Chili Cheese Fries, Cheese Coney, & Diet Dr. Pepper

A location of of the beatin path, but well worth the detour! Friendly and helpful service and great tasting food in a very clean establishment. Tried the Chili Cheese Fries this time and was not disappointed. Also glad they have three diet soft drinks to choose from. This location rates amount the top of all the locations we have visited.

My colleague lives in Colorado and has never had a Skyline Chili, so I brought us here for lunch today. Excellent service and she was very helpful with getting a recommendation. I had my usual, a large bowl of chili with onions and cheese, no spaghetti or beans. Pretty much straight up keto diet right there. It was very, very good for Cincinnati-style chili which is definitely an unusual flavor. Most folks either like it or hate it. My colleague liked it but won't be having it again. I liked it but it's not a regular thing for me at all. [Review 11461 overall, 1239 of 2019.]

So let's start with the star rating isn't all for the food. The service is top notch. The server was great, gave us great recommendations and explained the hype. Had a friend visiting so of course, gotta try the local favs. The secret ingredient: cinnamon. If you like it, you will love this place. They have cheese for days and you cannot finish a plate, it's a lot of food. I got the potato with the 4 way (cheese, chili and onion). It wasn't the worst thing I've had but it's definitely an acquired taste. My friend got the local fav, the spaghetti.

In Miamisburg visiting family & my boss, who is from Ohio, told us we had to try Skyline. Being from Texas, the idea of chili on spaghetti is really out there, but hey, when in Rome.... I got to say it wasn't terrible. There chili is mild enough that it goes with spaghetti! I guess I was looking @ it through my Texan eyes. But hey, I'd definitely do it again!

Alright, I'm giving this place 3 stars with the understanding that maybe my taste buds are just not acclimated to Syline because I'm not a Cinci native....but I wasn't the biggest fan. For the out of towners, this chili is different than the chili I'm used to, it's thinner and more like a sauce than a soup, it also does have a sweet cinnamon-y taste to it which was an interesting flavor. The menu has pretty much any combonation of chili and cheese that you could imagine. Here's what I got... 3-way - Chili, spaghetti and a mountain of cheese! I did not like this combo but it's what they're known for so maybe it's just a personal preference... Coney - A little hot dog with chili and cheese. Not too shabby. Chili Dip - Cream cheese with chili and melted cheese served with tortilla chips. This was the best go the items I tried at Skyline. The melty cream cheese mixed with everything else was delicious and perfect to share with the table. Overall I would say when in Cinci (or nearby) give this place a try at least once and see what you think. The chili dip is the way to go when you're there if you ask me!

This place is so good! The Coney's (hot dogs) are so delicious. Everything about this place is great. The customer service is excellent as well. Very friendly staff and great food.

They have really expanded their menu since I was last here about 15 years ago. I couldn't make myself order anything but my usual, 4 way.

You just can't beat this place for some authentic Cincinnati chili. They even have gluten free pasta now. Next time, I'm gonna stray from my usual and order fries piled with chili.

In a restaurant this busy, with such a complex menu, with only 9 employees working, it is understandable that they are unable to keep the floor clean. Right? Maybe if they hired a tenth person to focus on cleaning the floor and allow the other nine employees ample time to talk to each other, it may appear a bit more kept. Just my opinion.

I ordered the onion rings as a side which is about a dollar up charge. I also ordered a single patty ButterBurger with cheese. Delivery was really quick. The Mushroom and Swiss burger came in its own box. Both burgers were very good. They were seasoned really well, fried good and quite appetizing. The hamburger bun is a little thicker than most burger joints. The onion rings were very good, fried perfectly and not overtly greasy. The onion rings come with your choice of sauce. I chose Culver's signature sauce which is a white sauce, mildly spicy, and has a pickle taste in my opinion. I highly recommend. Food is a little more than most fast food places, but everything was packaged carefully and it appears they take pride in the food that they serve.

Only…read morecomplaint about it is at looking at the ingredients online, it does have canola and/or soybean oil in the breading AND that it's fried in. The cashier was kinda pushy with the sauces. I asked if any sauces came with meals for free and she said no. All sauces are at least 35 cents. That does irritate me. Two things: 1st, that the menu doesn't list prices of sauces (at least list a price range instead of "sauces may have a fee") and 2nd, that the cashiers push them for every meal, every person. I wrote a great review last time we were here, but noticed another reviewer complained about being charged for the dips/sauces. I don't remember feeling pushed to order sauce the previous time, and I don't use much dip or sauce with my meals. But other fast-food restaurants automatically include dip/sauce with certain items like onion rings, so that is why I asked about a different sauce than the cashier was pushing- for my onion rings. But because of the extra cost, I chose not to order any sauce. It probably wouldn't have bothered me as much if I hadn't noticed how the cashier girl kept pushing the boom boom sauce to every single person in our party, but without mentioning the extra fee. With budgets getting tighter & tighter, we're having to be more careful with our money. Thirty-five cents (or more) may not seem like much, but If everyone in the family orders 1-2 sauces, it can (and has in the past) add several dollars to your bill that you weren't expecting. We've been eating out a LOT because of a renovation we're working on. We've eaten at this Culver's quite a few times and until yesterday, all the cashiers have been pleasant, helpful & cheerful. I can't say yesterday's cashier wasn't pleasant, but it felt forced. Like she wasn't truly a pleasant cheerful person or really didn't want to be there. Most other cashiers in the past have been extremely friendly & helpful & seem genuine. Anyway, between the extra, hidden costs of sauces for your meal, the overall cost of eating out (anywhere; not just here) and looking at the ingredients lists online and (not surprisingly) finding MANY MANY food products containing and/or being fried in soybean and canola oils, we will be making eating out a rare thing ASAP- for out budget and our health! But the food does taste good. And I was pleasantly surprised to see ACTUAL BUTTER. Butter in the buns and if you get a butter packet, it's actually butter- not margarine or a blend with crappy oils. So that's a positive.

Everything was packed carefully in a sealed paper bag. The Chili Cheese Big Dog is a thick hot dog placed between what a believe is sour dough bread lightly toasted. It is a bit messy but it's very good and well worth the effort. The Smash Tots were fried really good and not greasy at all. I ate the Double All-American Smash burger later but it was good as well. Smashburger does allow you to customize your burgers and I liked that. I removed red onions and added extra pickles! Overall, really great experience. The Greek-Style Philly Cheesesteak sandwich, onion rings, and mozzarella cheese sticks were packed in styrofoam containers. The Tzatziki sauce for the sandwich and marinara sauce for the mozzarella cheese sticks were placed in plastic containers which were then placed in a small paper bag. Items were then placed in a big paper bag that was stapled together. Food was packed very well. The Greek-Style Philly Cheesesteak is basically gyro-style lamb meat but instead of placing it in pita bread it is put in a submarine-sandwich style roll with cheese on top. I picked provolone cheese. The sandwich was overflowing with a good amount of gyro meat, but the lettuce and tomatoes didn't seem very fresh. I did eat one half of it, and the meat was good, but if I ever order from here again, I would get the sandwich without the lettuce and tomatoes. The bread on the sandwich was pretty good though. The onion rings were a disappointment. They were soggy to me. Not much of a crunch and it didn't seem they were freshly cooked. The mozzarella cheese sticks were really good. Out of everything in my order, these seemed to be the best. Overall, I would not recommend. I liked the idea of gyro meat on a submarine sandwich bun, but the lettuce and tomatoes didn't seem fresh. Onion rings, likewise, were not very good. They were soggy and underwhelming.
