No so good experience, except for my waitress, Melissa. I was dining alone. I was put in a back room. No one brought me chips, salsa, or green sauce. When Melissa brought my food out I still hadn't received my chips, etc. I even told the hostesses, Presley and Carol. They did not acknowledge. Melissa was great! She brought me everything I need to complete my meal. I'm glad there was somebody there wanting to work! read more

I was in Lufkin for a business trip and was so happy to see a Casa Ole!! The one I grew up going to was closed down years ago and I miss it! I sat down down and Laura, my waitress, greeted me almost immediately. I knew exactly what I wanted, the Laredo plate! While I waited I snacked on their salsa and green sauce and it was just as I remembered- SO GOOD!! Queso chip and chalupa followed and it was fresh and amazing. Then my cheese enchilada and rice and beans. Everything was great! Laura checked on me a few times and filled up my ice tea. Great experience and can't wait to come back!! I don't often leave reviews let alone bad reviews. This will be long so let me save you the trouble of reading it if you have a short attention span like me... eat somewhere else... like anywhere else. First the good... our server was great. Our water never dropped below half before he refilled it. The Diet Coke was well carbonated. Now the rest... there was water pouring in from the roof into a garbage can in the middle of the dining room. The forks were made of something only slightly thicker than tinfoil and almost completely flat. They were so bad they had a hard time cutting the cheese enchiladas... more on that later. The food was downright terrible. I ordered the signature dinner which seemed like a sample of things they would be good at. I was wrong. One of the dishes was just a deep fried, flat, corn tortilla with a ladle of nacho cheese on it with a few spoon fulls of rotilla tomatoes piled on top of that. The ground beef in the hard taco was so salty you could hardly eat it and the enchiladas were tough! Like the tortillas had been microwaved on high for about 7 minutes tough (or they were super stale). The sauce was acidic and bitter, and the cheese wasn't even fully melted... absolutely nothing to redeem them. Then there was what was billed as a tamale.... My grandmother rolled over in her grave, I'm certain of it. Granted it was supposed to have a TexMex chili on it but whatever it was was so burnt and bitter that whatever it was covering was a lost cause. The tostada was somehow worse than Taco Bell and the 3 other meals my fellow diners ordered were all equally as disastrous. It's been 3 hours since we ate dinner. We are all experiencing upset stomachs and genuine regret for trying this place. Like I said. Eat somewhere, anywhere, else. This was quite literally some of the worst food I have ever paid for eating out. read more

When my order was taken, I was never served chips and salsa while other patrons were. My water during my meal was never refilled. The place remained empty during my dining. I had not been here is some time and decided Mexican food was on my palette. I ordered the El Paso and was not disappointed. It came with a crunchy beef taco that was very full of seasoned ground beef. The toppings overfilled the taco. The dish also came with two cheese enchiladas. One was covered with cheese sauce and one covered with enchilada sauce. They were good, but I would love them if they were cheese and onion filled. Still very good. Sides of refried beans and Mexican rice. The rice was authentic and reminded me of rice I've had in Mexico. The chips and salsa were spot on. Fresh crunchy chips and salsa with a bite! Two stars for the food. I cannot comment on the service or anything as we did a takeout order. I had a beef burrito and my Fiance had the Chicken Fajita tacos. Neither blew us out of the water and at least what we ordered was nothing special. It didn't want to make us go sit down and have dinner in the restaurant. We have eaten at some authentic Mexican food trucks with better food and prices. It wasn't bad food there is just better around... Possibly will return if we have family in town and we want sit down Mexican. Otherwise i'm sticking with the food trucks. read more

If you like cheese then you are in the right place. All orders were covered in cheese with my order and my partner's order were drenched in cheese. I ordered the stuffed Avacado and my partner's order were so overly done with their cheese that we had to wade through to find the entree. We left the meal and took our check. Service was not bad but don't think you are going to get anything close to Mexican food. Get prepared! AC was not working either. read more

Do not eat here: the food has no taste, the salsa was nothing but red tomato paste and the green sauce was unidentifiable- the meat was not seasoned. Was highly overpriced and the atmosphere was not Mexican in the least (country legends anyone??) and the decor was of cowboys and oil fields. I'm from Houston- and even the worst eateries we have have more authentic food than this. It was just greasy melted imitation cheese on chips- the guacamole came out on our plates completely brown. No taste what so ever. The server was absolutely adorable though. He was so polite- couldn't have been even 17 though. Wonderful service from everyone we encountered. read more

If I could give them zero stars I would. Tonight's service was absolutely HORRIBLE!! The waitress acted like she could walk around the table to hand out drinks or food or tickets. My mother in law asked for a refill on her coffee. 20 minutes later she finally got her got coffee. Drinks were left unfilled. The waitress would disappear and when she reappear she wouldn't have what we asked for. Our food took over 45mins and my husband's sizzling plate was COLD of all things and the last plate to come out. Then when it was time to pay we asked for the check to be spilt, instead our waitress started helping a different table(that just sat down) and had to wait 10mins for our tickets. A dinner that should have taken hour n half took almost two n half hours!!! Horrible!!! PS- the waitress only had 3 tables, with mine being the most people. So not busy nothing my butt. read more

This restaurant used to be one of my favorites, but it has since gone down hill. When I call to place a to go order, the hostess has been rude and hung up on me at least 3 times...this has happened at least 4 separate occasions. The wait staff has always been friendly, but the hostess and checkout needs to be fired and or taught what customer service is suppose to look like. When you ask for their names, they make up fake, goofy names as to not get written up. The employees ruin it for me, however, food wise, I've never been disappointed. read more

I stopped here out of nostalgia because I worked there when I was in college. Granted, it is a chain - but instead of the food being adequate as expected- all produce items were sad and /or wilted with some brown spots. You have to assume that was all they had if they let it out of the kitchen. They could see it , right ? Finally- Stopped in the restroom on the way out and it was horrible- the stall walls looked sticky- I was afraid to let anything touch them. I told the cashier on the way out- and his response was along the lines of ...how would I know that? I said ... "Well now you know." If I could give no Stars I would. I grew up in lufkin and loved the restaurant. But in the last I'd say 5 years it has gone down hill at a fast rate! The food has become bland and the sauce taste like paste. Soggy quesadillas, slow service even when it's dead. Rude staff. It's disappointing to see what's become of what once was a great Restaurant. Not only is it not worth your time but not worth your money . And a party of 4 they added gratuity, when yo it restaurant is so bad you make sure you get a tip when you don't deserve one. I go to Casa Ole regularly and have had some good times there. I used to order Tequila Rose margaritas often, they were wonderful. I had recommended them to friends and it became a thing among my friends and acquaintances. I got away from it a while and went in there tonight and ordered one. It seemed that none of the bartenders knew how to make one. Until a long time waitress told them, I had two. I got my bill and they charged me $9 a piece for them. Now I happen to know that Tequila Rose is not expensive so we discussed the charge with the manager Anna, who could not have been more rude about it. I told her I wouldn't be back and she said I'm not worried about it anyway, their food isn't good enough to overcome all of that. read more

So Anna came back again and she said yes it's 1.99 charge it will come with refried beans and we tried to explain it on the menu it just said beans and we wanted charro beans . She stated to us it's 1.99 for charro beans if you don't want to pay for it then we will give you refried beans and Kelly arguing with us . What type of skills does she have NoNe! So she proceed if you didn't like the refried beans then you can just leave ... So that's what we did .. so people be aware of rude people. read more
