The receptionist repeated that I was there for a "repeat," but their definition seemed to go beyond what a customer would reasonably expect. In the past, they also took photos before starting, but this time there was no consultation or photos--just being placed in a room to wait. She passed the phone to another person, that person said I would have to do a facial and the "neck and chest" would be an "add-on" service (the facial was required). She shared there currently was a promotion for the first laser facial at $50, which I thought was great. She advised to book online and said I could also do it through yelp, just let us know when you're here that you want to add the neck and chest. I scheduled my laser facial. I drove from Riverside to Rancho, I arrived about 13 mins early (I was advised to be there 10 mins prior). When I checked in, I explained I was there for a laser facial and wanted to add the neck and chest laser treatment. I clarified my primary concern was the hyperpigmentation on my neck. She said I couldnt do the neck and chest during my first appointment- that I first had to do the facial only... and I would have to book a second facial, that time I could add the neck and chest. I explained to her what I was advised over the phone a few days ago when I called. She agreed to look into it some more, I waited for her to read some material on her screen. And then she tells me that I in fact can add the neck and chest during the first facial, but not today. They would need an additional 15 minutes for the neck and chest so it couldnt be done today during my laser facial appointment (it was still early afternoon and they close at 7pm). So we couldnt proceed if I wanted the neck and chest. This is beyond disappointing, I was really looking forward to the entire experience. Ive heard great things about Skin Laundry and Im into skin care. I even thought, they might win me over and I will end up being a regular customer... but no, this was a major inconvenience! Very inconsiderate of one's time and effort. And for the staff to not be certain of their services! Highly doubt this happens in the Newport Beach location! I wanted to love this place but totally the customer service I expected. And enough for me to NOT return. Probably saving myself from some bs anyway.

I've gotten sugared by her before and wasn't really satisfied with my service as I realized I had a few open cuts / wounds due to the pulling of sensitive, thin skin way down there. So today my service was going well, we were having a great conversation then all of sudden a sugar pull and we both went dead silent for a few minutes. I already knew something went wrong. When we were done I knew I had some cuts down there. When I got home to pee I saw it. My lips looked like it had a big, open, popped pimple in it. And around it was pink and tender, like a cut. This made it difficult to wipe. I would post a picture but due to the area it is at, I am unable to. I would like to speak to a manager regarding this issues because this isn't the first time that's happened to me.

For the facial, I had on a bit of mascara (not waterproof) and it survived the apocalypse! Just kept getting rubbed around my face. Now the hair: I'm Black, I have curly hair, and I was not prepared for the tugging and pulling during the detangling. At one point a loose hair just stuck to my face and stayed there. We bonded. Then the nail scratching started. As a healthcare worker, I was internally screaming. But I stayed strong. They asked my partner (straight hair) if he wanted styling. Me? They just grabbed the blow dryer and went to town. I don't use heat! Walked in with lucious curls, walked out with a puff ball. No warning, no discussion, round brush chaos was my fate. Overall? I felt relaxed until that blow dryer came out. Then I was just overwhelmed with a side of big fluff. They were extremely sweet though! Might come back. Might not. 3/5 would recommend if you're brave, have straight hair, maybe some low hair expectations, and don't mind a little curtain peek-a-boo!
