Beautiful memorial park. Beautiful and comfortable seating in their Memorial Hall / Reception area, with ample clean bathrooms and complementary water bottles. Their prices have sky rocketed over the years, but for the quality, the impeccable maintenance work, and the always friendly service, it's a great place for the burial / memorial service for your loved ones.

April is a busy month for Chinese families annually as the memorial day usually falls in this time. It is a bit of a trek from the City so weekend mornings are probably the best time to visit. My uncle and aunt are here. Growing close to them in their latter years, an annual trip here to remember them is a must for me. Unlike most predominantly Chinese cemeteries, this is further south in San Mateo, near highway 92 to the west. Though I have their plot location section memorized, I always have a difficult time in finding their location. The main reason is that there are no upright tombstones as the information stones are lay flat (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=jduntdr2RaoCD6sviTNj0g&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q). The nice part of this site is that it is on the quiet side and you don't get the crowds or rush of people parking their vehicles all over the place in varying directions. Another nice aspect is that there is a view on some sections of the cemetery overlooking the valley below ()https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=Q1dC0TiwHBZOri40C_QI7w&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q. The grounds are well kept as I didn't see any random trash in the section that I walked. Nor did I see dead flowers or planters scattered around like some of the places north of here. With most of the places filling up in Colma, I've noticed that they've built an Asian themed section uphill from my relatives' section (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=mck7TrMPNlVJ0BUUGUrqjw&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q). I still miss my uncle and aunt and wish I got to know them better while they were still here. Take care and please note that you are remembered by loved ones here. Thank you, Skylawn, for making a visit here seamless.

Green funerals? Like burial under a tree?

Hello Tracie. Thank you for your inquiry. We are proud to offer “green” options in our Funeral Home and in our cemetery. We have spaces available next to trees as well. However, please note that Skylawn cemetery regulations require a burial…

Is it possible to buy granite memorial outside n bring it in for ground burial? How abt the concrete vault? Their prices r very high. Has anyone done this before?

I was looking at mortuaries, alone with an unfamiliar duty in an unfamiliar location. I finally turned to Yelp to see what was posted about mortuaries I'd looked at when David from Honor Cremations popped up to say he thought he could help me. I truly felt an instant feeling of safety and trust. Sometimes we're lucky enough to get guidance. David is kind, sympathetic and morale. I spent the next several years feeling secure for when the time came. One of the few things I was able to feel secure about. When my husband did pass in the middle of the night in the veteran hospital hospice, they knew to call Honor. Because it might take time for Honor to arrive, the hospital wanted to take my husband to their mortuary and I refused saying we would wait for Honor. I trusted them and knew he'd be in good hands and those feelings were right. The gentleman who arrived to take my husband helped the nurse prepare him so when he came out of the room he was draped in the American flag. With everything else my husband and I went through with the change in care facilities, finances, and just 'handling it all' as my husband's condition worsened over the years, David's honesty and compassion took this step off my shoulders. I have purchased Honor Cremation for myself, so our children have the confidence to know everything will be taken care of. Thank you David and Honor Cremations. When so many unexpected doors closed with years-long tragedy, you offered a safe open door.

Losing a parent is incredibly hard, but they handled everything with such a high level of dignity and grace that it truly eased some of the burden for us. Communication: From the very first call, I felt heard and supported. They were incredibly patient with all of my questions and kept me updated every step of the way, which gave me so much peace of mind. The Process: I found their approach to be very modern, transparent, and straightforward. There was never any pressure or "salesy" feeling, just genuine empathy and a focus on what my mother and our family needed. The Memorial: They helped us navigate the details for her memorial with so much respect. Everything was handled professionally, allowing us to focus on honoring her memory rather than worrying about the logistics. I am so grateful to have had their guidance during this time. If you are looking for a team that treats your loved ones with true honor and provides a seamless, compassionate experience, I cannot recommend them highly enough. I also really appreciated the honesty in their business model. I know it could technically be cheaper if they did every single thing in-house, but they intentionally use outside sources for certain steps to ensure everything is handled by specialists. I actually felt like I got more value this way because I knew I was getting the best possible care at every stage. It's also worth noting for other families that they don't have an embalming service; they focus purely on a dignified, natural process which was exactly what we wanted for my mom. I am so grateful to have had their guidance during this time. If you are looking for a team that treats your loved ones with true honor and provides a seamless, compassionate experience, I cannot recommend them highly enough. Thank you, Honor Cremation, for taking such wonderful care of my mom.
