I understand mistakes can be made, but it's always how an establishment deals with that mistake that matters. They handled it with grace and kindness, and they fixed it. I've been to different Five Guys before. First time at the Rookwood Location. The Cheese Burger was delicious. I loaded it up with everything. I could probably eat two, as it was so good. I'm not sure about the way they serve up the fries. They give you an absolutely ridiculous amount of french fries. I mean, I get it, it's their "thing," but it's absurd. I wonder how many pounds of fries are thrown away at each location every day? I got a regular size fry and that should be a cup of fries. I never even made it to the cup after filling up on all the extras they dump in the bag. I mean, I'm 6'4", 250, with a big appetite, and if I can't finish a regular order of fries, then it is an excessive amount. It almost makes me feel guilty somehow, I don't like throwing food away when there are people starving around the world and right here at home. What makes this franchise location better than others is the friendly staff. They're helpful and happy. Food is what you'd expect from Five Guys. The burgers are consistently good and you get a list of free toppings to choose from. The Jr size burgers are good for a normal person and a regular size serving. If you're ambitious and hungry/hangry go for the regular size. Fries are fresh cut potatoes but crispy and not soft like in n out fries. You can share a small between two people if you're already getting a burger each. The hot dogs are standard and nothing extraordinary but they're good and you still get all the topping options to make it a loaded bun. Don't forget some peanuts while you're waiting for your order. They're still free and fun to crack open and enjoy. Easy to find off the freeway in Rookwood and ample parking. read more

For the most part, I try to avoid writing up the national chains. But Five Guys' recent Cincinnati invasion has kicked up big clouds of local dust and has gotten some attention on Yelp and elsewhere, so I'm filing my take: The DC-area-based Five Guys seems to be viewed by burger connoisseurs as a bit of an East Coast answer to the West Coast's In-n-Out chain: fresh ground beef, hand-cut fries, etc. (In-n-Out isn't such a great predictor in my estimation, since I thought In-n-Out was hugely overrated, based on a single visit in SoCal.) I'll say this: Five Guys' double-stacked burgers, which are under $5 without cheese, are pretty great junk-food eating for the price. (The "small" single-stack version is still a pretty good size and is under $4.) A big sloppy mess when ordered with everything (make sure you get grilled onions, at least), they are a damn sight better than the fast-food burger competition (McD's, BK, et al.). Five Guys are also better than plenty of bar-food burgers you'll get around town, although certainly not all of them. Based on a couple of visits, service seems pretty fast for how chaotic this place can be. Major annoyance: The fries, which are very good, come only in gargantuan portions, at gargantuan prices (upwards of three dollars for a "regular" size). My wife and I can barely finish even the smaller size. God knows what a solo diner is supposed to do, other than eat his or her burger with a side of free peanuts (which are a nice bonus). Minor annoyances: --"Soft" drinks only. --The sole decor, besides the gleaming red and white tile, consists of newspaper reviews and notices from all over the United States, blustering about how great Five Guys is. [TLDR]Decently good fast food burgers with an unjustified high price and oversized portions[/TLDR] I know I am in the minority here, but for the most part, I am unimpressed (and even a little peeved) by this fast food hamburger joint There are without a doubt some things I do definitely like here - the simplicity of the menu choices (burgers, dogs, and fries, more or less), the fact that I can watch my burger cooked in the open grill area; and I even like the naming of where today's potatoes come from, even though the answer to that unasked question isn't particularly meaningful to me But thats pretty much it I do think that the burgers are a step or two up in quality from some fast food burger joints, but I also think the cost is 2 or 3 steps higher. I think part of the problem here is all the extras that are thrown in for free. Their cost is built into the price of the basic unadorned burger - but few if any folks get all these toppings. So the burgers seem to be priced with all toppings, even though the typical customer - myself included - wont get them all. I dislike that the smallest fry costs twice as much as it does elsewhere, and you get enough fries for 3 people. Charge me less and give me a single human's worth of fries. Call it a mini, since you already offer a waaay-to-big "small". Speaking of size - and yes, size does matter, ya'll - I am a little annoyed that the "little" burger is more than enough for most folks for lunch, and the "regular" burger is borderline glutton territory. I think this is misleading at best and a little insulting at worst - laugh if you must, but it is almost like they are saying "what, you aren't man enough to handle a regular? You're getting a little (kids) burger? What kind of wimp are you?". Full Disclosure: I am by this thinking a huge wimp. Little burger and no fries for me unless I am sharing with a fellow diner or three. Five Guys is just delicious. They make a fantastic, greasy, expensive product. Yes, greasy but so naughtily worth it and satisfying. Expensive, yes, but just realize what you're ordering from their very limited menu: a normal appetite would be fine splitting a fry (get the Cajun-seasoned ones, yum!) and getting the "small" burger (the regulars are honkin' huge and double-layered). The menu is VERY limited, nothing vegetarian-friendly or health-conscious, but what FG offers is spot-on. I love their juicy, delicious bacon-cheeseburger with grilled jalapenos, onions and mushrooms! And the fresh-fried, skin-on Cajun fries are scrumptious. Lunch will easily run you half a day's calories (or more in my case ) and +$10, but the product is delicious and quality. If you're trying to be SLIGHTLY healthier then there is the option to have a lettuce-wrapped burger or a "burger-in-a-bowl" which I sometimes do. However I typically think you may as well go all out and be completely mad and order the works. It was 30 minutes till close and they had a crowd of probably 15 people waiting on orders, doordash and Uber eats were waiting, and a line of people to the door waiting to order as well. Parking was a breeze due to the expansive lot and despite the long line, everyone was hustlin' to get orders out.
