I hope you like it!" And so it seemed, with a number of patrons on a first-name basis with the counter staff (and, I believe, the owner). And like it, I did. On paper this would seem like a hole-in-the-wall: centrally located in a smallish city/largish town in the middle of Texas. Given the proximity of actual Mexico to the south, that would bode well for some traditional Mexican or Tex Mex. So much for stereotype: this Mexican place would be right at home near a university or in a larger setting or even NYC. Everything on the menu is fresh, a variety of seasonings both in the cooked meats and a wide range of toppings is offered. There are some unusual choices, like cheddar burrito, that I dare say seem almost "progressive." You place your order, select from ingredients along as assembly line, and get your food in a couple of minutes. It's a bit like Chipotle but with local flavor and nicer decor. I passed on the bowl in favor of a burrito. It was a hefty serving with every ingredient seeming as if it had been harvested and prepped just for me in the few minutes it took to prepare. It tasted that fresh. Be ready to select from an impressive variety of fillings: three types of rice, three types of burrito, chicken prepared various ways. Incidentally, the staff advised me to stand the girthy foil-encased blob on end and eat it down from the top (geeze, I may wanna reword that) rather than slice open the side and end up with a foil-flour bowl. Stopped through here while traveling home to Louisiana from Dallas, what a gem! So many options to choose from for burritos which I love. I got the brisket burrito and it was amazing. I was in town for business and stopped in Skyline per a recommendation. Like other burrito restaurants, you order at the counter and go through a line to pick out toppings. I got the salad which the cilantro lime chicken in a fried shell. My family also shared the chips and queso. The chips were delicious. I'm from the San Antonio area so the queso left something to be desired but it was still decent and my son enjoyed it. My salad was really good. The chicken was super flavorful and I enjoyed all the toppings. The star was the cilantro lime ranch. The food was good. I'd say the price is a little high as I can order the same thing at chipotle get a little bit more in my bowl and it'll be six dollars less than what I'd spend here. The part that ruined it for me was the cashier didn't charge me for my drink and until after I paid not a big deal I'll just pay for it separately, right. She didn't give me a receipt either time. Some people don't like receipt I get it I do like having my receipts so I asked for them and she said she had to reprint them, ok cool so I waited she only gave me the first receipt and not the drink one just not a big deal so I went on with my day. Turns out she gave herself a $9 tip on the first receipt I called the lady who answered said the manager would give me a call back, never got a call back. So I called again, again they said they'd give me a call back never did but somehow the money was returned back to my card no apologies just acted like they didn't do that. So I looked on like to see how much a large drink was since my card was charged almost 5 dollars so I called to ask how much the drinks are again they added a tip onto the drink thinking I wouldn't notice. All I gotta say is I won't be returning back. It's one thing to make a mistake and fix it . It's another to make the mistake. Act like you didn't. While finding refuge from the big city over a long weekend, we stumbled into this marvelous little restaurant. The people working there are very friendly, and the atmosphere is casually modern. The food is simply fresh and delicious. There's a great selection, but too much to overwhelm. All of the options looked amazing, but I figured I couldn't go wrong with my al pastor and cilantro rice. They do not skimp on portions, and overall it was a wonderful experience. It's a shame we are from out of town, because we would definitely be back more often otherwise. Our first takeout order from Skyline was a winner. I had the Burrito Bowl with pork and my wife had the Taco Salad with chicken. Both were terrific. The meat was tender and tasty and the ingredients were fresh and delicious. The on-line ordering through Chow Now was simple and efficient. The staff processed the order quickly since they have dedicated person who handles takeouts and delivery. When I picked up the order I noticed the clean clean and pleasant dining area. The staff all had on masks. At some point when the pandemic subsides and it is safe to dine in, we will give it a try. For now, we are glad to have such good takeout options. read more

Large-scale photos of cityscapes dot the walls and modern, brushed steel and brick interior. The food was delicious and tasted fresh. The staff were very friendly and eager to please. One person in my party went for an adventurous "freestyle" burrito; he told the employee what he DIDN'T like and received a custom, hefty burrito crafted specifically and to allow the flavors to play with each other. Jiminy! This place was amazing. I had the salad bowl with brisket and it was delicious. The brisket was tender and seasoned perfectly. All toppings were fresh and yummy. My husband had the nachos with brisket. He loved the homemade chips. But back to the brisket, the owner informed us that this recipe is his mother's. Way to go mom! We impulsively bought a chocolate mousse cupcake ( made by the owner's sister) and it was NOT mediocre. Delicious! Everything about this place was a home run. What a great find when visiting from Las Vegas. The place smelled like home cooked goodness upon opening the door. Greeted with a nice hello and big smile followed. Tempted by all the treats I had a few samples of meat. The cilantro lime chicken and pork was AMAZING! Out of this world, and full of flavor. Everything was scratched made and the house made sauces were DELICIOUS! Do not skip out on trying the fresh made watermelon juice! YUMMO!! Everything was sooooo FANTASTIC I brought the husband in for dinner on the same day! I was so full from the Nachos there was no way WE were cooking! The customer service was outstanding.
