Go here! Just a thirty minute drive from Fenton and a great reason to be outside for just a few hours. I went here last night to see the Jurassic World/Pitch Perfect 2 movie. We pulled in 45 minutes before the show and got one of the last spaces. I recommend bringing a blanket (it gets chilly by midnight), plenty of food, and comfy seating. They are having deals on Groupon all the time, though some are only good Sunday-Thursday (lesson learned). Even without a Groupon, it's just ten dollars an adult, so not bad for a date night! read more

I left in quite a huff last night and got my money back. They had 70+ jeeps come in ahead of the line and took the entire front two rows which are the best ones and the back two where suvs park. I feel like a kid again whenever I go to the drive-in and Skyview delivers! The larger than life screens and sound quality via the radio were pretty good. Parking was fairly easy even though I showed up a little late and the first feature had already started. Tailgating is encouraged so I did as the Jones do. Brought a picnic, beverages and blankets and hunkered down for a two movie adventure. Had a great time and look forward to another drive-in moment when I get back to the STL. read more

I love this place. I have been twice for the double feature and it is just such a fun experience. I don't recommend coming on opening weekend for a big movie (you will end up waiting in line for over an hour and EVERYONE tries to cut in so get there early!) but it is a great way to watch a movie. The picture quality is quite good and they have more than enough spots for all of the cars. It is only $9 to see two movies, who can argue with that? It is great being able to bring your own food, alcohol and chairs and blankets and not being afraid to talk to your friends during the movie. There is a Schnuck's next door that is easy enough to run over to to get food and drinks but there is also a concession stand selling all of the staples. Be sure to bring a good radio because that really determines how good of a movie going experience you have. I had never been to a drive-in movie theatre before so my boyfriend (at that time) loaded up the cooler bought some junk food and we drove the hatchback to Skyview. It was bring-your-dog-to-the-drive-in day! We LOVE dogs so this was a huge bonus. I don't remember what movies we saw that day, but have been back over the summer ever since.... Its $10 per adult (for two movies) and you can tune your cars radio to the station they provide. We normally open the hatchback pull down the back seats and lay blankets and pillows and snuggle up to watch the movies! Nice way to spend a lazy summer evening! Bathrooms are decent. When they tore down our Drive-In for a shopping center ( God knows we need More of those for pple to destroy like all the others...) I found out there was a Drive-In in Belleville..... We went there just last night and had a blast.... It was a bit on the cool side BUT Id rather have that than deal with the bugs, heat and sweat!!! You can always wrap up in a blankie or stay in the car. You do have to bring a radio or have one that doesnt keep your cars' lights on the whole time.....If for some reason your battery dies during the second movie, they do have jumper service to get you back up n running!! The concession stand is OK...... The food is exactly what you'd expect....simple but will do. You should bring a cooler, thermos and junk food if you dont want to empty your pockets. :-) I think they should extend the season and show some early Christmas Movies!!! Their website says that after the first movie you are allowed to switch screens if there is an open spot. So, we decided to switch to watch the movie that we actually wanted to see. The employee decided to stand in front of my car and then continue to speak to me with the rudest attitude telling me that I could not switch even though I saw about 20 open spots behind him all while standing there with his arms crossed acting like he owned the place. read more

The last time I was at the drive in was for Terminator 2 outside of Chicago and we just had to bring the kids here to see a double header Hotel Transylvania 3/ Incredibles 2. Its a great place for the kids (they have a playground) and its definitely a cool, nostalgic kind of place. Be advised, cash only at the box office and no indoor bathrooms. The port o potty's are nasty. You definitely may not want to come if it's really hot because you can't run your vehicle. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Sure the concept is great but when a concession stand worker is so power hungry that she yells at a patron, that's not ok. Sure, I had a Groupon but the fact that the worker who checked my Groupon at the box office didn't give me the "golden ticket" to receive my free large popcorn, that's on them, not me. Overall, this is usually a good experience and you can't beat $20 for two adults and four kids to see two new movies. But, on my last visit we encountered an EXTREMELY rude employee. He made some very rude comments to my daughter-in-law and me. He was "reprimanding" me for not giving him both of my bags of popcorn at the same time and made no eye contact while mumbling these extremely rude comments while buttering the bags. I have never been treated so rudely in my entire life at a place of business. His attitude basically took all the fun out of our experience. Took the wife here (finally) to catch a horror flick towards the end of the season. I was also quite excited as I had never experienced a drive-in movie prior to my Skyview visit. I also had an old Groupon, which split the cost of the tickets. This was one of the better movie going experiences I've had in a while - mainly because it was cost-efficient, unique, and ultimately different than the traditional indoor theater experience. Here are a few reasons why you should check them out if you are an avid movie goer: 1. You can get there early, get a nice spot, and set up before darkness sets in and the movie starts. Some folks even set up chairs outside their vehicle and cozy up for the show. People get creative - turn those hatchbacks, truck beds, and trunks into seating/lounging areas. 2. They allow patrons to bring anything you heart desires into the venue - food, drinks, blankets, dogs, you name it! The other bonus to this is they allow patrons to shop at the Schnucks (next door) - you simply leave with your ticket stub and then show it at the gate for re-entry. 3. They have concessions and onsite restrooms. You don't have to buy food there, but I recommend it in support of the staff and venue. 4. The movies are broadcast via FM radio. The sound quality is spectacular - especially with no outside noise interference. 5. There are two screens with two different show times each night, and the movie schedule is posted online (and sent via email). The Skyview season just ended a couple weeks back, but they will reopen in the spring. I definitely recommend checking it out - great place for a nice, relaxing date. It's very easy to find and a mere 20-25 from downtown STL. It's cheap considering all you have to truly pay for are the movie tickets. The Skyview Drive-In is a staple for my family in summer. I used to go to the drive-in as a child and I can now share that same wonderful old-school experience with my children. You get 2 movies for one price. Currently there are 2 screens, but a third is coming in. More movies!!! You can bring in food and drink, but there is a concession stand available as well. They do have the BEST fries!!! Come early to get a good spot and bring your lawn chairs and blankets to stay late. They do not have the hanging speakers anymore, instead a dedicated AM station is used. The better your speakers, the better the sound. Come have an AWESOME time at the drive in!! read more

