I was connecting onwards to a US-bound flight but before I went through preclearance I had time to detour to the International side of the airport near D52 and take a break at the Skyteam Lounge. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This lounge is certainly more spacious than the Plaza Premium lounge on the Transborder side.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was decent, including a hot food bar featuring wonton noodles and Siu Mai among other things. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is plenty of seating in the open air mezzanine and showers too.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you have Skyteam status, definitely consider dropping in. If you're Priority Pass, I believe you must be traveling international to use it. read more

I use my priority pass to enter plus two guests. You'll be required to show your membership card/barcode (from app) and everyone's boarding pass to enter. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have a weird layout where near the entrance there is a seating area and then near the food are tables.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is not a huge lounge.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You can stay up to 4 hours and they do not allow for re-entry. There is a bathroom (separate men and women) and two private shower rooms inside the lounge. We went at 10:30 which is at the end of their breakfast. The eggs and sausage tasted like the breakfast menu at McDonalds. The tater tots were crispy and they also had rice porridge. They have a variety of soft drinks, beers and two coffee machines that brews various types of coffee drinks (hot cocoa too). The coffee wasn't that strong though. At 11am is when they switch out the breakfast menu and start the noodle bar. At the noodle bar, they serve hot wonton soup (shrimp and pork wonton), cold Taiwanese noodle and pork shumai (dumplings). I was able to order for two people; two wonton soups and two orders of dumplings. Each order of dumplings comes with 2 pieces so if you want more than two, just order 2 of them and you'll get 4. You can get the wonton noodle soup as 'spicy' but it is not spicy at all so try it out. The broth is hearty although the noodle itself was bland (doesn't soak up the flavor of the soup). Just eat with the soup. The menu has sandwiches written but those are the ones out for grabs so just order the above three from the noodle station. The sandwiches/wraps were dry and not tasty at all so I wouldn't recommend eating them. For lunch, they switch out the tater tots, eggs and sausage to ravioli with pesto, veggies, and mango chicken. The ravioli pesto sauce was very salty so try it on the side before drenching the raviolis with it. Overall, I would come for the noodle soup and dumplings but not for breakfast. The staff kept the area clean and came over often to take away the plates. It is also one of the rare lounges that has trays for you to carry your dishes. read more

The main dishes today were ravioli, finger sandwiches, wraps, chicken, tomato bisque. 2 types is East Asian noodle dishes and pork dumpings. I had stood in front of her for 30 seconds before she looked to acknowledge my presence. The previous customer had just left and gone up to the lounge and I approached the desk right after the previous customer stepped away. 2. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The bathroom area is unacceptable for an airport lounge. The walls along hallway leading up to the bathrooms and showers are lined with scratches and peeled paints.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Signs asking patrons to maintain cleanliness of the bathrooms in both English and Mandarin are Scotch-taped on the back of the doors to the stalls. The languages of the messages are provincial and are of those you would expect to see in a rural village[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Exposed glue can be seen along the rims of the receptacles by the sinks. The spout of one of the faucets has a clear plastic flow control put on.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I could not see myself stepping into the showers. I was looking forward to visiting the SkyTeam Lounge on my layover in Vancouver. Friendly staff (of course, it's Canada) and easy to find. Love how open and airy the lounge is. Got here around 10am. It was a moderately busy Friday morning. Plenty of breakfast options and strong Wi-Fi to get work done before the famous noodle bar opened at 11am. I was impressed by the amount of alcohol available, from a beer fridge to a wine bar. The noodle bar was also fun! The line gets long but moves fast. Another big win: showers available! Since I came in early, I didn't have to wait. It wasn't the fanciest shower I've seen in a lounge, but it was clean, came with towels, and did the job. A nice, if small lounge to while away a few hours. Small capacity and relaxed ambiance but also limited seating and facilities. I arrived around 3:30 for a 6:30 flight and found their lounge to be fairly quiet except for one seating area. To their credit they do have a few seating areas to explore. There are no magazines or tv offered for entertainment but plenty of places to plugin your phone or laptop and good lighting. Their service was a mixed bag. Early on I asked if one of their curries had seafood in it. It took almost ten minutes to get an answer - no exaggeration - only to find out it was vegetarian. Speaking of food, today they have a salad bar, some rice and noodles, a green curry and some chicken and pasta. The curry was nice and the mini cookies I tried were also delicious. Beer and soft drinks are in the fridge - self serve - and there's a separate bar area for wine and mixed drinks - though there's no sign posting to be found nor someone to greet you and get your acquainted. I did have my plates promptly removed and also felt safe enough to go to the buffet and leave my bags by my seat, so that's good. Overall, when it's quiet, it's a nice place to be, but busy I'm not sure I would pay the entrance fee - it's nothing special. read more

