He appeared to have a Van with ladders and tools but decided to use my ladder, btw improperly, leanning it against the wall and stepping on another workers vacuum to support himself. It took him more than 45 minutes to figure our how best to disconnect the chimney and inert his brush. He also left me a mess of sutt all other the boiler room. I hope i never see this idiot again.

I called my local plumber, CJM, because our hot water was out. This was June 2025 and our furnace…read moreheats an indirect hot water heater. CJM said the issue was likely a nest or some sort of clog in the chimney so, they recommended Mike Duran from Complete Chimney. Mike came the next day and after looking at my furnace where it exhausted into the chimney told me there were signs of breakdown so the only way to fix it was with a stainless steel liner. He said, "I'm sorry, they are expensive but I only go with the best material." Not knowing about this sort of stuff I said ok I need hot water and for the negative pressure flowing into my basement to stop. A week later Mike shows up without a helper (he said he no showed) and he proceeded to install the liner without assistance. I heard the metal scrapping hard against my gutter and as you can see in the photo below he did a horrible job capping it off. At the end of the day he wanted to talk to me about music and his gigs. This was because I mentioned my son plays guitar, he saw the guitar while working. Maybe quit your day job Mike?? After and hour a two he calls me into the basement and says the liner didn't fix the negative pressure issue. I said ok, what else does he think is causing it. After another two hours I can see is tired and now says he is going to leave... even though I still have the same issue and honestly even worse. We had a mini home reno done after that and Mike said he was unable to come because he was in the hospital. I said to focus on his health but he said the photo he send me was old and he was home. So for the rest of 2025 we suffered in the heat with a negative pressure issue. During the fall and winter it resolved but only to come roaring back again June 2026. When I texted Mike to see what he thought he replied with a nasty message and suggested I seek out someone more qualified. Baffled, I texted him back that I'm not upset but I just need some help. I told him to call me the next day, he said he would at 9:30am. He did not so I called at 10am we had normal conversation and I asked if he could just reach out to anyone he might now that had an idea for a fix. We ended the call without issue and I never herd from him again. Avoid this crook at all costs and honestly I'm disappointed in CJM for putting me in touch with this guy.