After reading the below reply sent to the Deaf & Hard of Hearing community regarding the request to have one or two weekend nights per month open captioned, I would like to point out that YOU, Skyview Drive-In, endangered your own customer base with this poor customer service and business sense. I, a hearing person, will not visit your theater in the future. This is a result of you, not because of captions which I can easily ignore if I so desire. Captions do not hinder me from watching a movie or hearing the words. Not having them does, however, hinder the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community from enjoying movies. "We never showed open captions twice per week. When we started in late July, it was on Thursday. When we went to weekends only, we moved it to Sunday. After Labor Day, we moved it to Friday because we were open only Friday and Saturday. The showing of open caption movies will continue on Thursday only during the summer. When we started doing this last year, I was told that it was a mistake because once you give someone something that they want, it wouldn't be long before they want more. You are being unfair asking us to endanger our current customer base on the busiest nights of the week. We will NOT show open captioned movies on Friday or Saturday during the summer season." read more

We have been to Skyview many times, and a reoccurring theme is a problem with the restrooms. Whether it's flooding or a single stall out of order there is always something wrong. On this visit they were completely out of order and the only option were portable Johnny on the Spot, disgusting, dirty out houses. At least they had hand washing stations, right? Nope. How are patrons supposed to wash their hands prior to enjoying their popcorn or snacks? Not to mention the pile of raw waste and feminine products on the grass along the drive way to the box office that we encountered when waiting in line to get in. Just had a horrible experience here. After having 2 attendants tell us to park in a certain spot, we were rudely asked to move as the movie was starting. Had to drive around the lot for 10 minutes to find another spot. All of this after driving 45 minutes and arriving a half hour before show time. Expecting this to be a great first time experience for my young kids and can't believe how disappointed. It's a shame this is the only game in town, but I can't see future generations coming if this is how they get treated. read more

Went to see Captain Marvel and Endgame and this is the only way I'm going to be watching movies for the rest of the spring,summer until they close! Very organized,but get there early to avoid lines and just setup and relax. I'm wondering how far in advance they announce the weeks movies because I'll be planning my summer around them. this was my first time at a drive-in. it's a great retro date night spot (also very family friendly)! it's a large parking lot with two large screens. you listen to the audio through the radio- both audio and visual quality were great. there's a concession stand to get your popcorn fix. four movies are shown (two per screen) a night and you can stay for both. i'm looking forward to going back! read more

We just went to see Jungle Book (for the first time) and Zootopia (for the second time), and I was pleasantly surprised that they used caption for both films! Being someone who has had difficulty in the past hearing everything and then waiting for the film to come out on DVD, it was great that I didn't have to miss anything! I've been using caption for years, and it's just second nature. It didn't detract from the films and wasn't even in the middle of the screen, so people could still watch the movie and listen to it if they weren't used to the captions. The price is great, getting two films for $10 per adult and the concession wasn't too bad either with the price being around $14 for two medium drinks and the largest popcorn we saw. We had a great night and look forward to going back some time this season. read more

