Here, you can get up to five different beers in one flight although you don't have to get all five. I tried one lighter one (2 AM Tacos--Mexican lager) and it was refreshing and delicious. I also tried four heavier, more alcoholic ones: Black's Peach (sour ale--it was sour indeed), Drink This or the Bees Die (Golden Honey--not bad), Sasquack (Belgian--very good), and St. Alfonsos (Imperial Stout at 12.8 ABV--this one was absolutely outstanding but better have a designated driver with you). This place is kid friendly and definitely dog friendly. In fact, there were probably more dogs than humans during our visit and I'm not complaining. Dogs are better than people, as we know. This was on a Friday night and the place was absolutely slammed, which was nice to see. No food available but you can bring in your own grub. Good luck with parking--either free street or residential parking are your only options. Excellent addition to Leucadia. This is a good spot.

Parking was a little bit challenging, but not too bad. Once inside, we found a tall table near the open doors to the outside so we could hear the band. The inside decor is cute and cozy. The menus were located on the table so we looked at the various options while we listened to the music. I decided on a red wine flight. You don't get to choose you just get one of each of the wines on the list. We went up to the counter to order and were attended to almost immediately. My flight of six 1 ounce pours was served, and I took it to the table. My other friends ordered a glass of wine each. The first of the two was attended to immediately as well, but the third was made to wait for a little bit longer for some reason, even though she was with us and next in line. The band was enjoyable and the sound was good. People were enjoying themselves and some dancing. I liked two of the wines I tried the rest were just ok. They don't serve food, but they did have a food truck in the back that looked good. We had already eaten, unfortunately, so we didn't try anything. The Carlsbad Strawberry company offers a fantastic U-Pick experience during strawberry season. For…read more$18 per adult, I got admissions and a reasonably sized bucket for picking strawberries. It's easy to fill up the bucket with ripe strawberries quick. Although it doesn't seem like there's a lot of strawberries at first glance, there's a lot as I walked through the rows of strawberry plants - that was part of the fun! One thing I wasn't prepared for was the dirt and how muddy the strawberry rows were. I'm not sure if it was always that wet. Perhaps it was because it rained earlier in the day? My shoes got extremely dirty and there wasn't a convenient way to wash it off there. I recommend wearing rain boots. In addition to strawberries, there was a sunflower maze and a separate section for a simple sunflower field. For those who don't want to worry about food, there's vendors and food trucks on site. They also sell jam and fresh strawberries at the stand, which doesn't require an admissions ticket. Service wasn't anything special. The staff there were efficient and friendly. Overall, I enjoyed my time there and I recommend visitors trying out the U-Pick experience!
