try to keep things fresh by changing up the layout every so often, moving around objects and items that aren't permanently bolted to the floor or ceiling (doors, crates, windows, barrels, other hiding places, etc). The viewing area is also a huge improvement compared to before, sporting a couple new windows that peek into the semi-dark-lit gaming area, watching players getting picked off by opposing forces. Or, it's also a nice space to clear the tables and whip out some board games haha! The staff are also pretty good at suiting up us newbies, or having more intense intellectual conversations with the more seasoned players on upgrades, problems, solutions, and other cool stuff. Fun fact: The building also has another space on the main floor (Airsoft being upstairs), where wicked fencing-sword training and Krav Maga are happening! With an hour or so of practice, I got better. Hit the paper target too-my OWN! I took the advice in Carley's post for first-timers about wearing a long-sleeved shirt. Good advice. No injuries were sustained, but I was a bit stiff the next day. Definitely, posture made a difference in my shot, and figuring out how to not get your bust caught in the bow. :-D Robin Hood I am not, but for my first time, pretty successful. I understand there are bows for kids available to rent, and the youngest they've had was 4. FOUR! So any age, any ability. It's a great sport to try - you might just love it as much as we did. Looking forward to coming for another visit. Closed on Wednesdays, but check for hours. Weekdays are better for fewer people and quick turns.

Justin, the owner, was hilarious and easy to talk to. He gave great advise for a newbie like me and was patient as I came back a few times for additional help/tips. The prices are totally affordable for trying out Archery (as in under $20!) and I love that you can come back the same day for one price. Justin did warn that the weekends are jam packed and recommended that weekdays might be easier for newbies. Justin has a pretty impressive store set up with tons of stuff to look through whether looking for hunting supplies or fun. I couldn't help but take a picture of the 100% doe and buck pee in a can to text my 7 year old at home who was rolling on the floor laughing. But on a serious note, if archery is your thing, Sir Justin can hook you up! P.S. Schools come here for archery and kids as young as 4 can come here as he has smaller bows for them! I CANNOT wait to come back!

We have also tried their various coaches (Abe, Malik, David, Jeff, Jose) and they are all great - each with their own style and expertise. They bring the same high quality, high intensity, positive mind set to each of their training settings. And most important - the kids have fun doing it!

He is positive, brings in humour, and fun into the class. David challenges his students, but is supportive. He is flexible, working with a variety of different body types and abilities. He clearly breaks down technique, supports, and adapts as necessary to ensure his students are grasping the material. He not only explains why we do something, but also demonstrates context to further understanding. On a personal level, I have seen improvements in all aspects of my life. My confidence, fitness, mental health, and quality of life have improved greatly. No matter how terrible my day is, I am determined to go to class, because when I get there, I am smiling, laughing, and ready to go. As someone with anxiety and PTSD, Krav Maga with David and the Krav Maga family has been a safe and incredible place to be. No matter how anxious I am before class, my anxiety disappears after walking in. The course was well spaced over 5 days with a review on the 5th day before the test which was a really great feature in my opinion. Not only was the course well detailed and well explained, but offered more than just BASIC knowledge to help you in the real world! With the great staff at Tip Of Spear I was able to achieve a 100% with NO prior knowledge of the security industry! That is a reflection on them in my opinion! Over all, GREAT training facility with great staff! I will be recommending them to any and all who are looking for training!

I was somewhat unconvinced of my at the time, 6 year old's actual desire to be a part of a martial arts program given the often distracted and flighty nature of that age but with the free trial first class we gave it a shot. They seem to found the right amount of fun, games and achievement to mix with instruction on the physical skills and mental aspects of martial arts to keep him engaged and wanting to return. The instructors at the St Albert location really have a good approach with the kids.

We brought our own gear but it looked like they had gear you could purchase. We found it a bit pricey to drop in- we came at 7pm on a Thursday and were charged $15 each. I did notice online Monday to Friday from 4-7pm it only is supposed to cost $10 and no pricing is listed next to the 7-10pm time frame. As of July 1st no more group rates if you come with 4 or more people. They do have memberships but they are not unlimited- they are by the number of times you come. For example 10 sessions costs $90, 20 sessions costs $160. You can use it all year but if your a badminton lover and come a couple times every week you will use up these passes fast! The best time to go? Based on what their website says non-prime time is Monday-Friday noon-4pm $5.00 We did play against some strangers, I appreciate that people their are open to playing with new people. Water- thank goodness there is a water fountain. There are also vending machines and it looked like a gaming system in the lobby.

The actual course is nice. It is well kept, while I don't recall sand traps there is some water. Also the foliage is well kept, so you should be able to find your balls. It is a decent little course to learn on!!