I unfortunately am writing a negative review after years of coming to SkyView. I came here with 3 vehicles full of people. We all parked in a row by the orange poles but one of our vehicles was shorter and we did receive a white paper for that one but thought it wouldn't be blocking anyone so we parked it by an orange pole. A kid worker came over and said we had to move it. No problem I thought but just explained to him that we were wanting to be together. He was a punk!!! He proceeded to tell me that he doesn't understand what I didn't understand and gave me attitude. I told him upfront we would move but his attitude sucked!!! Talked to a manager and now I know where he got the attitude from!! Thought a place that has been around so long would know what customer service was. Unfortunately he did not and I will be sure and tell everybody I know about the terrible customer service!! So sad. read more

The only reason I'm giving any stars at all are because of the old timey feel of going to a drive in. Compared to the other drive in still in this area, it is way more expensive and the service is not up to par. The staff was rude, and there was clearly a lack of communication between coworkers. The ticket booth attendants were slow, but that wasn't a big deal- the show I went to was opening weekend. Once we got in and go our parking spot, a different staff member immediately told us we must turn our engine off in a very impolite fashion, waving his arms and just an all around rude tone. Keep in mind, we had just parked and were still getting settled in. With that information, if you plan to go on a hot summer night- don't. The night doesn't get cool enough for you to sit outside your car, and you can't run your car for air conditioning. I feel that the drive in should make a no smoking rule, as it is unpleasant to sit next to families that smoke. I do not smoke and do not want my car smelling like cigarette smoke, yet because there are no rules against smoking, families around us smoked freely. I would also like to add that we tried to get snow cones, since they had the machine out, but after waiting in line for 15 minutes, the worker just left with no explanation. Needless to say, I did not wait longer and went back to the car without snow cones. I will not be coming back. read more

I'm surprised there aren't more negative reviews. Maybe I went on a bad or off night. I went on a Thursday evening several weeks ago and had a terrible experience: 1. Parking- pulling into the lot an hour early most of the nicer spaces were taken by rows of cars which wasn't a huge concern but the side lanes were dominated typically by groups of rough looking youths taking up multiple car spaces with lawn furniture, BBQ supplies and coolers. (It honestly looked like they bought their backyard with them). Around half the spaces I passed were over occupied due to this and I didn't dare ask anyone to move due to the copious amount of liquor I spotted them imbibing. This leads into my next point... 2. I definitely wouldn't label this a family friendly establishment (which some comments/reviews on other sites had stated) based on the night I attended; many drunk movie-goers yelling out inappropriate suggestions, etc. Not a huge problem, but the crack pipe resting on the sink in the bathroom certainly left something to be desired. 3. A smaller note to complain about but I had brought a portable radio to listen to the movie on as I didn't want to leave my car battery drained after the several hours of screen time were complete. This would have worked fine until a family pulled up alongside of my car in a non-parking space due to crowding, turning their car stereo up all the way causing my car to vibrate. They then climbed out of their car and onto the roof, constantly scampering back up and down to restart their car's radio as it de-activated itself. read more

I took my family to this drive-in for the first time last weekend & had a nice time. The bathrooms were in POOR repair, but it was otherwise very enjoyable, so much so that we returned this weekend. We used an electric outlet in the main office to inflate our air bed & each time & an older gentleman, whom I perceived to be in charge, came out to make small talk. After purchasing concessions we returned to our vehicle, and I told my husband how great it was to get that throw-back feel like when I went to the drive-in my grandparents owned when I was a kid. We both tried the popcorn and agreed it was very chewy, grossly so. It was not a big deal, we figured we'd trade it out between films since the first feature was starting. When the break came I took the bag to the register & explained that I'd purchased it earlier & found it to be very chewy, & simply asked if I could exchange it. She said she'd have to get the manager who indeed was the man we'd formerly spoken with outside, only now with a very different demeanor. He came in & curtly asked when I had purchased it. I repeated that we'd gotten it prior to the first show but it was a poor texture at that time, which is why so little was eaten from the bag. He told me "it's (my) popcorn now". I reiterated that I didn't want to miss part of the movie to exchange it, but that it WAS very chewy upon receipt. A nearby employee said, "That's because it's humid out," & the manager promptly chastised him, ordering him not to interject. Even then he refused to replace it. After telling him how dismayed I was by his lack of courtesy despite his own employee speaking in my favor & how disappointed I was with his attitude given my formerly positive perception of him, he finally said he was not giving me a refund (I had never asked for one), but he'd exchange it for new popcorn (all the while barking at me). Whew! A customer complaint over popcorn should have been a non-issue. I'd have proceeded to enjoy a rare, childless date night & would likely have been a lifelong customer of this establishment. However, following this exchange, I feel very disrespected and undervalued as a customer here. Of more significance, I perceived the manager to speak harshly to the young man he employed, who was obviously only trying to help. Subsequently, I have no desire to return here. read more

LOVE this place. Tickets are cheap. You get to watch two movies, bring the snacks and drinks and enjoy the show. It is usually crowded on Friday and Saturday so get there at a reasonable time.