the best perk of being a mastercard world elite member is the access to four airport lounges a year. this lounge is located at the international terminal, after security check, near boarding gate 53, in the west wing of the concourse. its available 24 hours, with a max stay of four hours. I would recommend coming to this lounge before your flight in YVR. [[HIGHLIGHT]]You take an elevator to eat above on the second level there's some tables to eat at and comfy chairs to sit on.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We got in using lounge pass and I thought it was a good buffet experience for breakfast they had taters, eggs and sausage. I also like that they had some Asian food like congee, shui mai, wonton noodle soup and dry like tan tan noodles but the Asian food was not that good, just not too flavourful. I did like the variety though and thought it was good experience for the first time especially if you are taking a long flight and come to the airport early. The Skyteam Lounge has a lot of seating, though none of it is anything I'd want to lounge in for more than my meal when the rest of the airport has more comfy seating. It's open til 1, has a decent selection of Asian food, good selection of non-alcoholic drinks, and wasn't too crowded at night. It wasn't anything too amazing, but when the only other options are Subway with a line of 20+ people at night, this place is a nice option. Priority Pass is accepted. read more

A solid lounge that is accessible to premium class passengers on Sky Team Airlines or Priority Pass card holders. Located in the Mezzanine Area of Vancouver's International Airport(YVR) this lounge is easy to find. The lounge served self served foods, a made to order noodle bar, and complimentary drinks. While the service is a bit hectic and can be hit or miss, the food is on par with many other Airline lounges. I enjoyed the fact that this lounge served meals rather than small bites. I'm grateful there's a place we can truly relax before our flight. This was my first time in this lounge and I was truly impressed!

Tonight is the first time I am taking a red eye flight. I'm traveling from Vancouver to Mexico City so it will be a long flight. I arrived at the airport early for international flights as required. I was so happy to find this lounge available, and open 24 hours. My other lounge option would be closing in about 45 minutes so this was a welcomed treat. The lounge is very modern, and extremely spacious with tons of charging opportunities. The food options are a bit limited but there are some finger sandwiches and some hot dishes. (I think the noodle bar the other reviewer mentioned was closed for the day). There is an excellent wine selection and a full bar. I would def choose this lounge again. QUICK UPDATE: I just went back for a club soda and the noodle bar was opened and serving. So I think this is is a 24 hour noodle bar, with breaks, of course. read more

Wow the best lounge that I have ever been to. We have been to several lounges around the world and this one by far was the most memorable and best. Yes, they don't have much seating but we found a place to sit. It is hard to find a seat with enough space to put your luggage so this lounge is not too spacious and a little crowded. BUT, the food was amazing. I think I got a bowl of wanton noodles. Someone was in the kitchen individually preparing these noodles to your order. I saw them add the veggies and all the toppings. Skyteam lounge at D53 is far inferior compared to Air Canada's lounge at International dept gates. We had to use Skyteam due to flying Business class with AF. The food is so so, the alcoholic drinks lack in every way ...no cocktails, no prosecos, and the ladies working the bar have no ideas what names of drinks are! We pay over $6000CAD pp in business class and the indo canadian cook at the ramen bar refused to give us 6 wontons!! She would only give us 4 wontons! Are you kidding me quibbling over 2 wontons when a family of 3 adults pay over $18000CAD for 3 Business class tickets over 2 wontons! It just meant more inconvenience to the passengers in returning a second time and ask for 2 more wontons! instead of being relaxed in the lounge before our flight, this particular employee ruined it for us. Skyteam motto is to save "energy" so how is it saving energy when 2 sets of bowls and cutlery have to be washed now! Staff needs to be better trained to assess each case uniquely. It is unfortunate that many of the staff working at this Skyteam lounge at D53 are very limited in their reasoning skills and not able to assess each case separately. The seating in the lounge is very uncomfortable with very few tables and many are just chairs along the wall. Not a lounge I would recommend. read more

Came here during March 2019 and it was right during peak hours. Although it was fairly crowded, we were able to snag a few spots by the outlets. They have an assortment of baked goods that are laid out for you to enjoy, but their made to order noodle bar is probably the busiest section of all (minus the wine bar!). As soon as it opened, orders piled in right away. They did miss mine, so I wrote another ticket (I chose the fishballs over the pork wontons) and tossed it into the pile; it was done within five minutes or so. Super speedy service for the amount of people who were served. Comfortable seats and people came by often to clear off our plates. They also handed out mini bottles of water that more travel friendly than what you would get at stores. Washrooms, however, could have used more cleaning; it doesn't help that there are very limited washrooms too... read more
